Is it just me, or did the plot of the games start to go downhill with the me2? I mean they got back on form with 3, but fucked it up at the ending.
Secretly Mass Effect is our future timeline, they simply gave us a bad ending so we would rally together to defeat the reapers early.

As far as the reapers go though - I somehow doubt they would ever manage to kill off the entire galaxy in a cycle. It's just too big. Also I can see TIM ordering a bunch of his operatives to make secret bunkers the moment he heard about the reapers. And make them that not even knows where they'll be.
Impossible to clean up everything.

Explain how they did it a bunch of times already for a bunch of other cycles before the one we're playing right now?
Out of everything in the last cycle, only 1 prothean survived and that was probably one hell of a stroke of luck, so I think the reapers are very capable of killing everything in a galaxy (Save for less evolved lifeforms since they don't care about those) in a cycle that lasts 50,000 years.

It wouldn't be so bad if we got some news, whether they say "We're going to change it" or even "we will never change it" the shitstorm would die down at least a bit more.

actually they seem to have gotten awfully lucky.
Both Ilos and the brotheans cryo malfunctioned and didn't wake up people as necessary so their power failed. Had it not happened, it's pretty safe to say that the protheans would have been able to prepare on the fringes of the galaxy.
Also consider the current races are able to stand agaisnt the reapers to a minor extent. Imagine if they build up fleets for another two centuries. That could easily have been an extra hundred dreads thrown into the mix somewhere. And the reapers would have very hard pressed to stand around and fight.

Not [i]a[/i] generic space marine, but the ultimate embodiment of being an utterly featureless soldier who happens to be in space. And around that time I was so very tired of GSM and his quest to shoot all the space things just because.
Come to think of it, I actually wanted to make something akin to Zaeed Massani when I first got to character creation. Guess getting my concept character as a buddy later is close enough in the end.

Realize in From Ashes [sp]I don't even have it lol, that the Prothean bunker on Eden Prime was hidden from the Reapers, hell the only reason they found it is because some people betray them, that being said if they weren't betray there would've been around 1 million Protheans still alive.[/sp]
Finally finished ME2's DLC the other day, ending with Kasumi - a lot shorter and much less interesting than I'd hoped. Anyway, started ME3 yesterday and it's a lot better than I was expecting... I'm hoping they do something with the ending before I finish playing it, but I doubt that.
What I am noticing is the typical lack of 'flow' to the game that they've always had. I start on Earth, it's all action packed and exciting and then I take off to go get help while everyone on Earth holds on for dear life... Only to fly to Mars, spend an hour or two shooting endless bad people in the face then fly to the Citadel and sit around chatting. The worst part is, after all that mundane crap, you get to the Citadel, and every person and every news report is saying "Earth fell pretty fast and it's all over for the humans!" - it feels like you missed 10 hours of an awesome battle or something.
That's my biggest gripe really. The characters so far are very uninteresting and I don't feel any connections like I did in ME2, but the awful flow of events is what irks me the most.
Playing multiplayer some times can be so frustrating. Even if I set the difficulty to bronze, I join a match and within 5 seconds, someone has a vote kick against me.
How am I supposed to level up if I get kicked from bronze, it makes no sense.

Fair enough, but there's something about the gender line that makes the character hard to sympathize with, for me.

God, the Salarian Engineer is a beast, his primary ability just eats shields, shame he can't take much damage. That, and I've yet to unlock any good weapons, all I've gotten is the Mattock, an SMG, and the Raptor Sniper.

also, i just found out that the supposedly " cut" anderson dialogue everyone was talking about is actually said by anderson in game if you didn't romance anyone. hence shepard saying that he would not be a good dad and is just a soldier.
