BSN reports that THESE are the original endings and they make much more sense
[sp] "The Reapers' goal was to find a way to stop the spread of Dark Energy which would eventually consume everything. That's why there was so much foreshadowing about Dark Energy in ME2.
The Reapers as a whole were 'nations' of people who had fused together in the most horrific way possible to help find a way to stop the spread of the Dark Energy. The real reason for the Human Reaper was supposed to be the Reapers saving throw because they had run out of time. Humanity in Mass Effect is supposedly unique because of it's genetic diversity and represented the universe's best chance at stopping Dark Energy's spread.
The original final choice was going to be "Kill the Reapers and put your faith in the races of the galaxy in finding another way to stop the spread with what little time is left" or "Sacrifice humanity, allowing them to be horrifically processed in hopes that the end result will justify the means."
The original ending actually follows events from the first and second Mass Effect games. Why this plot was thrown out is beyond me. For one it makes sense for the Reapers to have that, "bad guys thinks his actions are good", narritive and a choice that will ultimately decide the fate of the galaxy that is not based on a "lose lose" situation. [/sp]
It just reinforces my beliefs that Bioware is lazy and fucked up the end of ME3 to unbelievable proportions.
checking a few pages ago would answer your question.
Ok, I read someone talking about it, but that only answered half my question.

Yes, there is.
Post on Reddit that seems to believe that the endings we have right now are actually not what was originally meant at all, not talking about the [sp]dark energy[/sp] ending but the fact that they ran out of time and half assed it to get it out the door.

There's no spoilers in that picture except that the endings suck.
Also the game's been out for a week now, you should start expecting some spoilers. If you're terrified of death, just go out.
Again, that picture barely spoils anything.
so here is my in depth review after completing mass effect 3

Not like it's hard for people to avoid the thread in any event. I only started looking at this thread today, after i completed the game. To avoid shit like this.
I'll still post spoilers in tags but still...if you fear for spoilers, stay away from a thread discussing the game lol

If the trilogy ended on a high note, I wouldn't be depressed.
On how it ended, I feel pretty bad though.

I had that M-99 Saber for multiplayer..was an assault rifle with the power of a sniper rifle. 8 shots per mag, 48 shots total. Thing was a beast. Could easily get gold for headshots in a round. Got it in my first spectre resupply box aswell.
Was nice, only played enough MP to get me up to 80% rediness though, couldn't be arsed anymore

[sp]The whole mission on Haelstrom (Saving Tali) is based around the star's death being accelerated due to dark energy [/sp]
