So which mass effect game has the best credits song ?
ME1 > ME3 > ME2 in my opinion.
Right now I'm doing a playthrough where all of them died in Mass Effect 2, kept the Collector base, killed Wrex in ME1, didn't help Kirahhe, killed the Rachni Queen and basically whatever bad things possible. I want to see how this affects the game.
ME1 sounds really epic and the whole song goes along with the theme of an unknown future with the Reapers coming.
ME2 sounds epic but it's just the suicide mission theme rehashed again. It does make you forward to all the amazing battles ME3 is going to have though and stopping the Reapers.
ME3 is just depressing and to be honest that song should of been used in the credits for the worst ending.
That's not entirely true. There's also an ending where [sp]all life dies (organic and synthetic)[/sp] and apparently one where [sp]the Reapers win[/sp] but I hadn't seen that last one yet.
Haven't played ME1, but the credits song sounds wonderful.

The ending mainly is just straight up out of place, it doesn't match the 80's cliche sci-fi theme at all and I don't even know if bioware is aware of how stupid this is.
I would think that abandoning the whole essence of a series isn't something you do on accident.
I mean one part of me wants them to be aware of how they fucked up, but another is worried that they might have legitimately been trying and that's what's most frightening.
I think the glory days of Bioware writing died with KOTOR and DAO.

wasn't ME1 after kotor though? because imo kotor1 had a worse story than ME1.

Sad this wasn't used.

[sp]More like THE ending as their is no difference apart from laser colour[/sp]
Bad endings don't make the game a failure

ME1 and 2 only count if we go with the belief that they completely threw out the trilogy story in ME3 for this crap instead.
Bad endings don't make the game a failure
Bioshock had a pretty shit ending too. Didn't make the game any worse, but the ending was still shit and is widely criticised for it.
[sp]Maybe your squad mates got a quick pickup from the Normandy and they couldn't find your body? Or they just put your 2 squads on there because, if people are like me, they choose their favorite characters as their squad mates, and the player wants to see them live. Still a plot hole though.[/sp]
[sp]Why would they receive a pickup?! Shuttle is down, Normandy is up there, fighting the Reapers, there's no reason for them to return to the normandy. If they were alive, but couldn't find Shepard, they would jump into the beam themselves. Even if they did, what's the point for Joker to drive the ship somewhere to a distant planet, definitely not part of the Solar system, where they ended up? Alone? Is he a deserter? There's so much things that make it impossible to even try to believe it[/sp]. That is a bullshit. No one with a brain capable of maintaining critical functions (like breathing) could've come up with this.

It has a huge effect on the perspective of the game series as a whole. The whole game was building up to those last few minutes. The devs promised many times that the endings would offer a great conclusion for the people who had been playing at the start and that all those decisions would matter in the ending. Instead we got Nope.
Everyone believes ME3 has great gameplay and story before the end and then everything comes crashing. I for one can't bring myself to play the series again knowing how stupid the ending is.

[sp]So i looked up the list and i've practically done everything in order to have the geth and the quarians make peace. i saved tali's face in front of the fleet, rewrote the heretics, saved the admiral and this should apparently give me the choice to make peace. but the choice never pops up and i'm stuck with picking either horrible option. Oh, yeah I guess I'd agree than.
I think me3 just made me realize how much of a classic me1 is though, I think they shouldn't have tried to fit the story into only three games, I mean look at the Metal gear series or even Legend of zelda for that matter.
EDIT: You know what, Deadly Premonition is one of my favourite games because of it's ending. If any of you have played it you know what I mean. If Fucking deadly premonition could leave me with zero questions by the end I expect a writing team being payed to make the end of a trilogy to be at least at that level.

We'll see.
Bad endings don't make the game a failure
Yes they do. Especially when it's the ending to three games, not one.

Just ideas, I know its highly improbable.

Stop being dramatic. Even if the end is shit there's still a lot of other stuff that wasn't bad. It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth after a good run, deal with it.

[sp]Just allow the legion transfer the data. If you did everything alright, you'll now what to do. If you didn't, well, you screwed up somewhere and there's nothing you can do anymore[/sp].
Just ideas, I know its highly improbable.
It's not improbable, it's impossible. Bioware must go completely apeshit to allow something like that slip into their mind and then just go [sp]It all was a fairytale anyway[/sp]. That's a spit in the face.

Look at you.
Anyway, having a few fun missions means nothing to me if the thing I was working for and the thing they were leading up to is utter shit. 'Deal with it', what a compelling argument, "It's shit but whatever you shouldn't be disappointed because some dialogue and missions were alright". That's some funny ass shit.
well i just have no idea where i went wrong

[sp]try it, if you did good - the dialogue will pop up allowing you to either bully or persuade quarians to stand down. Now I told you, it won't be that dramatic anymore, lol[/sp]

Did you do the N7 missions?

[sp]Actually you were meant to destroy the Heretics to increase your chance for peace somehow. Is your paragon/renegade high enough? I told Legion to upload the data to the Geth and then got a paragon choice to get the Quarian fleet to stop fighting[/sp]

I already saw that ending, as mentioned. It's the other ending I had not seen that is supposedly an actual ending.
Unless that was meant as a general thing for others to see what I was talking about.
