I guess it kinda makes sense, if you can mess with multiplayer modifiers and stuff via Coalesced.bin then they need to lock it down somehow, and Origin probably can't really distinguish between MP and SP changes within the same file. Still pretty disappointing though, I guess you could just play offline
The fuck BioWare.
What an insane amount of bullshit. Who the fuck cares what people do when they play SINGLEPLAYER? It doesn't affect anyone. Except themselves. Honestly, why are you doing shit like this Bioware? Multiplayer bans, I can understand that absolutely no problem. But bans for singleplayer mods is just restrictive and stupid. If people want to spice up their game or change things a little who the fuck cares.
The fuck BioWare.
They didn't though.
Yeah, it's something that they should say they're technically against, due to DLC shit, but I don't think anyone here has gotten banned for modding the coalesced, and there are quite a few people here that have done so.
Well so much for putting dlc in the game that i dont get because of bullshit preorder bonuses.
I don't think they really have a choice. If they say "GRR WE HATE EA FOR THIS, BUT WE CAN'T SAY SHIT" then EA will get mad.
I think they still take their paycheck at the end of the day and keep their mouths shut though, which means they obviously don't have a huge problem with it. I don't see why Bioware doesn't just jump ship on EA and join up with a different publisher. Bungie, the makers of Halo, did that when they were unsatisfied with Microsoft. Developers these days always play the victims to the publisher.
I've been using a modified coalesced since about a week or so after release. Haven't been banned yet.
The fuck BioWare.
Modding is a valid reason for buying PC versions of games, they can fuck off
The fuck BioWare.
Wow, what a bunch of horseshit.

Really don't see how modifying anything in Singleplayer is worth banning over. Especially if I can only get the DLC that way, such as the pre-order bonuses that are ALREADY in the game through editing.
Really don't see how modifying anything in Singleplayer is worth banning over. To cheat in multiplayer, you modify the file Coalesced.bin. Get it now?
Well, considering that the program to edit that file existed for a significant period of time for the previous game, maybe they should have coded the multiplayer so that client side files could not affect it?
oh god i sound so sick in this video. i apologize to the people in the stream, i sound like total shit throughout the entire thing

This might kinda seem out of the blue, but have any other Xbox players been having problems with ME3's multiplayer? It seems that at pretty consistent times during matches (normally around waves 5-7), I'll either lag out and return to the main menu or just lag severely for a minute. It also removes me from any party I might be in at the time.
The fuck BioWare.
Does this mean I can't keep my N7 Defender Armor with a Sentry Interface? Fuck you Bioware.

I'm not banned yet and I have a massively modified coalesced. I just switch out to an unedited one when playing multiplayer.
I got a serious question: Why do people (everyone) hate the ending so much? I've played for some time now and I think I'm getting close to the end, I have seen all endings and tbh they're not that bad. Is it cause they're all the same and edited slightly?
Playing through Mass Effect again. Remembered this gem.

Because they go against every theme and idea presented beforehand in the series? Because there is a sudden sharp turn in terms of not only content but quality of content? Because it's absolutely riddled with plotholes?
Yeah! Born the same month as Commander Shepard!
Horay, Krogan Sentinel and Turian Sentinel in the same pack, too bad I already have both. At least it's less xp for me to farm to reprocess them for the event. Is it cause they're all the same and edited slightly?
The over-arcing plot of mass effect three is horrendous, this culminates in the end which makes no thematic sense, features teleporting characters, a departure from the original lead writer's intentions, the emasculation of the enemy into puppets of a never before seen deus ex chekhov, forces your protagonist to act completely out of character, recreates the architect scene from the matrix with a child, was created without the input of the best writers on the team *hi sylv, hi john*, provides essentially one ending with three different implications that aren't even addressed, two of which aren't even feasible within the universe's own fiction, and is just plain BADLY WRITTEN. It's a text book train wreck and will probably used by future writing classes on what NOT to do with the conclusion to an arc.
After playing through ME2 I didn't realize how badly they dropped the ball in ME3. They could have done so much but they just completely went the wrong way
Especially when you think about ME2's ending. ME2's ending was well done IMHO.
One of my top 10 endings for sure. It was super epic. I only wish ME3's would be half as epic.
One of my top 10 endings for sure. It was super epic. I only wish ME3's would be half as epic.
The space battle at the beginning of the mission was really promising. The whole thing is just a massive pile of wasted potential.
Does this mean I can't keep my N7 Defender Armor with a Sentry Interface? Fuck you Bioware.
It kind of depends. There's no inherent difference between a modified Coalesced and a legit one--the game itself changes Coalesced all the time, so Origin can't just run a hash check on it or something. It's probably programmed to look for specific things (multiplayer cheats most likely) and ban based on that. A lot of people have played online with modded Coalesced files and not had any problems. That said, if you don't want to tempt fate, you should probably be fine just swapping out your modded Coalesced when you play online.
