Turian are supposed to be an avian species, so I don't think they even have teeth.
This picture got me wondering how the hell turians can eat or drink anything. The sides of their mouths never fully close, chewing must be a nightmare.
From Wiki: "The turian mechanic Lilihierax on Noveria uses the idiom, "if you can polish enough gizzard". This suggests that the turians have a digestive system similar to birds and reptiles on Earth, some of whom swallow stones to help break down harder foods in the stomach. "
Turian are supposed to be an avian species, so I don't think they even have teeth.
Probably but take a closer look at the above picture. If those aren't teeth there, then I have been having the strangest hallucinations since i started playing ME1
i really dont understand the point of all this speculation it would be better if bioware just made a simple explanation with a simple choice or even better retcon-ed the whole ending and redid it
If they have a decent explanation for the current ending(s) I'd rather they used that rather than retcon them completely. I don't think they're absolutely-godawful-ruined-the-entire-series, they just need some explanation/elaboration [editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
Turian are supposed to be an avian species, so I don't think they even have teeth.
Birds have teeth.

When the starchild said "to create a new DNA" the part of me that studied A level biology for a good year flipped major shit.
Mass Effect's writing (Dialogue) has always been pretty bad anyway :v: It's always so melodramatic
Could be a hallucination, especially after being fucked in the face by a reaper laz0r
And indoctrination causes hallucinations.
And indoctrination causes hallucinations.
That's pretty weak evidence.
That's pretty weak evidence.
I suppose, but either way: Whether Bioware intended to do this or not, I think they could probably get away with blaming the shitty ending on indoctrination.
This picture got me wondering how the hell turians can eat or drink anything. The sides of their mouths never fully close, chewing must be a nightmare.
Emergency induction ports
I suppose, but either way: Whether Bioware intended to do this or not, I think they could probably get away with blaming the shitty ending on indoctrination.
"Get away with" =/= "Should"
"Contrived" doesn't even begin to describe the indoctrination theory...
inb4 runawaylove
If they're going to re-write the ending to what everyone was expecting (choices from the series influence it) then it's going to take a long time considering the choices that can influence the ending.
Mass Effect's writing (Dialogue) has always been pretty bad anyway :v: It's always so melodramatic
Shenanigans. If there's anything that Bioware games (even Dragon Age 2) have consistently been praised for, it's dialogue writing. A few melodramatic lines here and there, certainly, but Mass Effect as a series has some of the best dialogue out there. Need examples? - Entire introduction of Mass Effect 1, from Eden Prime straight through to the first council meeting. - Pretty much the entirety of Virmire and Ilos. - Conrad Verner (always) - Post-mission briefings in ME1 - Genophage conflict in ME2 and ME3 (brought to life by Mordin & Wrex primarily) - Quarian/Geth conflict in ME2 and ME3, the former of which was superbly written. That's just a few, and that hardly even touches on all the -incredible- character moments throughout the series.
Was trying to make a joke about what it could be racist against, but i got absolutely no idea
YOU CATALYSTS ARE ALL RACISTS!

Voice acting is pretty good for most of it though, with some exceptions. (STEEEEEEEEVE EAUGHGAUHGUHAGH)
There are some great moments, but in general I'd say that the dialogue quality is below average.
Well what are you comparing it to? If Mass Effect is below average, clearly I've been playing the wrong games. I still hold the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver series and Portal 2 has having the best dialogue out there, but labeling Mass Effect as below average? I'm not seeing it.

I can forgive Bioware for everything except facial animation and the ending, because the backstory is so vast and brilliant, and there's so much meat in the package.
Below average? Are you mad? Then what would you consider average..?
Deus ex, clearly :v: I dunno, maybe I just noticed the bits where the dialogue was poor more than when it was really good. There were some definite moments where the writing irritated me somewhat (Although I couldn't name them if you asked me)
I can forgive Bioware for everything except facial animation and the ending, because the backstory is so vast and brilliant, and there's so much meat in the package.
i dont mind the facial animation. for me, i judge a games facial animation on whether or not it pulls me out of the game at certain moments when the mouth syncs just so wrong to what they said. i don't recall that happening in me, i remained immersed during dialogue. so it worked fine.

I gave you half a dozen examples of good dialogue and I'm barely scratching the surface. Please show me where all the below-average dialogue is.
So, when do we get our packs?

You sir are mad.

Then again Dead Space 2 had really great facial animation, so maybe it's an unfair comparison.
Is the Falcon absolute shit right now? I've only heard bad stuff about it but I just got it in a crate. Also rolling krogan soldier with Disciple for 200% speed reduction and spamming carnage.
...You're saying that the average video game has dialogue quality equivalent to Deus Ex? You sir are mad.
Oh my god jc a bomb
While we're talking about writing, I just want to say that there is one phrase I never want to hear ever again: "When this is over, drinks are on me!" It just feels so damn stupid and cliche'.
