oh. steve is okay but hes not a better character than vega. steves gayness was a little bit forced like 'LOOK, LOOK WE HAVE A GAY CHARACTER THAT ISNT SHEP' i mean its great that hes gay but no other characters get up in your face about their dead wives, you gotta dig to get them to tell you that stuff. but cortez is all like MY DEAD HUSBAND MY DEAD HUSBAND every time you talk to him
apart from that though, he was kind of a nothing character. he could have been worse, but as it stands he wasnt anything special
You could kind of look at that as being something do with the fact that he is gay though. I mean gay men are usually seem much more feminine than regular men, and women seem more prone to expressing their emotions than men do (who instead just bottle it all up most of the time), so perhaps in that regard it does make sense that he's more open with Shepard about his dead husband.
Straight people are always going to complain about gayness being "shoved in their faces" no matter how subtly and tastefully it's expressed. Cortez's sexuality isn't overplayed any more than the other romanceable characters--they have to drop a hint or two to signal the player, it's how games work.
That said Vega and Cortez have some of the best on-ship conversations.
YThey also said they'll be doing post-ending DLC.
Got a source? I can't remember this being confirmed.

Tali for the computers, Garrus for the machines. Rocking strong three games through, never gonna let you down.

Is there a Romance for Vega, because I like him and all but romancing him just seems weird.
So I just spent 4 days blitzing through the story. At first I was kinda like eh whatever about the ending, but the more I think about it the more I hate it. It wasn't just an artistic finish. [sp]They fucked over the entire galaxy[/sp]. I liked the entire mass effect universe, not just the story of intrepid spaceship captain shepard. After then ending events of ME3 [sp]there can't really be anything more[/sp] which pisses me off. I'm so mad bro.

Nope.
That "Other Prothean" vid was amazing. I had no idea who the guy's voice was, but then I read the description and turns out the "other Prothean" was in fact a guy from Jade Empire. And here I was thinking it was from something like Oddworld.

Really? I'd complain about any character shoving their pasts at my face - like you have no idea vega has any depth to him until a few conversations in, he starts letting you in - I just think Bioware overdid it with steve. I'm pretty sure he mentions his husband the very first time you speak with him. I played the game a second time, and I'm playing ME2 right now. Nobody mentions their past family or lovers in their first conversation. people start off pretty cold or professional with you, and the fact steve jumps right into 'im sad about my dead husband' it's almost kind of stereotyping him to be that overly friendly sharing gay person. It absolutely has nothing to do with Steve's gayness and i'm a little bit offended being called that straight guy who always complains about the in your face-ness of gayness. th89 u know me better than that, i roll w/ the gays. i just think steves gayness aspect is too forced, and instead of being natural it seems like bioware just trying to appeal to everyone and being pc and being like 'yeah he gay what of it', but in the process eliminated the subtely of him as a character. i don't think it matters whether or not someone is obviously gay or straight, but i think it should take a little more prying to find out whatever they are, like most of the characters. steve's gayness felt like bioware was trying too hard. it's great that he gay, but it could have been executed in a much better way. every convo with him he is mourning his dead husband. no other characters hit you over the head so bad with their problems. except fuckin kaiden and his 'I STILL DONT TRUST U SHEPARD EXCEPT NOW THAT I DO TRUST YOU BUT I STILL DONT' me what a cunt

that said, i also think kelly jumps right into flirting with you way too quickly as well. like the first time you meet her ur like id catch u kelly and shes like scissor me timbers shepard

I know it's a bit late but... JAY NAYLOR!?
I'm pretty sure he mentions his husband the very first time you speak with him.
Well, you kinda walk in on him listening to a recording of his dead husband. I think it only makes sense he'd explain to you what exactly happened.
So, you can only get rare weapons like Javelin, Black Widow, etc in Spectre Pack in MP?
Well, you kinda walk in on him listening to a recording of his dead husband. I think it only makes sense he'd explain to you what exactly happened.
having him play the recording during ur first interaction is the same as him mentioning it - the devs still made it super duper obvious
I know it's a bit late but... JAY NAYLOR!?
Isn't he the guy that draws all that furry stuff?
Not that I would know anything about that.
I'm more shocked by the fact Jay actually coloured it.
Isn't he the guy that draws all that furry stuff?

I have heard through very reliable sources that yes, he his the guy who draws all that furry stuff.
having him play the recording during ur first interaction is the same as him mentioning it - the devs still made it super duper obvious
if he mentioned it randomly then he's being over the top as you say. he had no choice in the matter though so it's just the devs pushing it right in your face. stupid, but not really on his fault, other than appearing to wear his heart on his sleeve.
[sp] How the hell did the reapers move the citadel, anyway? Did they force the occupants to get out and push?[/sp]
The Citadel has engines because it doesn't exactly orbit anything and the engines are needed to stabilize its movement/keep it still. Or in this case, move it to the Mass Relay which isn't that far.
Just finished Mass Effect 1 again. Sovereign is so bad ass.

I hate how, if you cannot best a silver challenge, you get shit all for your efforts.
I got to wave 9 and we all died and got 5000 credits and about 15000 XP.
At least it's not as bad as getting D/C'd during shuttle extraction so you get literally nothing.

Compression artifacts...compression artifacts EVERYWHERE.
Developers need to get it through their heads to just render those scenes in full 1080p, with Anti-Aliasing, at a reasonable bitrate. And you know what, if the Xbox 360 can't handle it (disc space or whatever), then re-render it for PS3 and PC. Guaranteed it would take all of a few hours. ME3 did a hell of a lot better than ME1 or ME2, but it's still jarring to go from 1080p to 720p

Yep, tho very low chance.
