So I tried few rounds in coop and I can't say I didn't like it but I enjoyed it much less than I hoped.
I understand the coop in the demo is basically what we'll get in the final product with more maps, gamemodes and other stuff. If that's the case I have to mention few issues I have. For starters, please, let us choose the race. Instead of giving each race different powers, reflect the difference in health, strength, biotic or tech bonuses (or put even more effort into it and create completely new ability for each race). Then allow us only pick two powers from the class' abilities (plus the class unique ones). Of course, I'm not against restricting some class options like Drell/Asari Engineer that wouldn't make much sense. Or would they? Why not given us the freedom? There is still a lot of reasons to play the coop after that. Leveling up, upgrades, weapons, equipment, playing with friends...
I'm also very disappointed that most of the player models are simply rehashed armor pieces from ME2 (that also explains why the only race to get both genders are humans). That we again aren't able to fully "customize" ( read recolour) from the start.
For the moment I think I'll stop playing coop because surely the progress I'd make in the demo would be for nothing and I don't want to get tired of it too quickly. The game itself isn't even released yet and I already see myself annoyed by the fact I need to level up to play as one of the alien races. If I get ME3 it'll be entirely because of the single-player. As I see it, the multi-player part didn't receive as much attention as it should have.
you don't really level up to get the classes, you have to buy a crate to have a chance at them
wait this is really starting to sound like TF2
It's not nearly as enjoyable as I remember TF2 being when I used to play.
Oh no, no. It's not like TF2 at all. When TF2 was released everything that it had to offer was available to you from the start.
So wait, is multiplayer open now?
Man, I must be easy to entertain because my BF and I are having the fucking ball of our lives playing Co-Op together.

for BF3 early pass, 17th for everyone else
I got the Mattock in my starter pack :smug:

I thought everyone got the same starter pack.
I do believe the coop gets harder and more tactical as you progress, my main issue is that you can only begin as human male/female. And then be lucky to uncrate a different race like a goddamn unusual hat. At least you only spend game money.
As a matter of fact, hearing the devs cutting corners in the game (no holstering for example) I think the coop suffered mostly from it.

Except the Devs explained why holstering won't return, and honestly do you really need holstering?
Oh yes, I will just awkwardly put away my weapon in an active fire-fight zone and just stand here.
Nevermind that in ME2 in order to use any attacks you needed to have a weapon out (besides maybe biotics?)
I thought everyone got the same starter pack.
I got a shotgun.
Are people really complaining that they can't have all their games on one service? Are you serious? Is it so hard to have another program running which basically does nothing to your system other then leave a little icon in the corner. And it's not that hard to remember where you have the games, hell you can write it down on a piece of paper and place it where your game cases would've been if these services did not exist.
[editline]16th February 2012[/editline]
I can get the whole annoyance on delay when buying games but they are new and just need some polishing to fix all those small things.
Has nothing to do with whether it's convenient or centralized or not. Has rather everything do with EA's blatant greed and disregard for the people that fund their enterprises.

Randomized.
and honestly do you really need holstering?
I don't really need a lot of the things in the Mass Effect games, but having them is quite nice.
My apologies. I started Origin up, Steam and Origin run fine in the back ground.

ANOTHER?! AUGH

You're missing the point. I don't care for the holstering. It just shows you they had to remove simple features so that consoles could still handle running the game. Just look at some of the textures and animations.

like I've said before I doubt it'll end up looking like that on the final PC release
So quit getting your shorts in a knot.
The leader board is pretty cool, it can show your own country which is neat.

Doritos crash course can do that so ehhh
Doritos crash course can do that so ehhh
If someone wants to be impressed by something, let them. You don't have to come in and go, but this thing over here can do the same thing!
Holy shit infiltrator is so much fun, that recharge of the clock is so fast which is incredibly satisfying. I just need something that deals more damage so I can take them out more quickly while I'm behind them.
Doritos crash course can do that so ehhh
But a lot of games can't, or just don't, which is surprising.
Only thing I'm getting annoyed with is baby quitters erasing my progress because they need to shut the game off when they die. Make it to wave 5, got enough credits to buy a veteran box, host runs in front of an engineer turret and dies, game closes down and kicks me back to main menu.
Well, one way to prevent that would be something like this; if you ragequit as the host you are punished by losing experience points and/or credits, which mirrors the players losing what they could've gotten before you pulled a douche move that made all their hard work worthless. Ragequitting would probably be defined by quitting after you get killed, as opposed to quitting whilst alive.
Either that or try some of that newfangled "host migration" stuff.
A way/unlock to melee more and faster (against multiple opponents) would be awesome, and a sniper rifle with more bullets.
Vet Pack 13 and still no new race. RNG why do you hate me so?

I'm willing to bet ME3 will release looking like that.
I hated ME2 low res textures and I'll hate these.
If it wasn't for the story I wouldn't have played this.
Having both Steam and Origin up sucks alot of CPU power.
For of all no. Origin takes up very little powers, Steam doesn't really take too much either but its still slightly more because there's more stuff in it. Second of all is it really that hard to turn one off and turn the other one on? Really?

Man you guys are such whiners. Heaven forbid a game isn't REAL ENOUGH
Man you guys are such whiners. Heaven forbid a game isn't REAL ENOUGH
Dude.. have you seen.. you have seen..
We're not talking it doesn't look real. We're talking it looks like PS2 textures and we can't do anything about it.
His point is that the devs are being lazy and not really supporting the PC community. Just look at the everything on all button issue.
[editline]16th February 2012[/editline]
And I can agree that poor textures really brake the immersion. In motion they might be fine but when they are on screen for long and relatively big they pretty much ruin the feel.
