I remember quite well my playthroughs
ME 1 : 70 hours 100% (Without DLC)
ME 2 : 50 hours 100% (Without DLC)
ME 3 : 30 hours More or less 100% (Without DLC, all journal entries done.)
I remember being surprised about that.
My ME1 and ME2 playthroughs took about the same time as yours while my ME3 playthrough was done in 24 hours. DLC included and all journal entries complete.
[sp]Well the Mass Relays are gone in every ending aren't they?
And Paragon doesn't necessarily mean not sacrificing the minority for the good of the majority.[/sp]
[sp]I never said the Destroy ending is renegade. I'd say more that it's the Paragon choice. Hell, I took this as my first ending with my Paragon Shep. The whole plan was to kill the fucking Reapers. If I don't destroy them, I have failed the millions I have reunited for the cause. It just felt like a total bitch slap to destroy the Geth/EDI and the Mass Relays. Why the fuck did they add that? What was the great reasoning except "SPECULATIONS :D"[/sp]

Well, okay, I have to admit I spent some time at the bar dancing. And a lot of time doing those fucking boring fetch quest (Out of system, back into system, out of system, ... etc). Plus, I dunnoh, I maybe could've been faster but I really enjoyed wasting time in the game. Like my time wasted dancing on Omega in ME2. I am shameless.
Woohoo! Bought the Spectre pack in multiplayer and got EXACTLY what I wanted - Asari Adept class!
Besides the endings and all, we have to come into agreement Bioware makes some of the best music and cinematics in any game

My first Spectre box had Quarian Infiltrator AND Quarian Engineer. I didn't even know it was possible to get 2 classes.

Don't get me wrong, not saying you were slow. Just saying that I was surprised about the fact that ME3 took about 50% of the time it took to complete ME2 and even less compared to ME1.

This gives me goosebumps everytime. Especially the part after 3:05.
IMO the cinematics weren't that amazing. Sure, they got you pumped and all but the space battles were kinda lame in hindsight. [sp]Palaven battle? 2D explosion sprites looked horribad. Reapers didn't use the advantage of their longer effective weapon range, but rather charged straight into the Turian lines.[/sp]
[sp]Geth-Quarian? Copypasted Quarian ships everywhere, jesus how lazy can you get.[/sp]
[sp]Earth battle? No tactics. The united fleet arrives as a single huge mass for... some reason. They had time to spread out, and space is not an ocean. They were a single gunline when they could have been a gunwall. No Thanix cannons on human vessels because Bioware was lazy.[/sp]
Mass Effect 1 space battle > Mass Effect 3 space battles
There weren't any Thanix cannons period. I wanted to see hundreds of those blue streaking lines flying across space to hit the Reapers.

I saw a couple. The Nefera and The Destiny Ascension fired a couple.
And the Normandy fired a bunch when going for Earth.
The romances in ME3 are kinda iffy for at certain points. [sp] Like after Thessia Liara is pretty much in shambles and the best you get in paragon interrupt of slamming your hand down and giving her a pep speech.[/sp] I mean something along the line of LOTSB where you can get kiss interrupt to calm her down.
I saw a couple. The Nefera and The Destiny Ascension fired a couple.

I'm watching it again to see if I notice any.

I see something that looks similar at 2:42 but I don't think they were Thanix cannons.
It's not Reaper beamy enough. Just large projectiles.
I saw a couple. The Nefera and The Destiny Ascension fired a couple.

I'm pretty sure I didn't see the Destiny Ascension fire once, you sure it wasn't just some random asari dreadnought?
And Normandy's fire looked like it does with unupgraded weapons in mass effect 2, I never spotted a beam.
In fact, you have to be careful with the synthesis ending. [sp]Since there is no epilogue, there is no description on the extent of biology modification to the organism. Maybe Joker or Edi aren't even the same character at the end, since they all have a part of shepard in them. You can't take anything at face value since there's no epilogue. You don't put Reaper code into every being unless Shepard has Reaper code in himself, and no that's false. You don't merge the Reapers with everything else, You merge Shepard with everything else. Every species in the galaxy are forced to take this change of person. They won't be the same again - as a Paragon, you just stole the free will of everyone. Maybe one of those poor Children didn't want to be a perfect composite of machine/organic.
The Synthesis ending looks good on paper, but it's horribly intrusive to every being in the universe, since now everybody is 'connected'. Of course Joker and Edi would hug each other, this ending is granting them their dream (Even if they shouldn't know it.)
Anyway, I find it to be the most ridiculous ending. A wave of energy that changes the DNA of every organic so they are partly synthetic? A wave of energy that changes every synthetics to become partly organic? Isn't there like risk coming with mixing DNA where you shouldn't? Plus, you are making the Reapers win, congratulations.
The destroy ending is the best one - for the Reapers at least doesn't fucking win. Those bastards kills like thousands of billions of lives, caused massive genocide every 50 000 years, and you're going to let them win? Seem like a bad idea. [/sp]
[sp]The fact that EDI and Joker hug prove that the free will is instated. And wasn't free will the reason the Geth kicked the Quarians out in the first place? The Reapers dont win in any ending, this one especially, because the sole purpose of the Harvest is negated. [/sp]
Looking at Quarian appearance options..and I can see skin tone.
Bioware is trying to get Tali fans giddy.

I think that just changes the tint of the mask.
Yes they are:
Fucking.
12 hours to go until FACEPUNCH Shepard stream.
On the subject of the ending, GOD FUCKING DAMMIT THAT WAS HORRIBLE
It ruined my day.
Didn't like ME3 in general compared to the previous two. Wasn't shocked at shit end.
IMO:
ME2 > ME1 > ME3
Didn't like ME3 in general compared to the previous two. Wasn't shocked at shit end.
I loved it up until the last ten minutes.
It went from really inspiring and heroic to dark and depressing.
IMO:
ME2 > ME1 > ME3
I'm going to be shot for this but...
ME2 > ME3(first 95%) > ME1 > ME3(last 5%)
I'm going to be shot for this but...
ME2 > ME3(first 95%) > ME1 > ME3(last 5%)
I'm of P. much the same opinion. Except maybe I'd turn that first > into a =.
Say what you will about the ending, but that scene with [sp]the soldiers fighting, and that music playing as the Reapers encroach on them before the color explosion hits[/sp] was beautiful. We needed more of that.
Unless you did poorly and then [sp]everyone dies and the Earth is wiped clean[/sp]
[editline]16th March 2012[/editline]
ME1 is a fantastic game that stands on it's own very well
ME2 is a good, maybe even great game, but really benefits from playing ME1 first
ME3 is a great game, [sp]up until the last 10 minutes. Then it goes to shit.[/sp]
ME > ME3 (up until the endings) > ME2
