If they don't release an ending DLC their future sales (and sales for planned ME3 DLC) are going to take a hit.
Actually, it's pretty much definite that they will at this point. With Bioware saying shit like "we can't say what we have in store", that at least guarantees there's something more to be had.
It physically hurts me to exchange any amount of dialogue with you.
goddamn it every time somebody says something differing to what you say it always devolves into a mindless flamewar directly because of you provoking it
Initially they planned him to be... like Saren-husk. You know, reaper-creature. With cannons. And all that. That could've been fun. Actually, I don't care. Anything could be better then what we have.
That would have been terrible. The Illusive Man is interesting because of his mental attributes not his physical ones. He's much more imposing as he is than just another run-of-the-mill monstrosity boss battle. Frankly, I like how The Illusive Man was handled in the endgame. It's afterwards that bugs me.
So if they did come out an ending DLC, what would you guys do?
:v: I'd probably download it. Cause I gotta see what sort of shit they'd pull
If the rumor mill is anything to go off of the DLC will be contentalicious and all free. If that's the case I'd get it. Otherwise... I'd judge it's worth based on content.
I guess posting this is as good a time as any:
The only thing I have to comment about in terms of gameplay is the journal. It is frustrating to tangle with and understand. Not only are the descriptions of the non-essential missions non-specific, but they are received randomly. Many of the missions I gathered early on in the game, but couldn’t complete because the planets and systems in which I have to go to get the objective are not unlocked until a later point in the game. Sometimes I’d find something via scanning and look at the journal only to realize it says “Someone on the Citadel may be looking for this. Look for them.” It doesn’t help that all the side missions, save for N7 missions and a couple other missions, are fetch quests (which has been mentioned time and time again). Although fetch quests don’t typically annoy me, the way the journal is organized (or lack thereof) and how the reward is more statistical than physical, it all ultimately feels like a waste of time and effort. Not to mention, the new aspect of ‘Reaper encounters’ when scanning is a strange idea, and quickly becomes frustrating when you scan a system, have to run away, do a mission, come back, try again, rinse and repeat or find what you’re looking for.
Other than that, the addition of a multitude of weapons, weapon mods and armor was great, a much improved version of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2’s inventory system. It really allows you to define your character’s strengths and weaknesses. As far as controls go, the only problems I had were the same with any game that utilizes one-button-does-all mechanics; that is, doing one thing when attempting to do another (rolling when you wanted to check/pick up something).
Oh, and the dialogue choices: I’m rather on the fence about this. On one hand it works out well and eliminates circular dialogue and pointless cut scenes (like when you check up on your crew members only to realize there’s nothing to talk about so you’re trying to skip the cut scene as fast as you can). On the other hand, it really limits your conversational choices to Paragon, Renegade, and Chit-chat. I figure they stream-lined it a bit for the action and story game styles, but that’s just me.
dat ass

I'm glad that BioWare changed parts of it but others I would have preferred they left in. For example, if they had killed Garrus and Tali in front of my very eyes I would have been extremely pissed. [sp]This also explains why that beam doesn't hit you directly, you would think that a million year old Reaper wouldn't have issues hitting someone dead on. Especially you know, since he didn't miss the people around you.[/sp]
somebody says something differing to what you say
What was 'different' about what he said?
Frankly, I like how The Illusive Man was handled in the endgame. It's afterwards that bugs me.
It would have been an amazing sequence if it wasn't almost identical to Saren's last encounter.
http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/4057/24532595.jpg
When the notes about the finale have phrases like "VAGUE TERMS" and "LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE" and "theories about EVERYTHING" it really makes me lose faith in them.
This was never planned, they hastily came up with an ending in a couple of months with the EXPRESS IDEA of making it vague and not answering fucking anything so that people would speculate about everything, which is exactly what we've been doing.
If they don't release some FREE DLC giving me some fucking closure I am never buying another bioware product.
Liara said it herself "When you work in secret it's easy to convince yourself that you have all the answers."
I mean I write a little, I'm a novice and even I know you don't pull this shit at the end of a trilogy. Hell it's not something you do when you have time constraints because it needs to be laidout properly to make sense. What's with the gaming industry using movie cliche's from the late 90s and acing like it's someamazing new idea. "Like the first Matrix"? Seriously?

Well, I liked that too. Maybe not him. Or him mutating after getting shot. Or something. Ending the game with go right, left or straight and get the ending you want using the space magic is bullshit. I'm not even saying anything about the plotrape they pulled off with what stunt. Pure gameplay perspective.
As a test I made a custom armor using the underwear model. It works just like the [sp]end game[/sp] armor in terms of description but if you use it you get the bonuses of all armor sets.

Okay, I stated the obvious, how was that any different than what you said to me? And if you have a problem exchanging dialog with me, simply don't. No need to flame about it. The two of us have been banned over a disagreement in the past, I have no desire to repeat that.

If I'd seen that I would have instantly closed the game and restarted the mission to pick some different cannon-fodder crew members like James Mclargehuge and Kaiden (because fuck his bitching).

If I had watched them die I would have thrown my keyboard through my monitor. That would have been a even bigger fuck you then the actual ending.

I dunno man, if they did it right it could have been a real memorable moment. The point would have been that we cared for the characters, so, really, throwing your keyboard through your monitor would have been playing directly into Bioware's hands, showing just how strong their hold is through well-written characters alone.

True. But if they had killed off Garrus I have a feeling the Bioware and EA head offices would be smoldering ruins by now.
I like how the "Final Hours" has just made us pissed even more knowing they did this on purpose.
5 bucks these shit endings are simply Casey Hudson and Mac Walter's egos getting to them.

I was holding out hope, but now I'm back to being slightly depressed again.

I was disappointed they didn't have very many deaths on the crew. I mean, other than [sp]the possibility of Ashley or Kaidan there's no one who dies in your crew[/sp]. This being the final chapter, I'd expect more losses. Or at least, more options that could lead to the deaths of crew members.
Also, wasn't there something in the leaked script about the possibility of Adams, Donnelly, or Daniels getting killed in the reactor in some situation?
I can't even bring myself to replay the whole series, even though I wanted to, after knowing how bad they fucked the ending up. It makes the whole thing feel so..pointless
5 bucks these shit endings are simply Casey Hudson and Mac Walter's egos getting to them.
oh shit maybe they're indoctrinated and want to take over EA by being even more terrible than they are

[sp]I mean, on the crew though. I liked how their deaths were handled and I wish similar things could happen in regards to those who fight with you throughout this game.[/sp]

[sp]I think my renegade Shepard could do it. He'd walk up to Mordin's bleeding corpse and say "Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong". Then later act all innocent towards Wrex before killing him[/sp]
Wow... I feel terrible for even suggesting that....
