Amazing something as short as the ending of a game can completely ruin the rest of it.
Someone Sent BioWare 400 Cupcakes
It seems angry Mass Effect 3 fans still want to protest the game's endings. This time they're sending the studio hundreds of cupcakes.
A user on the BioWare forums quickly organized a donation pool of over $1,000 and made a massive order of approximately 402 cupcakes from a local bakery near BioWare's Edmonton studio. "As fans, we want Bioware to do right by us, and fix the endings for Mass Effect 3. But we also want to let Bioware know, that we trust them, and have faith in them.
"Bioware has been slammed by negativity from all sides in the last few weeks. This is our way, as fans, to drive our message home, but in a (literally) sweet way. We want Bioware to add some more 'sweet' to their 'bittersweet' ending. What better way to do this than with CUPCAKES :-D."
The order has been placed and the invoice as proof was posted online (see below). The cupcakes are colored Red, Blue and Green and labeled A, B or C as a dig at executive produce Casey Hudson's statements where he said, “It’s not even in any way like the traditional game endings, where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got ending A, B, or C…The endings have a lot more sophistication and variety in them.”
Don't worry, I still enjoyed most the game; it's just the ending that left me with blue balls and disappointment that I don't like. Might sound like i'm entitled or something, but that's because we are; big difference between subjectively feeling entitled and objectively BEING entitled, and t's a fact that we're entitled to a better ending; many of us have bought all three of the games, providng our dedication to the franchise, and we deserve a better ending than what we were given.
Reserve the lousy endings for the lobscouse late-comer peasants who think they can just jump into the franchise in the last part of the trilogy, and give those true dedicated folks the stuff they deserve for free. We gave you our money EA, we paid many dollars and pounds, and we want our money's worth thank you very much.
Still standing by my no-more-EA-purchases doctrine; they'll have to work hard to regain my trust and money, and I won't buy any more Mass Effect stuff until they openly-apologise for all the bullshit they put us through. I'm gonna hold my breath, and even if I pass out i'm sticking to my guns.
Also, I disapprove of the cupcakes thing; even though they're trying to send a message with those cupcakes, 1000 dollars worth of cupcakes is NOT the right way to say "Please fix the game, the endings are bad". I'd rather they send them the decapitated heads of three of EA's prized racehorses, each one dyed a different colour, with an angry letter attached concerning how BioWare is indoctrinated and needs to slap the gun away from their head before breaking both of EA's knees with a crowbar.
As you all know i'm pI can sometimes be rather violent but still wouldn't really hurt anyone despite sometimes wanting to rip somebody's skull in two with my thumbs in their eyesockets.

I just read this and watched the Indoctrination video. I'm now convinced there is still hope and BioWare can pull it off with a tie-up DLC. It may still leave a bad taste or it might the strongest mouthwash in the world, but either way I'm now thinking this was an EA/executive rushing fuck up.

If Bioware sucked it up and rolled with the indoctrination theory they would regain a lot of consumer confidence, which right now is at an all time low for them. Hell the fans have done half the work for them by spotting everything that could be a sign.
Yeah, a lot of the stuff they can already use, such as when you go to the destroy ending, for no apparent reason, Shepard is fine after he gets a few shots off and starts to walk more steadily. That, and the random point where it makes it clear that somehow he has the same wound as Anderson (I still don't get that, since they've made a point to say he isn't indoctrinated, is that just laziness or poor afterthought?)

Even with that kinda thing i'd still be opposed to them unless they said "We apologise for what we did. Here; have this amazing free DLC!"
Only thing that'll win me back.

Yeah, if it's paid DLC then they'll lose even more people than if they do nothing.
There is just no way an EA-owned developer is going to release free DLC of this nature that cost money to develop.
endofrine
It would be so awesome if some game developer actually pulled off something like that.
I mean like, game get released. Ending is with very open and riddled with plot holes, make it depressing as well. Then 1 week after finishing the game you get a mail, "FINISH WHAT YOU'VE STARTED". Mail contains free DLC with the real ending.

I would prefer it if they admitted to having a shitty ending in the first place, but the way they're acting is more like "No, our ending is great, and that was our plan all along. Buy the DLC."
reapers invaded omega

aria goes with cerberus to do shit
cerberus kidnaps aria

I wonder how Mac Walters and the rest of the writing team feel about the reaction the endings.

They probably feel pretty awful. Either because they realise they messed up or, if you're completely cynical, because people don't understand their ~artistic vision~

The Mass Effect writers didnt write the ending, only Casey Hudson did.

I wonder how many emails on this subject have been sent to BioWare already? If it's under 100, something is horribly wrong.
Which address would it be best to direct such an email to?

dear god, that's amazing
I just wish they would fucking say something, anything. "Deal with the ending" or "we will do this post ending dlc" or "fuck you guys it was perfect."

They've already hinted many times at 'there's more to come'.

itll be epic... epic for the win..
itll be epic... epic for the win..
I specifically told you to leave the ship Allers...
Like I already said, I don't know if they planned it all along, but their best bet is, and also the thing that would make the most sense and make majority of people happy, is to play on the indoctrination theory card. It's like the ending would fit into it perfectly and then they could make a proper closure.
