You obviously have no idea why people were upset about the ending in the first place.
No one wants clarification for an ending that was terrible. The problem wasn't just that it was vague. It was completely unfitting, forced, and contradictory to everything Mass Effect is about.

The more people thought about the endings, the more they realized that "clarification" would just clarify how bad the endings. It's like asking for the manager because your steak is still frozen in places, and he comes over, measures it temperature, and says, "Yep, sure is!"

Yeah, which is why it's so amazing that they managed to completely contradict a lot of things they made up themselves. They made an ending that makes absolutely no sense in the context of their OWN UNIVERSE THAT THEY MADE UP. How does one fuck up that badly?

They REALLY need to look at what the community is saying. It's been a month of some of the angriest nerd rage I've ever seen. And a month on the internet is a long fucking time. I don't think Bioware quite understands the position they're in, or the fact that the Indoctrination Theory has given tem a second chance. If they fuck up it'll be one of the biggest outcries on the internet, which while impressive on it's own is not a reputation you want.

Bullshit. Pure bullshit. When you build a universe, as Bioware did, you create a set of rules in order to ensure logical narrative cohesion. This is why the massive Codex goes into so much detail about the rules of the Mass Effect universe relative to our own, and why everything works in a justifiable, scientific manner. Breaking, changing or adding one of these rules is extremely difficult to pull off but no matter what, it HAS to be explained in a way that fits the existing logic of the universe. If this is not done, then you just created a gigantic plot hole and destroyed part of the integrity of your universe.
This is EXACTLY what Bioware did with the ending.

I'll be stunned if the Indoctrination Theory isn't utilized. It's not totally solid, but it really is the biggest "Here's a free pass to redeem yourselves" that I've seen in a while.
