Earlier this day I said I'm happy with the ending of my Ed Shepard. And I still am.
But in the big picture... wow.. these endings just freaking unbelievably suck.
[sp]Reapers WERE ruined. "It's too complicated for you to understand our purpose." And in the end you feel like a child being taught by a parent. It's like explaining how are babies born.
Not to mention that once you have to use orbital strikes to put down a reaper and the other time 2 ground missiles are just fine to destroy him.
I really miss a happy ending, Reapers gone, Shepard alive, settling down with his love interest, Tali on her homeworld, drinking with Garrus.. I would REALLY like that.[/sp]
All that rage, frustration and disgust that everyone's having finally came to me as well. Seriously, this is the biggest let-down in the gaming history. No doubt.
Just wondering, if you play as a Renegade, do the scars carry over to the third game? Or are they magically gone?

I thought the game was amazing, great dialouge, the best gameplay in the series, some kick ass cinematics. Then in the last 5 minutes the game fell apart, nothing made any sense and most of what [sp]the Catalyst[/sp] said was just stupid.

Some guy did a ME2/ME3 comparison of his full renegade Shep earlier in the thread, as I recall there's some scars present, but some of the more severe stuff like the red eyes are gone in ME3.
I had that M-99 Saber for multiplayer..was an assault rifle with the power of a sniper rifle. 8 shots per mag, 48 shots total. Thing was a beast. Could easily get gold for headshots in a round. Got it in my first spectre resupply box aswell.
Was nice, only played enough MP to get me up to 80% rediness though, couldn't be arsed anymore
I hate you :v:
sabers are so stupidly OP

Wow, they really are excellent at missing the point, aren't they?
Even with all the outrage against DLC and the endings I still find the multiplayer ridiculously addictive. I had to tear myself away from it last night when I tabbed out and saw the time was 6:30 am :v:

It felt that way, didn't have too much trouble with anything.

I thought it was shit the fact that you had to play at least some multiplayer to improve your chances in singleplayer. While I thought it was okay, I have no reason to play it any further now I've finished the game.
Mass effect has always been a singleplayer game for me. IF anything a fully co-op story Mass effect would be epic but no, if not, don't bother. I'll just enjoy the story for what it is :)

That perfectly summed up my feelings for the ending.
Oh yea, what did that Prothean DLC actually add to the game then?
Just a character or was there actual story there that helped clue you in on the ending or anything enlightening like that?
I can already see it now. Bioware releases more DLC to boost the 'goodness' of your ending. Buy all 40$ of it and you unlock the 'true' ending.

Apparently some bullshit about other species having made much more progress than them, and some other lore that's pretty important.
Question with the endings:
[sp] I understand that:
control - Shep dies, relays destroyed, Joker and your final team crash on planet, peace.
Destroy - Shep dies, all synthetics killed, relays destroyed, Joker and final team crash on planet, Joker gets to be with EDI.
Sythesis - Shep dies, organic and synthetic joined, relays destroyed, Joker and Final team crash on planet, nice scene where joker and EDI are together, peace.
Then if you have 5000 military strength points and pick destroy, you get a scene that appears to show shep alive...
Does this scene also show for control and synthesis? or are their other secret endings? I can't believe Bioware would only give a secret ending to renagade. [/sp]

Closes some plotholes and he's a good addition to the game

[sp]No, every endings gets shephard killed except Destroy. Also, EDI dies in the destroy ending. [/sp]

you went about it the right way but come the fuck on people
I thought we were past "the entire series is RUINED!!" over the ending
He seemed cooler in the novel.
I imagined Kai Leng to be so much different based on his description/thoughts in Retribution. The way his character was set up, he was a human loyalist, not one of the Illusive Man's indoctrinated dogs. Kai Leng had intellect, tact and he was a fucking great killer. I was expecting so much more from him in the game than "lol im pro assassin guys i can do flips neat".
If Anderson could get him, I'm more than sure Shepard could've easily taken him on. And past that, Thane, even if terminally ill, could've easily killed him.
I find Kai Leng to be abject in this game. Also, this was supposed to be said earlier, oops.

Thanks, [sp] kinda disappointed would have wanted nothing more to see Shep with is crew at the end. I makes it feel like the whole journey was for nothing. Although people will complain I would seriously want some dlc that provided that ending. [/sp]

i think it's going to take more than a few days to get over the painful ass rape we received from bioware
Oh wow.
[sp]So I picked Synthesis (saved before to see all the endings) and all I can say is wow, the endings are LITERALLY the same with different colors and a few different cutscenes. Hah. I guess the real difference is your imagination.[/sp]
Ending Ass-Rape or not, MP is still fun as tits.
Does anyone know someone with the steam account name Phailosophy? I was playing through ME3 when he messaged me calling me a biodrone with some other incoherent babbling.

...The things some people do.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, kinda confusing as I've been going back and forth between the Bioware forums and here but, seems there are some more scrapped ending material.
[sp]There are some soundfiles that indicates that Joker was going to come by while rushing towards Harbinger and save the day somewhat, three sound files has been dug up, which I will link:

"That was for Cortez!"
There is also this "Script", can't verify its existence myself at the moment, but it seems "official", apparently some hints towards other DLC has been found there too.
BSN reports that THESE are the original endings and they make much more sense
[sp] "The Reapers' goal was to find a way to stop the spread of Dark Energy which would eventually consume everything. That's why there was so much foreshadowing about Dark Energy in ME2.
The Reapers as a whole were 'nations' of people who had fused together in the most horrific way possible to help find a way to stop the spread of the Dark Energy. The real reason for the Human Reaper was supposed to be the Reapers saving throw because they had run out of time. Humanity in Mass Effect is supposedly unique because of it's genetic diversity and represented the universe's best chance at stopping Dark Energy's spread.
The original final choice was going to be "Kill the Reapers and put your faith in the races of the galaxy in finding another way to stop the spread with what little time is left" or "Sacrifice humanity, allowing them to be horrifically processed in hopes that the end result will justify the means."
The original ending actually follows events from the first and second Mass Effect games. Why this plot was thrown out is beyond me. For one it makes sense for the Reapers to have that, "bad guys thinks his actions are good", narritive and a choice that will ultimately decide the fate of the galaxy that is not based on a "lose lose" situation. [/sp]
Really? How did people find this out?
That isn't a perfect ending IMO, (it doesn't really explain "We are beyond your comprehension") but at least it makes a lot more sense than [sp]WE NEED TO EXTERMINATE ALL LIFE SO YOU DON'T MAKE MACHINES THAT EXTERMINATE ALL LIFE"[/sp]
