Well I just tried a Krogan Soldier. Worst mistake I ever made. They are so bulky and slow and take forever to get into and out of cover. I may be doing it wrong, but the lighter more nimble classes feel SOO much more lethal.
I've been thinking about the ending cinematics; I think they're very good on their own, but when you stack them up against each other and see they're all the same, plus everything that leads up to them, their goodness diminishes somewhat.

It's just, in the context of the rest of the game, the ideas are so inappropriate and nonsensical
They were cool cinematics (although it's weird that they use that one scene on earth that looks like it's done by the same people that made the cinematic trailer, but have every other cinematic use the game engine. it's a bit out of place. it would have been really cool if other parts in the game used that style too but I can understand if it's too expensive) on the surface. They had a nice feel and they were well made. But the whole point is the story they tell and what's actually happening in them is contradictory to the franchise and nonsensical to the general plot, as well as providing almost no closure and speculation for the sake of speculation.
The little bit I've played as Femshep in ME3 has made me believe Meer is a superior VA. Hale is a good VA, just not as Shepard.
Funny, it's the opposite for me. I prefer Hale as shep but Meer is a much superior VA overall (in the ME series at least. I'm sure I've heard Hale in a billion different games I can't name right now). [editline]27th March 2012[/editline]
I find the Asari Adept to actually be the best in Gold, atleast when I played mine, I'd use stasis bubble on everything that had no armor, Warp on everything that had armor and just spammed Throw for infinite biotic explosions, not once have I NOT been leading the scoreboard in a gold game like this.
That's pretty much the only class I want at this point.
Going to replay the whole trilogy- it's been too long since I played ME1.
Yeah, I'll agree that the parts with the kid are pretty stupid.
"Everyone's dying! You can't save me!" Should be a renegade option to drag the kid out of the vent and kidnap him to the Normandy.
Well, i've finished Mass Effect 3 at last. Been a long journey, enjoyed plenty of it, and chose the destruction ending; controlling the Reapers seems too risky, and whilst synthesis being the "pinnacle of evolution" kinda makes a weird kinda sense, I honestly don't see the logic behind how the mass relays can augment organics and synthetics to become cyborgs. If there was nanotechnology involved, then I could understand somewhat, but mass effect alone shouldn't be able to do that. I'll follow-up my views later; too little time before I need to go to college.
"Everyone's dying! You can't save me!" Should be a renegade option to drag the kid out of the vent and kidnap him to the Normandy.
I honestly wanted to grab him by the scuff of his neck and drag him out, and was disappointed when I couldn't do so.
Yeah, that's what my Shepard would have done. She's a kind of "I'll do what's best for you, whether you like it or not!" Paragade style. Also, any other Femshep players, is it just me or does Femshep hit on Vega like every fucking conversation she has with them, y'know, when I don't tell her to? Femshep keeps going "HEY VEGA U SO STROOONG" and then vega goes "Are you hitting on me Commander?" and you have to reject him like "LOL NO U SILLY BOY" It's really fucking annoying because my Shepard is loyal to Garrus 5ever.
Yes, it's a bit annoying.
Yes, it's a bit annoying.
The "Lola" comment made me want to rape him with a shotgun.
FUCKING FLIRTING WITH VEGA AGAIN WHEN I DON'T WANT HER TO.
I personally don't mind the flirting itself since I just see it as teasing the new guy, but this is one of those parts where the horrible autodialogue really shows.

As a solider it's perhaps best to put the points mostly into extra health, even moreso when you enter rage mode. Take a weapon with a melee damage enhancement if you have one. As a solider you can take extra weapons, unless you want to spam carnage all day in which case just take a shotgun. As a Krogan you have one objective. SMASH EVERYTHING! Once you get three melee kill you'll enter rage mode, which, depending on how you spec it, will make you a damn near invincible wall of "I CAN'T HERE YOU OVER HOW INVINCIBLE I AM!" or a one shotting death machine of "FUCK YOU AND EVERYTHING ELSE FOREVER!" (If you spec it right you can more or less take out anything besides, Brutes, Banshees, Primes and Atlas' in one shot.") However he has a long stagger after doing a heavy melee and because he runs forwards while doing so, he can miss. If you are up close, it may be more effective to go for the headbutt (light melee) which will probably knock most enemies down to half their HP and stagger them long enough to go for another. It's also worth nothing that at higher levels you can easily take down two bars of an Atlas' armour in one hit without rage mode. I was in a team with 3 other krogan, Not once did we actually shoot an atlas, and this was on silver. In short the krogan is a Massive burst damage bullet sponge, He does his damage quickly and brutally on a single target.

