And during the Fleet Battle in ME3 we saw a Reaper being blown apart/losing one or multiple of it's tentacles. So their shields aren't impenetrable.
Said Reaper was being hammered by many many geth javelin cannons the size of makos. Sorry but the game says over and over and over that the reapers have JUST begun to attack and liara says that within several hundreds year it WILL be over simply logistics.

i saw it being shot at by a few turian/human dreads and cruisers with conventional mass accelerators???

yeah okay
liara the useless information broker who has been wrong before
yeah i forgot she could see the future was knew so much about military battles that she could say with certainty that the coalition would lose
i saw a complete lack of strategy and a red/blue lazer-filled clusterfuck for cinematics' sakes.
i honestly do not think the people who scripted that battle gave enough of a shit to think about it like you guys are.
Ahahahaha there's one guy whose so convinced that the PAX panel totally means the people who liked the ending are the majority without any proof, so he's going around every thread in BSN going off about stuff along the lines off "PRO ENDER TERRITORY PRO ENDER TERRITORY END OF RETAKE MOVEMENT GO BACK TO YOUR HIVEMIND RETAKERS" while not listening to anyone when he gets called out and instead responding with nonsensical logic before going "RETAKERS PWNED WITH LOGIC MOVEMENT IS GASP OF DYING DOG"
It's hilarious yet infuriating.
Mintycool aka busomjack's already been banned three times as it is.

That too.
Based off what we were shown in-game, big ships in Mass Effect move like sailboats when there's no wind. Also Reapers have an effective range of 'I can see the whites of their eyes'.

Don't you just love it when people apply 'rule of cool' to things that are canon and thus fuck up the established info?
i like how in me2 the oculi lasers were beams and in me3 they were pew pew star wars
i saw it being shot at by a few turian/human dreads and cruisers with conventional mass accelerators???
Spinal cannons aren't conventional by the time of the fleet mass depending on your assets, none of which takes away from the fact Capital Reapers, which number in the hundreds, control tens of thousands of Line Reapers.

Hackett Anderson and Javik say the same thing, so does the the Primarch. BW made it plain a shooting war wasn't going to happen, whether it gits or not. The endings and Legion having to "kill" himself don't make any fucking sense either, but there you go.

I honestly think that person's a psychopath, or has some other sort of mental illness. How else could someone simultaneously be disgustingly condescending in every post they make, and act like the innocent victim of unprovoked attacks in the same breath?
Hackett Anderson and Javik say the same thing, so does the the Primarch. BW made it plain a shooting war wasn't going to happen.
I get that characters say it's impossible, but based off of what we see in-game, and what we know about the weaponry of the universe, the lore says it is, in fact, possible.
Capital Reapers

In the case of a Reaper capital ship, these kinetic barriers can hold off the firepower of two dreadnoughts simultaneously, but three clearly causes strain, and four typically results in destruction.
Again considering the Protheans had better tech and were far more militarized than any other cycle and still got blowed up...
So I met Chris Presley "Community Manger of Bioware" We had a good 15 min chat about Mass Effect and the company I am starting. Be was withholding something big when it comes the ending. Big as in good big. Was a real pleasure meeting him at PAX!

We have Reaper Tech. I think that trumps whatever the Protheans had. Also, the Protheans got fucked over because they fell for the Citadel trick, and as such, their militarization meant nothing.
All in all, the cycle with humans had a far better chance than the Protheans did.

what
we're talking about how much firepower it takes to destroy 1 (one) sovereign-class reaper

They had a better chance cause clever monkey tricks > bad guys, as it always has in sci-fi. You're arguing the plot armor of one mary sue set up is superior to the other, when BW pretty plainly states it's actually the opposite.
Where are we getting this 'thousands of Reapers' number from? The wiki says there were about 300 Reapers total, and we have no idea how many mini-Reapers and other forces they had. Saying they had thousands of line Reapers is pulling a number completely out of your ass.

And I'm saying unless the coalition fleet had about 40000 dreadnoughts arrayed in a sphere that can teleport any where across the galaxy at a moment's notice, that ain't happening anymore after the first few casualties.
No need to be negative about everyone bioware related. Chris is a cool guy!

What? They had almost no chance. All of their forces were cut off from each other. All they were doing was just using planets as shields against the Reapers to delay the inevitable and keep working on the Crucible. Even Javik says that Shepard's Cycle has a better chance than the Protheans did.

What?
If there are 300 Reapers and it takes 4 Dreadnaughts to take them out, that means we need about 1200 Dreadnaughts. Not 40,000. Where are you getting these random numbers from?

The only Bioware employee to publicly accept the possibility of a bribe (albeit in the form of a Porsche.)
Of course, BSN took the initiative to enter the Mega Millions lotto on the premise that they would bribe Chris with a Porsche if they won.

Doesn't it say over 300 Reapers seen so far or did I misread.
Just installed ME1 and the textures and sounds are so primitive compared to ME2 and 3. Music excellent as always. Especially Shepard's footstep sound, sounds like something from 2001. I remember it being excellent at the time though. Progress is wonderful.
I just finished my first gold mission, we were two salarian engineers, one quarian infiltrator and the last i dont remember. It was the most booring game I've ever done, we sat in a corner the entire map and spammed decoy and energy drain.
72 hours have passed and I still don't have my commendation pack for Raptor, so looks like it is the waiting line of Live Chat for me.
So uh, the premium spectre pack probably won't last until monday/tuesday, so is it really worth stacking up glod for the new classes?

Yea, because this cycle had time to complete the crucible and had a chance to get to the catalyst before everything went to shit.
The Protheans lost because they never had a chance to use the Crucible, this cycle would have been no different.

I mean, this is arguing with just about every source in the game that said that there was no chance of winning a conventional war.
Just because you saw a little light show that showed a few Reapers getting killed doesn't mean that the war would have been successful over the long haul.
