Okay, I want to settle this once and for all. People are saying you need x EMS in order to get y ending. Are they referring to the EMS BEFORE the Galaxy at War percentage modifier is calculated or AFTER?

Disable voice and there ain't a problem at all. It won't take you many games to reach 5000 EMS, if you have done all the content. And as someone else wrote, you only need 4000 if you have maxed or very high paragon.

EMS is the value after the multiplier.
I just finished the game, here are my thoughts:
[sp]Solid ending that brought the series full circle, in my opinion. The entire endgame was a brilliant experience - especially the showdown with the Illusive man. I know there's a lot of complaints about the last 5 minutes or so, but I personally thought it was quite well done. I chose to destroy the reapers and my Shepard survived.
Having said all that, I am not without my complaints... I'm not sure why the Normandy was making a relay jump at the end, and I regret not having a proper conclusion on my squadmates and not having them reunite with Shepard. Despite this, I was still satisfied. Looking forward to another playthrough![/sp]
Hmm... maybe they'll keep adding dlc that increaces your military strength, allowing you to access endings for 6000, 7000 ems.

ME1 - Way too complex as in too many RPG elements e.g. items, exploration, planets,classes,etc.
ME2 - Better but Jacob sucks and Miranda's ass is too big.
