The Total Recall reboot looks really Mass Effecty:
The only people I've seen defending the ending are either clearly in denial ("It makes sense to me!" *Refuses to elaborate*) or they haven't played it yet.
Saying that people who disagree with you are "In Denial" is the weakest argument ever.
Freud used it to defend psychoanalysis, which has the least evidence out of any psychological theories due to the fact that it's completely immeasurable.
I'd have been happier if the series had ended at the first game. They retconned the Protheans surely they can retcon this?
I don't think they retconned the Protheans(?)
They just justified it by saying that "Prothean" is an umbrella term for many species under one empire.
How can you TELL
Easy, that rear tail thing. The triangle on the back. The SR-2 doesn't have that.

They specifically modified a then-canon flashback (the Prothean beacon) to fit in with the Collector design.
That "justification" is otherwise known as a retcon.

I had to look at the toy ships to understand what it meant by the SR2 being "Bigger".
(Speaking of which I had all but one of the models god damnit)
I thought ME1 should have blue, ME2 needs Orange, and ME3 needs a return to blue
I wonder if the colour scheme change was to get fans to think ME3 would be more like the first.
ME3 should be a gradient of red, green, and blue.

Implication may have been that the "Protheans" in the flashback were one of the species under the name "Prothean"?
I don't know why they'd retcon everything we know about the Protheans for the sake of a single DLC character's appearance.
[sp]Dunno about you guys, but my main gripe with the ending(s) is that your choices do not matter. For instance, if you made peace between thr gypsies/geth, telling that to the child ghost fugnugget should give you more options/responses. Or being able to ask that brat anything at all would have improved the ending a lot for my, appart from the obvious logical errors. [/sp]

To be fair, the only people calling them Protheans were Shepard and Liara because they assumed that's what they were. It was never confirmed. And the Codex is in-universe.
Nevermind, just rewatched the Prothean vision from ME2 and it shows what clearly looks like a Collector's body just copy/pasted onto the original vision, heh.

Thing is I don't see how the choices you made would make any difference at that point - The battle's essentially won in that you reached your destination.
The War Assets thing as an idea makes a lot of sense - Everything you do either gains or loses resources, and the outcome of the final battle depends on those resources.
It's just that they reduced it to a mere statistic and it never goes further than that.
It should have been a lot of interactions which can vary depending on the choices you made/resources you gained.
Like in ME2 - In the suicide mission, there are multiple things that can go wrong if you choose the wrong squaddies. THey could have done the same - Lost the Geth? Something goes wrong. Have the Krogan on your side instead? You can fix it, although you take some losses along the way.
Also I wanted to see the Drell/Hanar fleet :(

THE GROUND MOVES HNNNNNG
other than that they're fucking awesome
Right so I want to play ME2, but I don't want a default Shep, and I have no ME1 save. I first played ME1 on xbox 360. Completed it, and my hard drive mucked up. Completed it on another hard drive again. Brother steals hard drive and sells it. Get it on PC, get a good ways into it on the PC. PC breaks down, is a prebuilt one, and it does not want to relinquish control of the HD.
So I know there was some comic for the ps3 version or whatever, where you can choose major ME1 choices, is there anything like that for the PC?
Why yes, there is!

These are good, BUT
1. "A game by" makes them look like posters for a Pixar film
2. You should use one of the more post-modern-ish Bioware logos
3. The color scheme is kind of off, the first ME was 90% blue
4. THE GROUND DOESN'T MATCH UP AAAHHH
5. You might want to use an outline of the Collector base for ME2, maybe.

Well I've not seen a single arguement in favour of the ending which actually used any evidence to show that it worked, only "Well I didn't mind it."
Well I've not seen a single arguement in favour of the ending which actually used any evidence to show that it worked, only "Well I didn't mind it."
The evidence is in the fact that I really DIDN'T mind it. You're trying to tackle a subjective matter in an objective way. It's not going to work.
second one is missing the best guddamn mercenary in the galaxy.
Surely it would be even MORE confusing for newcomers?

Or, y'know, until new advanced life evolves.
[sp]Except it'll never be as advanced as the old races ever again ;-;[/sp]

[sp]Javik explains that Ilos had once belonged to a species pre-dating the Protheans, implying that the statues you see there are of that species.[/sp] Up until that, I'd forgotten / didn't know in the first place how Liara picked Ilos out of that mess.
But given how long it took them to get around to that, and in DLC no less, it still seems like bullshit.
well that looks cool OH FUCK STEALTH SHEPARD
So that's what liara is looking at

I dunno, the same explanation is given for the citadel [sp]And Thessia[/sp] so...

THE ENDING IS OBJECTIVELY BAD!
I don't care if you like it, or just don't dislike it. That doesn't change the fact that the ending fails on a thematic, structural and characteristic level.

You can like the ending all you want, but you should accept that it's objectively bad. I love Alpha Protocol, I play through it constantly because I love it so much, it still has fucking terrible gameplay and many gamebreaking bugs. I accept that it's bad.
So that's what liara is looking at
She's studying the rare Sheploo phenomenon, of his face appearing in atmospheres of planets with high concentrations of eezo.

Also, completely off topic, but I heard a line in a fan trailer "Your Galaxy is in sight", who says this?
will I be able to kill off Jacob in ME2?
also do I have to get all the squad persons? I dont like zaeed can i skip him or something?
will I be able to kill off Jacob in ME2?
Oh wait, yes. Misread that as 'ME3'.
