Shepard just spends [sp] his time watching kids from his quarters. What can you do when suspended after killing 300 000 civilians, batarians or not [/sp]
It would have been nice if the events of Arrival were even mentioned :v:
Shepard just spends [sp] his time watching kids from his quarters. What can you do when suspended after killing 300 000 civilians, batarians or not [/sp] I can understand the intro being shorter on the plot development side.
google robbaz + me3 demo for the answer to that.
demo
The writing that IS present is stiff and pretty bad, I think whether it's truncated or not is ignoring the larger issue.
Mass Effect 2 had me compelled to beat the whole game as fast as possible. I couldn't put it down. But I wanted to quit the ME3 demo before I even finished. what the hell happened
Mass Effect 2 had me compelled to beat the whole game as fast as possible. I couldn't put it down. But I wanted to quit the demo before I even finished. what the hell happened
80% of the demo is entirely lacking in context, so that certainly doesn't help. There was no motive to help Mordin and Wrex save the female Krogan, because there was no discussion as to why we were doing it. There was no motive against the Cerberus soldiers other than "They're shooting you."
is it because they got the hambeast twilight fans to write this game?
That's nothing as compared to hands in DA2
What the fuck My fingers aren't even that long and I've got thumbs longer than most people's middle fingers
80% of the demo is entirely lacking in context, so that certainly doesn't help.
The context has nothing to do with bad writing. Even out of context good writing is still good.
Hamburger Helper didn't help write ME3. The demo just had most dialogue cut out for some reason. Avoiding spoilers I guess.
Hamburger Helper didn't help write ME3. The demo just had most dialogue cut out for some reason. Avoiding spoilers I guess.
What could possibly be spoiled in the intro to the game?

I'm sure it was just because it was the demo and they didn't want to put too much into it.
What could possibly be spoiled in the intro to the game?
Shepard being a mass-murderer might be one thing. Also, one of the top complaints by people who are not fans of the game already is..."There's too much talking." So...make of that what you will.
Played co-op with my friend, got lvl 6 Vanguard in 2-3 rounds. Pretty intense, also your enemy dont let you sit down behind cover, always try to flank you. Kinda disappointed about getting new stuff like weapons\mods\gear\etc. [sp]Buying crates (god, tf2). Still you can get money from every round, so no need to collect them[/sp]
Shepard being a mass-murderer might be one thing.
I guess that goes along with their "ME 3 is a great place for new players to start".
To anyone who wants access to ME3 MP and doesn't have BF3 Bioware have got a recruitment page up on FB which means you can get in MP early on Xbox and PC. http://apps.facebook.com/mass-effect/
I'm really liking the gameplay, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the multiplayer.
The context has nothing to do with bad writing. Even out of context good writing is still good.
... We actually agree on something. brb checking mayan calendar. Just leaving this here: Someone managed to recreate me1-2 Fshep pretty well. http://masseffect2faces.com/index.php?faceID=1925

[editline]15th February 2012[/editline]
Right, but I think the introduction would have benefited from a little more stage-setting. More elaboration on Shepard's detainment, an explanation of the trial that led to said detainment, stuff like that. Also, since when does the human council believe Shepard about the Reapers, and why were they all smacked with the idiot ball?
Should've done a DA:O and had the Reaper invasion of Earth show up halfway through the story, with the first half of the game trying to fight back Reaper incursions and gathering allies while the Reapers steadily advanced towards Earth. Instead we got a totally-not-Suicide Mission "Gotta take back Earth!" story right from the start.

I remember I posed the idea a while back of Reaper agents infiltrating the outskirts of the system. "Testing the waters," so to speak. Shepard and other squads would explore these infiltrations and push the Reapers back slowly. Meanwhile, on the Citadel, bizzare things start to happen. Strange sounds, civil unrest, stuff like that. Make the populace grow more and more concerned as the game progresses as the Council steadily loses control and more outskirt colonies go dark. And then, right at the breaking point, the floodgates open and the Reapers fly en masse into the system. THAT would have been cool.
Need a friend to send a request to get in.
Bwahaha? Multi accounting on facebook. No chance I use my real one.
Bwahaha? Multi accounting on facebook. No chance I use my real one.
Good idea none of my mates have Origin.
With this "Battlefield 3 with ME3" deal, would that work if I get it online from Amazon? A little short on money, but have a gift card to make up the difference at the moment. Or does it have to be through Origin?
It seems that there is a cutback on WAY too much visually. Some of the animations are stunning, but things like facial animations not syncing with the voices correctly, some of the animations are just lazy (They made the running animations worse.) the 2D images of people running on the street (Very N64 Guys). It wouldn't be so bad if the textures on some things weren't so terrible and random, some things are high resolution, but things that should be, like armour that you're seeing on squadmates are super low res.. I get that the consoles have restrictions, but, come on, you didn't have to remove that much for the PC version, and could have upscaled the textures at least.
obviously the demo was skimmed of depth to appeal to the widest audience and make people who normally wouldn't, put down their halos and call of duties, and go rent/buy mass effect 3 since they see it as an action shooter now. Surely that can't have any negative effects for the final product.. right?

Skyrim might have been developed with the Xbox 360 in mind, but the huge amount of modding that can be done makes it one of the best PC games I've played in years.
Don't hold your breath thinking that the textures in the final game will be any different than this demo. You'll get a "high-res texture patch" in 3-4 months because that's EA's thing now.
Good idea none of my mates have Origin.
Holy shit I have to finishe the demo a second time now on my origin alt account! Now I have 4 accounts just to get early access, but it's a matter of minutes now. Biowares facebook & origin buttplug is nasty.
