Defending the Thanix missilelaunchers near the end was hellish until I realized you can hide from the Reapers beam behind the buildings, dodging 3-4 Banshees, Marauders and the beam was...interesting.
that was the only bit I rage quit on (though i was playing on Hardcore... i just kept falling back from the two banshees and then some grunt throws a grenade at me...ughhhh)
and which rebelled against them.
Well it kinda was their fault that happened.
The Eclipse don't give you that many assets to make you worry about it if I recall.
Okay. It's just annoying seeing that mission taunting me.
Anyway, does anyone else's log get stuck on a mission from ages ago when you open it? Requiring you to scroll ALL the way to the top.
I forgot I was playing on a high difficulty on my first game. fuck. And I wonder why the banshees and etc fucking me up on Earth.
I remember all the hype bioware tried to create about the all-cool omniblade.
I barely even used it.
But the Turians and Salarians fucked over the Krogan acting like Genocidal idiots, the Krogan themselves started going around declaring war to everyone. I don't understand how are the Quarians less deserving of peace and tranquility then the other races, because they bullied synthetics they created themselves, and which rebelled against them.
Edit:
Even humans have had their dark spots. But should they get fucked over for retaking Earth?
The whole Krogan situation is the fault of the Salarians, the Turians were fucked because of a mistake the Salarians made so they just went along. I'm not saying Quarians are not deserving of peace, but if it came down to a choice between the two (which it won't if you play well) I'd choose the Geth over the Quarians. The Geth didn't really even rebel, they just defended themselves. Didn't follow the Quarians into space trying to exterminate them or anything. Yet the Quarians have these centuries-old grudges and acknowledge the fact that MAYBE they made a mistake and it would be better to start over somewhere else.

Whenever I play on Insanity I feel like I have to play a biotic character of some kind. Warp and biotic explosions are too good to pass up with armor and barriers everywhere.
Well, by biotic I guess I mean Sentinel since you can deal with every situation in the game.

Yeah, it's stuck on one of Aria's missions which I've done ages ago.

On Insanity it leaves you too exposed, that's why I never use it.

They were almost exterminated, chased off their homeworld, which was the only world where they could live without PROTECTIVE SUITS, forced into a hundred-year exile where they had to live on crowded ships, became space gypsies, lost respect of all the other races. And you expect them to say sorry for the Geth? The Morning War tossed the Quarians into a horrible state.
Are you able to get the items in the Spectre place for the various find and give missions elsewhere, or are they only in the Spectre shop?
I'm curious about something, [sp]is Destroy the only ending where the Catalyst doesn't give you "the look" before dissipating?[/sp]
Anyone ever get stuck in the cockpit of the Normandy?
Standing just behind joker, near to EDI...there's a point in the floor that makes you spazz out and if you're not careful you will become trapped and just stand there like a chimp.
[sp]The whole "If you dont do as I say im not going to help you in the war" salarian thing was pretty ridiculous. "Yeah, the Reapers are killing everything, but I dont like the krogans, so if you help them, im not gonna give you my armies' support, ok?" Even Bioware knew how stupid this sounds so they just added a "Oh and the salarian fleets are reporting for duty" in a conversation to smudge things up.[/sp]

The Geth could've chased after them and wiped them out but they chose not to as they were only acting in self defence. This could've given the Quarians chance to try to make peace but they squandered it and chose war instead.
Although in the game it was a hard choice to decide who to pick. In the end I chose Quarians as [sp] I didn't want Tali to kill herself =( even though legion had to die instead[/sp]
You're missing the point Kilgore. Regardless of how the Morning War started or whether or not the Geth chased the Quarians or who is at fault, the Quarians were exiled. They had no idea the Geth would have accepted peace after the war because the Geth never talked to anyone before Legion made contact with Shepard. As far as the Morning War itself they PANICKED. They had accidentally created a networked artificial intelligence. What happens when you create AI? They wonder why they need your sorry ass around and try to attack you.

The issue still started with the quarians who felt that the Geth were becoming too intelligent, self aware, and started killing them.
I can't blame the current Quarian generation because most of them, as I recall, were told that the geth are nothing but evil. However much I like the Quarians, they did bring this upon themselves.
I don't think the Quarians tried to talk either.
Never mind then, I was hoping there would be more people that actually supported the Quarians..

[sp] funny how so many people had trouble with the quarians and geth. I managed to get both to survive, end their little fight and live together in peace on their homeworld. Tali was alive and happy with me, a team of geth prime to help in the fight. But legion died. Ithink he always dies. [/sp]

They had the entire war to try and make peace though. It would probably call anything the Quarians might have learned from the war into question if they only tried to make peace after the Geth fought back and kicked their asses.
Never mind then, I was hoping there would be more people that actually supported the Quarians..
Well they were basically huge dicks about it and willfully supported subjugating species, so I guess it's sort of hard to sympathize.
Never mind then, I was hoping there would be more people that actually supported the Quarians..
I do support them. However I really, really didn't like the first choice where it asked if you [sp]wanted to support the Quarians or the Geth[/sp]
Every decision in ME3 came pretty fast for me, but at that choice, I sat there thinking over my morals for like 3 minutes before I went with the Quarians
I guess if the geth were an organic species I could actually feel bad for them. Ahh well, at least it's fun to fight them - controlling a rocketlauncher or a pyro devastates their line.

They may have been huge dicks but try to put yourself into the universe, where any kind of AI is considered horribly dangerous.
All they ever considered the geth to be was advanced VIs, so when they started asking philosophical questions and shit, the quarians went all "WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WE MADE AI FUCK FUCK FUCK KILL THEM"

[sp] "Yes." :([/sp]
Never mind then, I was hoping there would be more people that actually supported the Quarians..
The thing is that not every quarian wanted to exterminate the geth.[sp] As we saw in those memory vids(or something) a lot of quarians died protecting the geth. The way I see it, people with more power were againts them, so the choice to destroy the geth was taken easily. Just like in current time, 2 out of 4 admirals(not counting Tali) want to completely destroy them.[/sp]
Also, theres the fact about Citadel Space law - Developing any sort of true AI was(and still is) illegal. The quarians used to also have a seat on the council, so it would really look bad for a council race to disobey such a strict law.
They were also really unsure about how the geth would act. Since there were so many geth, nobody knew what would happen if they suddenly decided that they feel like slaves and revolted.
On the other hand, the geth did try to explain that they mean no harm, or atleast to understand why their creators are trying to exterminate them. I think that what the quarians did was a tad overboard and that they brought their demise upon themselves.
Sure I feel sorry for what happened to their race, but it doesnt really justify their actions. They didnt acknowledge that the geth were not just robot assistants anymore, but a new, sentient race. But again, they had no choice - it was either "clean up the mess they made" or face the repercussions.
Okay, so.. am I remembering Mass Effect 2 wrong or are the side quests in this game really horrible?
They're nearly all fetch quests or "Walk around, press use on something, walk to another place, press use then watch a cutscene, walk around, press use, then watch a final cutscene"..
and good lord, the journal/quest log is a mess.

At least the side quests in ME2 had you shooting things sometimes. Instead of just scanning a planet.

Did you delete the programming in Mass effect 2?
[sp]I think Legion mentions the fact that deleting the code worked out better for the Geth in the end and there's a Journal entry mentioning that the geth were now slightly more advanced and more fearsome in combat due to the code being rewritten/deleted [/sp] or whatever it was I did in ME2
Not sure if that effects the choosable outcome in ME3...i would have liked to save both of them of course
