One thing I don't like about the [sp]Control ending though, for all the ways it fixes the universe and denies all the horrible things about the endings, is that I can't help but feel we're meant to be thinking about it a bit deeper than we are.
I mean, destroying them was symbolic as fuck. It was about refusing the things that came with being in control of the Reapers to ensure that people will evolve as they're meant to. Maybe it's possible to rebuild the Relays, maybe it's possible to go faster than light. But the thing is, it's like salvation's being handed to you on a silver platter, like you haven't earned it.
But the endings just fuck so much up with the ME universe, it basically forces you to look at it pragmatically if you want any kind of closure. It should be a difficult choice - take what the Reapers are giving you and refuse to put the effort in to earn them, or say "we work for what we want" and refuse their offers. Instead, you get the Reapers coming along and saying "We can fix this." and it isn't really clear enough that there may be a Catch-22 to it.[/sp]
Alright, I'm too worried about spoilers to check back the last 2500 or so posts, but after reading on reddit about the whole "banned for playing a game where the host changed the credit gain" thing, is playing multiplayer basically Russian Roulette at the moment? I don't want to risk playing if there's a chance to get seriously fucked.
Speaking of flashbacks, my Shepard was [sp]all up in Tali's suit, if you know what I mean. Romanced only Tali.
Yet for some reason, in his last moments as a human, he didn't have any flashbacks to the love of his life. Why so, Bioware, WHY?[/sp]
Because fuck your love interests I guess
I'll wait and see on the DLC. How this whole thing is handled will determine whether or not I support Bioware after this.
Same, but I'm sure it will be decent. I mean the whole game was awesome besides that part and a few small bits I didn't get.
(The game really panders to Liara in my opinion)

Well they were hyping her up an awful lot in ME2. It was like "oh hey I got to do some stuff but I'm capable of compressing steel into a coffee cup now so if you do that I'll work with you", so they were just kinda saying that she was awesome now but you'll have to wait for ME3 to get her.
Also, did [sp]Palaven's moon[/sp] remind anyone else of that bit from Starship Troopers a lot?
I romanced Liara in the third, Liara's cool.

The Turians were modeled after the Terran Federation, so it's reasonable to assume it wasn't just a coincidence.

I guess they were hyping her, but I just feel like a lot of the game kinda puts her small moments into the star-light. Like when everyone says their goodbyes, she gets to give you a special "gift". You get to call her up and she makes a computer and documents you.
I just feel the Other Squadmates didn't have this same level of interaction or attention, and it just feels sort of weird.
But I guess what really makes me feel this way is how the game paints her out as your "default" love or best friend and than the flashback at the end is always her (unless you fucked Kaidan or AShley)

[sp]My Shepard had a flashback to Ashley, and you'll supposedly see Liara as well if you romanced her, not sure about the others.[/sp]
Seeing these posts makes me not want to beat the game :(

Get to the part where you can have a final conversation with everyone, and then shut the game off and watch youtube videos of explosions for half an hour while listening to the game's sound track.
trust me on this one.

I love how Tali's face is shown in a photograph, but in her final LI scene (way after you get that picture) you don't see it.
I mean come on guys, I know what it looks like, why not just show it?

You only see Ash, Kaidan, or Liara. If you romanced anyone who is NOT them, it defaults to Liara
hopefully this game will have a broken steel-esque dlc
The thing about Broken Steel is that in Fallout 3 only the main character died at the end
[sp]In ME3 Shepherd is dead in all but one ending and all of galactic civilization has ceased to exist for the next thousand years or more. The Mass Effect universe can be continued.[/sp]

It is a bit interesting why they put that in the game as they did.
[sp]I had planned on destroying them up until the explanations for the choices, at which point I just couldn't see any drawbacks to the Control end. You have a Shepard that's ALIVE in the reapers. You have destroyed Mass Relays, but the REAPERS and their near-omniscience are still there.
Rebuilding the galaxy into what it used to be would be just a flick of Shepard's now very tentacle-like wrist. There you have the potential to get back together with your comrades and, heck, more importantly, with your love interest.
Compare this with the other endings, and I don't see how any rational mind would choose anything other than Control.
In Destroy you destroy not only the Relays and the Reapers, but also the Geth and the tech the Quarians need to survive in their suits.
In synthesis you merge synthetics and organics, from what i can tell. And truth be told, while I am one that is for augmenting humans, I'd say what happens at the end of Synthesis removes the humanity from humans. Same for the other species.
Then you have Control where Shepard survives, Paragon Shepard would rebuild everything, everyone is happy.

It was mainly because it was a dark, grey moon, with loads of flat-surfaced barriers being assaulted.

[sp]The Reapers are a vast and powerful force, who says they can't easily just be manipulating you or turn on you at some later time? Shepard might be Shepard and he might "control" them, but you're putting a lot of faith into becoming best buddies with the things you vowed to fight and have destroyed countless lives and civilizations. Destroying them, We don't know what happens to the Geth, its very well could be a bluff. As Shepard is Part Synthetic and the Catalyst notes this, but you can live in this ending. Tali also came out of the Normandy for me, so I think its safe to say Quarian suits are completely fine. Infact he mentioned nothing about technology to me, just AI. (Unless I missed that part?)
Synthesis is the same thing as Control, do you really trust the Reapers?[/sp]
Turians are cool
Salarians are cool
Asari are cool
Humans are cool
Elcor are cool
Drell are cool
Quarians are cool
Krogan are cool
Volus are alright
Batarians are dicks
Even though a lot of people don't like the endings
[sp]They left me with that 'oh god what have I done, did I do the right thing oh god oh man oh god ho man' feeling, which is interesting. The endings weren't what we expected, but I liked them. So much more change, so big decisions. I took control.[/sp]
My reaction to the ending(s):

Batarians actually get a lot better the further they are from the Hegemony, it would be like saying all North Koreans are monsters because they support the regime while in North Korea.

And I know Mass-Effect is a defined story and I realize Shepard is his own Character. but wouldn't I kind of... Think of my Lover? In my final moments I know the person I want to remember is who I loved.
Even than, ME1-ME2-ME3 implies Shepard cares about all his crew. Why not just have a flash-back from all of them. I know I definitely cared about all of them.

[sp]I'm not sure why, in that case, the Reapers left Earth after lighting up all blue and shit.
I think that if they were truly in control, they would have just resumed destroying everything. Their mission had not been fulfilled yet. Even so, they stopped firing and lifted off.
I'd say that in the Control end, Shepard's consciousness literally replaces the Reapers'.
Of course, what happens after them lifting off isn't completely clear, but I'd wager that from that point on, Shepard was permanently in complete control[/sp]

[sp] Its left up to us, but I don't know if I can completely trust Shepard or the Reapers. Destroying the Reapers is a big cost, but so is Controlling them[/sp]

Yep. Was a nice, intimidating appearance from him.
[sp]I wish Shepherd said 'Assuming control' in that ending[/sp]
