well I mean look the must have put a lot of hard work into that image
I mean they put in a lens flare and everything!
I can tell they spent a large amount of time figuring out what they wanted to do with it.
Sorry, but with what we were given, it's really hard not to think about the worst case scenarios. Even the best case scenario is very bleak.
and so what? it's not like there aren't 10000 movies that leave what actually happens at the end up to the imagination. it's not much different from that
and so what? it's not like there aren't 10000 movies that leave what actually happens at the end up to the imagination. it's not much different from that
I don't see the ending as a victory. That's the problem. A lot of people are just going to fucking die from losing the [sp] Mass Relays, might as well fight the Reapers without activating the Crucible.[/sp]
Does weapon weight affect squadmate cooldowns? Or am I wasting a slot giving Liara's SMG reduced weight?
why do you want to win though? no one wins in war, right? lol
the whole point is literal extinction versus survival, not "everyone is happy" versus "bad day ):"
I've been thinking about this indoctrination theory and at the same time trying to actually somehow logically justify the last ~15 minutes.
[sp]
Let's say the indoctrination begins after we get hit by Harbinger's beam. We "wake up" and shamble our way to the beam.
1. This has been pointed out, but still, no need for reloading. Okay, no problem, I can live with that, could be just some kind of dramatic effect, I dunno.
Moving on, we get teleported aboard the Citadel. Waking up in the hallway, we hear Anderson over the radio. Now, this is what's bugging me here:
2. Anderson said he followed us up. Followed. When there was
a) nobody near the beam when we entered
b) he would have to be near us, or at least closer to the teleportation destination, than we were
Even so, ok, I can believe that, maybe there was some other hallway. This couldn't have been the only one, right? Moving on. We walk and get to the chasm.
3. Why the fuck would the hallway with dead bodies be connected to the room with the control panel for controlling the goddamn Citadel? Why?
Ok, ok, maybe the keepers actually need to use it for some reasons. Though that raises the question of why that particular hallway? But then:
4. The room housing the panel is a circular platform with a single bridge leading to it. There are no other doorways or bridges. So this must be the only way to get into that room.
If we assume that, then Anderson couldn't have possibly gotten there from some different teleportation destination because there isn't one that's connected to the room with the panel. Meaning he had to be in front of us, which is impossible because he followed us. So how the fuck did Anderson get there?
Even more, how did he not notice TIM standing around there on that small platform? Even if he wasn't in the room prior, where did he come from? Did he drop from the fucking ceiling like Spider-man?
The remaining holes were already discussed enough and I have nothing to add, really. All in all, this just feels wrong.
Another idea I had is that while Shepard's lying around there, after being hit by Harbinger, he's actually been transported by the Reaper forces to the Citadel via that beam, like the rest of the humans. Possibly the game could play out from there?
[/sp]
Just my two cents, hope I actually made some sense.
I do think there is more to it due to the dialouge from anderson before you reach the "panel"
it's just too odd and nonsensical...
I'm not going as far as assuming indoctrination right away though
why do you want to win though? no one wins in war, right? lol

Yeah, but survival might as well be extinction wit the endings we have. I'd rather not activate the Crucible at all if it's just going to fuck every species in the universe over.
then the reapers will wipe everyone out and everyone will just be extinct and the cycle will repeat?
[editline]13th March 2012[/editline]
it would have been interesting if they did keep that as an option actually

[sp]Destroying the Mass Relays[/sp] might just fuck up the next cycle as well, it's all confusing and dark due to the lack of epilogue.
I could accept the three endings we have now if we got some closure that tells us what the hell happens after such a tragic moment.