Depending on which diffculty you want to play, I personally always aim for a viable build in gold, you might as well use the Krogan sentinel/soldier as a moving weapon platform since you can stay out of cover for much longer than other classes, melee is great fun but in Gold you'll just get wrecked.

Vega is a good character. He has depth, he's likeable, and he's pretty funny too. He's down to earth and is very believable as a person. He has his ups and downs, and Freddie Prinz Jr does a stellar job at voicing him I don't get the hate. I think it's just people not looking past his juice head veneer and realising that's not his character at all

I have grown to care about my other squadmates (except Kaidan), and he just shows up at the last minute expecting me to care.
Nobody's expecting you to care about them. But since he's a well developed character, I do care.

Yeah, Vega got some good and funny lines, But i didn't care about him as much as the others
Nobody's expecting you to care about them. But since he's a well developed character, I do care.
Wait... you're saying that the developers were never expecting me to care about them... but I should care about them? Not saying he isn't well developed. It's just that I'm more likely to use returning favorites like Garrus, Tali, or Liara. James is sort of overshadowed by characters I already have formed attachments to. ...Actually, that's another thing that bothered me a bit. Where did all this bromance with Kaidan come from? I never used him in ME1, and never really liked him. And he doubted me more than anyone, while Tali, Garrus, and Joker stuck with me to the end.
Yeah, Same here I honestly care way more about Steve then Vega. Yeah, Vega got some good and funny lines, But i didn't care about him as much as the others
Then what's the problem? It's the last game in the series. Of course there are gonna be some new characters. Naturally you're not gonna have time to establish an emotional connection to them over the course of the game, that's a given. They dont' get in the way, you don't dislike them, they're enjoyable. The best case scenario is if they're good characters who are funny and interesting, as opposed to characters who piss you off just having to look at them cough reporter bitch cough
Wasn't saying it's a problem, He's good, I just think they did a better job with Steve to get him likable Most of it is in personal taste anyway
Fucking Kaiden. He's pretty much the exact same character as Carth (voiced by the same guy) from Star Wars: KotOR. They look pretty similar, they act pretty similar and they both have that same bitchy, "I don't know if I can trust you." attitude. If you save his ass from dying on Virmire all he does is complain and act like you're suspicious and question all your choices or try and get all deep and emotional about his own choices because he's a pansy bitch who can't live with himself. To summarise, Kaiden can eat a dick.
Wasn't saying it's a problem, He's good, I just think they did a better job with Steve to get him likable Most of it is in personal taste anyway
who is steve
who is steve
Cortez, your kodiak pilot
oh. steve is okay but hes not a better character than vega. steves gayness was a little bit forced like 'LOOK, LOOK WE HAVE A GAY CHARACTER THAT ISNT SHEP' i mean its great that hes gay but no other characters get up in your face about their dead wives, you gotta dig to get them to tell you that stuff. but cortez is all like MY DEAD HUSBAND MY DEAD HUSBAND every time you talk to him apart from that though, he was kind of a nothing character. he could have been worse, but as it stands he wasnt anything special
They both suffer from "Generic Bioware first squadmate disorder" It's the same thing as Jacob, bioware always have an "everyman" as the first squadmate. In fact, Mass Effect 3 probably had the most interesting everyman first squadmate in a bioware game yet (Vega) Kotor: Carth Mass Effect: Kaiden Mass Effect 2: Jacob Mass Effect 3: Vega I haven't actually played either of the dragon age games, so I can't vouch for them.
I know in Origins it's Alistair. He's actually pretty cool by "Generic Bioware first squadmate" standards. Jacob in ME2 wasn't too bad, he had his moments.
Have any of you guys tried the Arc Pistol in multiplayer? Heavy weight, but surprisingly high damage.
