as i was saying above, i was fucking destroyed by the ending but having convinced myself to do a 2nd run, i still think it's well worthwhile. i can still recommend it. it helps if you're a nihilist [I]before[/I] the ending comes around though so it doesn't hit as hard

If it's on PC and he has used it then you need the account details since its bound to Origin.

Steam sells ME1 and ME2 for under $10 each at regular intervals. There will probably another sale around Easter.

I don't know if retail copies of ME1/2 are locked, but ME3 [i]requires[/i] an Origin account, that means it will be locked to your friend's Origin account. So you'd either be buying his entire Origin account, or paying full price to "borrow" the game.

Edit: Hell, you can get all three (box copies or download) from Amazon brand new for about $90.

I just don't understand how people are saying that the final 5 minutes of a game ruined the ENTIRE series for them. I was disappointed by the ending as with everyone else. But it was one hell of a ride. The characters and story are amazing. Shepard is one of my favorite game characters ever. You can't just ignore all the good things and fun times you had just because of a terrible end.

Basically, it's because the ending of the series totally invalidates everything you have ever done. So a lot of people feel like they can't really play the games now, because they're thinking "Why does any of this matter? [sp]The relays will be destroyed and the galaxy will be fucked no matter what.[/sp] "

Granted, I don't exactly feel that way. I can still enjoy the games. But I totally see their point.

[sp]Maybe the ending where Shepard supposedly awakens in the end is actually where he fainted, and it continues like it went off, you got up and shoot the that thing, earth is saved, and it saves us the trouble of worrying about endings. It'll be okay for the kid to be there, or as harbinger. Remember he did have visions, even back in the first game[/sp]

Whether or not we get choices again, can't wait. Not sure they're going to do more dlc missions/characters before you end game.