I don't suppose you have a link to the music from the first video, do you? I've looked but can't find anything. I'm glad they re-used Vigil's music again for the end of that scene, it has a way of making an impact.
On another note, since the Mass Effect 3 figures coming out in May supposedly have DLC included with them, how would you guys react if they made a Javik figure and included [sp] a code to get him ingame[/sp]? It might piss off people who bought the DLC already, but it also seems like an interesting way to make it available.
well it won't be the "next cycle" because there will no longer be cycles after that.
well it won't be the "next cycle" because there will no longer be cycles after that.
[sp]The Catalyst does say the Cycle will repeat itself. Maybe not all the Reapers are currently attacking the galaxy. Maybe he meant that they'll have a synthetic wipe out all life, but after that, no cycle. It makes no sense. [/sp]
Also, there's the fact that just before Shepard collapses onto the space elevator, her arms are absolutely coated in blood from her wound.
[sp] She / He wakes up on top of the citadel with clean hands. Could just be a continuity error, but how did she recover? It's not like the godchild said "I have repaired your wounds. You have made it this far and do not deserve to die in such a trivial manner" or something,"[/sp]
God, using pronouns with Shepard is annoying because i 100% associate Shepard as female because i've always played Femshep, right from the start of the series, but Shepard is canonically considered male.
I wanted to play femshep but no femshep/tali romance

I just use Shephard. We could also call Shephard "it" in that situation. :v:

Precisely. All of these logical holes are what's keeping me from believing that this was the true ending. I'm trying to find some kind of a rational explanation for everything, but I just can't, no matter how I try.
I just use Shephard. We could also call Shephard "it" in that situation. :v:
Well it's Shepard, without the H.
That's how Bioware halved the amount of lines they had to record. Don't use any pronouns, have everyone say Shepard.
Yeah, but you get to have Garrus romance which is infinitely more badass.
What's Tali and Shep's endgame romance scene like? 'cause Shepard x Garrus' endgame romance involves [sp]them having a lighthearted conversation about "Garrus and Vakarian storming heaven" and meeting up in the bar for drinks.
[/sp]
Tali's is probably some bullshit "OH SHEP HARD U R MY LUV WE R 2 BE TOGETHUR FOREVAR" right?
[sp]P. much.
Nothing bad about that though, it's how I like her :v:[/sp]

[sp]Not at all. She just wished she had more time. Twas more depressing than anything else, to be honest. [/sp]

There are plenty of "him/her" etc. but generally yeah, everyone just uses Shepard.

Damn son, conflicting memories it seems.
Well I'm on my second playthrough, plenty of time to remember.
[editline]13th March 2012[/editline]
I dunno, Femshep and Garrus' romance seems a lot more like how actual couples react rather than like some bullshit movie romance where every scene is layered in thick "I LOVE Us"
Femshep only says "I love you" to Garrus once in the entire game.
Yeah Shepard doesn't say it once, and Tali says it once.
[sp]The Catalyst does say the Cycle will repeat itself. Maybe not all the Reapers are currently attacking the galaxy. Maybe he meant that they'll have a synthetic wipe out all life, but after that, no cycle. It makes no sense. [/sp]
isn't it the catalyst that dictates the existence of a cycle?

i got that without romancing him lol
[editline]13th March 2012[/editline]
another thing to note is how the reapers have goals and such that are deemed literally beyond comprehension, even for the geth. You can get a lot of variable mileage out of that
Just imported my Renegade FemShep. Made a few changes to her face. I'd say that's an improvement.

Yeah but apparently he's so scared you might take the [sp] Destroy option that he tells you:
1) That you will die
2) That the Geth will die
3) That every synthetic being will die
4) That the Mass Relay will be destroyed
5) The cycle will start over again.
Kinda weird, right? [/sp]
I dunno, Femshep and Garrus' romance seems a lot more like how actual couples act rather than like some bullshit movie romance where every scene is layered in thick "I LOVE Us"
Like they have banter, a little flirting sometimes, but often just talking like really good friends.
Femshep only says "I love you" to Garrus once in the entire game.
Male Shepard says it one time, as well. You're given a choice to say it. At least if you romance Liara.
Didn't get an answer before, does weapon weight affect squadmate cooldowns?
Didn't get an answer before, does weapon weight affect squadmate cooldowns?
It does not. So you can drop the weightreducer.
You know, its funny. In mass effect 3, you bring everyone together to fight the reapers [sp]LIKE THAT MATTERS AT ALL IN THE END THOUGH[/sp] but what bioware has actually done has brought everyone together to hate mass effect 3's endings.
Do you ever get to see Tali's face?
Do you ever get to see Tali's face?
You get a shitty photoshopped stock photo in a frame after the Quarian-Geth war.
Yeah, that's it. No model, no great turn and show her face moment, just a photoshopped picture. :v:
