There was no trial and there never will be, you were arrested, suspended, brought back to earth (in some comic) and when the hearing started the tribunal gets attacked, with only you and Anderson escaping alive.
I hope people won't complain that I posted this, all of it happens in less than 10 minutes of the demo and gets treated as tutorial where you learn the basic controls of the game.

A while ago people were complaining that the trial was dumb because it was just a way of squeezing in all the plot options for people who didn't have a save file :v:

There is a lot of irony in this: When ME2 was released everyone complained about too much spoilers in the trailers and what not. Now we got the whole game spoiled and we're of the mercy at trolls and can only hope they won't attack this thread sooner or later and post untagged spoilers.

They had so many cool concepts for both Miranda and Samara, yet they just decided to use really bland ones instead. And they didn't even bother giving either of them a new costume.

if you've ever seen concept art for games, there are almost always a bunch of designs for characters that are much cooler than the final one in-game.
