[sp]and he didn't tell me about the green ending the jerk[/sp]
I never understand people's fixation on games where you're only given two choices with equally bad results. [sp]Someone on the Bioware forums was complaining that allowing you to make peace between the Geth and Quarians was too "perfect" and not "emotional" enough. I don't feel that in the slightest. I'd find such a choice to be about about as enjoyable in-game as if I had to make it in real life.[/sp] In fact, I've never really been into unhappy endings in general. I'll go as low as better sweet, but as far as I'm concerned, a downer ending is just a waste of my time.
So I'm about to go up against the [sp]Cerberus HQ[/sp] and I'm torn between the Geth Plasma Rifle and the Sabre for assault rifles.
I REALLY like how the Geth Plasma Rifle handles. It's got a big clip, it's extremely accurate, and it fires fairly fast with a large ammo pool.
However, after playing around in the shooting range with both, I really love how the Sabre handles. It's got massive stopping power and overall seems to be an extremely strong weapon. But I'm not sure about the very small clip capacity.
Which is effectively 'better'? I've got them both to level 5 and they're both fitted with Precision Scope IV and Extended Barrel V

Beating the game with anything other than the Avenger is just wrong.
I finished the game with the Spectre Widowmaker, the Mattock with a scope and the claymore shotgun.
Never had any problems.
Also, anybody notice the holy grail-ification of the omni-tool? It's now a repairing tool, live chat thing, a weapon, a drone summoner, what can it not do at this point?

I use the Plasma Rifle exclusively and combine it with fire ammo, I've torn apart two brutes before they could even touch me.
Anyone have any good methods for getting over the atrocity which is the ending? It's been about 30 hours now and I can't bare to even touch a video game for more than 30 minutes, I can't bare to even start a Mass Effect game. The whole ending seemed like such a downer to me and I think it's actually affected me past the game, like I haven't finished the game (I doubt many could say that in confidence).

Give us a good ending.

Feel the same way, the only thing I've been able to do now is come here and share what I think. I need a IRL friend to speak about dis shit, get some closure on my deception.
I gotta say I love Vega he's such a fucking bro.
Also, why [sp]Shephard couldn't use his omni-gel to help Anderson? Doesn't the thing have like depressant, stimulants and painkillers all in one? [/sp]
I mean, if Omni-gel is the Phoenix Down of Mass Effect, then you can't use it in cut-scenes?

I focus on the events leading up to the ending, then once it gets to a certain point just imagine the SR2 went fuck this shit to the reapers and Joker blew them them all up, picked Shepard up, and Shepard had a happy ever after with Tali on Rannoch.
Are you fucking kidding me BW? I have modified my assets to have a ridiculous amount, I have maxed out my reputation and paragon and I still can't fucking do the last convo persuade?

Play through the game again - except this time, right before you make the final push, close the game, put the ME3 soundtrack on, and watch youtube videos of explosions. It is a far superior ending.

Well the Omni Tool could ALWAYS do these things it was just never really elaborated on.
The Quarians, obviously, used it for repairing all the time. It was mentioned in the Codex that the blade function of it has been around for a long time, just not often used until the Reaper invasion (Husks don't have guns, more easily dispatched with blade rather than waste ammo). If you noticed in ME2 Tali always used her Omni Tool when summoning a drone, and I'm pretty sure it's been used as a communicator in ME2/1

In fact, you close the game right when [sp]Anderson says "I'm proud of you son." [/sp]
This allows you to imagine the [sp]Crucible worked, and the Reapers were destroyed. [/sp]

You're thinking of Medi-Gel. Omni-Gel was only in ME1 used to repair the MAKO and force open locks.
Medi-Gel isn't a cure all. It's mostly antibiotics and a little bit of painkiller and healing accelerant, but it isn't meant to fix anything. Remember in ME2 when you gave Medigel to the Batarian in Omega, the scientist at the beginning of the game, and the blue suns merc when you got Grunt, they were still in pain/limping. It just closes the wound and stops infection.
Hence a need for hospitals and medics.

I remember in Mass Effect 1's codex that the Medi-gel was a mixture of Painkillers, Stimulant/Depressant.

Yeah, I actually considered that.
[sp]It would have been so much better if it DID end with Anderson dying, followed by a montage of the effects of all your decisions (geth and quarians co-existing or not, Krogan building new cities, rachni founding new colonies, etc) and the implication that Shepard dies too - except if you had a high readiness score, you got to talk to the catalyst and have everything explained after the credits.[/sp]

[sp]Your armor can automatically apply medi-gel. I imagine your suit used up every ounce of it keeping yourself alive after being hit by Harbinger.[/sp]

What about the moment where slow-motion is forced because you couldn't possibly aim correctly at a target running toward you?
Argh why doesn't the soundtrack have the music for the [sp]final choice?[/sp]
I remember in Mass Effect 1's codex that the Medi-gel was a mixture of Painkillers, Stimulant/Depressant.
"Medi-gel (medical gel) is an all-purpose medicinal salve combining an anaesthetic and clotting agent used by paramedics, EMTs, and military personnel, produced by the Sirta Foundation. It heals various wounds and ailments, instantly sealing injuries against infection and allowing for rapid healing by having the gel grip tight to flesh until subjected to a frequency of ultrasound. It is sealable against liquids - most notably blood - as well as contaminants and gases."
From what I gather, it's a temporary measure for use in combat zones where you can't actually get a medic right away. It kills germs to prevent infection, closes the wound by clamping over it, clots blood to prevent bleeding and help encourage scab covering, etc.
