So guys. What if after Shepard's breath in the destroy ending. He really was indoctrinated. The races had him put into a Javik-esque time capsule, while the reapers kill everybody. 50,000 years later, the Shepard is found by the people of that cycle, and you play as Shepard for another trilogy alongside the Raloi, Yahg, and others!
Yea!

If the first DLC that they release is not related to fixing the cluster fuck ending, people will be even more furious and the shit storm BioWare would have to deal with will be 3 times as much. They'll be crucified.
yo does anyone know if it is possible in me2 to permanently have drunk mode on?

They'll almost certainly announce what they're doing with the ending at the same time. The first DLC was pre-planned, and probably finished by launch. They didn't expect the shitstorm that the ending raised. They'll need time.

DA2 wasn't a bad game. It was an okay game with fucking terrible character design and a bland city. Also the story went to shit about half way though and wasn't great to begin with.
Also the combat was annoying and too easy, and the waves were shit.
But it was still an okay game!
Seriously though, the DLCs were actually pretty good despite the bland boringness of the main game so there's still some hope.
Just saw this. I know it's repetitive but hey, everything that can be gotten.

Wait wait wait! Fuck, I missed this weekend's multiplayer event. What did you have to do?

To be honest, I would be fine with just text scrolling after the Shepard breath part.
It just scrolls down the screen ala star wars with mass effect music detailing what happened, including dialog. With an option to have it read by the guy who narrated the codex entries.
Yea!
If they just try to clarify the endings they'll be shooting themselves in the foot. The endings need to be completely redone.

Promote two characters.
And kill one geth trooper.

What if its clarifying that the indoctrination theory was correct, and then went on to let you play the end of the game?

When did it go to shit? when you left the caves and the game scrambled to find a plot, or when someone's frankenstein fanfiction was accidentally implemented?

I would count that as a redone ending becuase they would have to add the 'real' ending to it.
the issuethat there's a hefty difference between traveling faster than light and getting anywhere.
Traveling at the speed of light, getting to the closest star to Earth would still take 4.2 years.
If I recall, Mass Effect ships can go something around 12 lightyears in 24 hours, which means the rough maximum speed is 0.5 lyrs/hr. It would take eight hours at this speed to get from Sol to Proxima Centauri, the CLOSEST solar object to our system.
At this speed, you can cross ~4,300 lightyears annually (without accounting for stops, fuel, etc.) The Milky Way is ~120,000 lightyears across. This means, even assuming you have absolutely unlimited fuel, food, air, water, etc., it would still take ~27 years of non-stop flying to get from one end to the other. Add that, if you choose the Destroy ending, all Reaper-derived tech goes poof and you don't even have FTL drives anymore.
As is implied in the Buzz Aldrin Power Hour, it would seem people just sort of gave up at that prospect.
Gotta also account for drive core discharging. If there's not enough planets with a strong magnetic field on the route,.it's essentially a dead zone that can't be accessed.

Bioware unlikely to add new ending. Cinematics and audio files added to existing continuity to cover most obvious plot holes. Statement about artistic integrity, optional.
Wait, are we sure that destroying the Reapers neutralizes the mass effect? If not, then all FTL should work anyway, save for the Relays.
I could almost like it if we got a Yahg romance option.

The Frankenstien bit. The story wasn't shit before that, just slow and pointless. After that point they tried to ram 3 shit storylines at us in succession.
What if its clarifying that the indoctrination theory was correct, and then went on to let you play the end of the game?
Yea! Then people wouldn't be able to say it had a shitty ending!
Except now they'd be able to say Bioware sold an unfinished game for full price and then (probably) charged people to play the rest!
Yea!

My favorite bit is when every man, woman, and child in Merill's clan attempts to murder her
even the ditzy store clerk
and merill is all "this is so weird"
NO SHIT IT'S WEIRD THE FLORIST IS TRYING TO KILL ME WITH A MACHETE

Yeah, but that was during the "ram as many stories in as we can" end stages. None of those were written well.
[editline]2nd April 2012[/editline]
Also, on the topic of Mass Effect, Jim Sterling's new Jimquisition episode was pretty good. He said he now agrees with the Retake Mass Effect thing and came as close to appologising for his shitty attitude as he'll ever get. So that's kinda cool.
I know, but isn't normal FTL done via mass effect drive? Unless somehow using the Crucible neutralizes Eezo's mass effect properties, FTL under normal circumstances should be do able.

yeah. there were plenty of ways that quest could go down, but it's like they didn't account for all of them in the dialog. I convinced her clan not to murder her and not five minutes later she's like "they're all dead, Hawke."
they aren't dead you putz, they just hate you because you're a fucking moron who refused to listen to me when i said leave that fucking mirror alone eleven goddamn times
DA2 was basically KOTOR2. Had a lot of potential, but it simply wasn't finished and everything seemed disjointed and weird.
Like, in Mass Effect 3 (ending aside,) everything sort of flowed organically. It was usually a while before you were like "OOOH, that happened because I did X!" or "oh shit, this guy could have been Y if he wasn't dead!" In DA2 every plotline sort of existed in its own weird bubble, completely separate and disjointed from the rest of the story.
I know, but isn't normal FTL done via mass effect drive? Unless somehow using the Crucible neutralizes Eezo's mass effect properties, FTL under normal circumstances should be do able.
Normal FTL uses a Mass Effect core to lower the mass of the ship and then uses normal engines to push it forward afaik
I don't see the Crucible disrupting that, But it would take a lot longer to get anywhere, and you'd probably have to make huge ships / new engines to make it across the gaps
Is there any way I can edit my save to include characters that don't appear because the game considers them "dead"?

Holy shit can we all just agree that space travel is kind of fucked without the Mass Relays? Even if you could go a little faster than the speed of light, it would take you for fucking ever to get anywhere.
