And doing more math if the Humans have 8 dreadnoughts they'd be able to fire 96 thanix cannons shots in 1 minute. Turians could fire 468 if they had all their dreadnoughts. So that's 564 shots from Human and Turians dreadnoughts combined and that gives the end result of shit-load of dead Reapers.
So 564 shots per minute and say 30 minutes of space combat it will equal 16,920 shots fired at Reaper forces.
Hell, the final battle showed a -single- Cruiser blowing two legs off a Reaper and sub sequentially destroying it before being destroyed themselves. Wouldn't the Geth and Quarians alone have tens of thousands of combat-ready ships ready to kick ass?
Forget what Hackett says, we could have taken those bastards out without the Crucible.
Well remember, it was stated that [sp]The Reapers weren't trying to kill, just harvest. If they wanted to kill everyone they would've done it.
I don't know why the destroy ending had to include the geth. Made me feel worse about Tali's death.[/sp]

Or behind the planet.
Or around the rest of the solar system.
Or simply behind the wall of reapers in front of earth, blocked from view by their comrades.
[sp]I agree though, I would've loved an ending which involved them being destroyed conventionally or even with the crucible(without a magic child).[/sp]
WHO CREATED THE REAPERS?
That's almost asking why does anything exist.
Which is why no matter what Bioware comes up with we'll think is stupid.
If there wasn't a law on too many dreadnoughts the turians would probably have a shit load of them.
The treaty made it so the Turians could build as many Dreadnoughts as they wanted. It was a ratio treaty, meaning for every 5 Dreadnoughts the Turians built, the Salarians and Asari(and later Humans) were allowed 3, and every other Citadel race was allowed 1.
Like I said before, a single Dreadnought is a huge undertaking. It's fucking gigantic and requires presumably hundreds of thousands of crew members. The Turians probably kept the maximum number of Dreadnoughts their resources would support.
Also, if every civilization is made into one single Reaper, wouldn't the Reapers fail over time if they lost more than one Reaper per war? If they only gain a single Reaper, they'd have to only lose a single Reaper as well to break even.
I don't think every civilization is made into a single Reaper. If it's stated otherwise, please share the source. However, they could practically make as many Reapers as they wanted while they "end the cycle". There are trillions of organics that the Reapers can spend time harvesting and assimilating into the Armada in various ways. If they need to replenish their numbers, then they have ample resources to do it.
dumb origin and their dumb motive
I can agree to that.
I honestly bet that the reapers have been doing the whole reaping thing for so long, that no original reapers remain at all. The original reason for the reapers conducting their "harvest" was lost with the original reapers.
So in my math skills which are terrible I'd say within an hour the joint forces of Turians and Humans would take out 3/4's of the Reaper's surrounding Earth.

I find this interesting enough to know why.
They were starships or something shit.

Fucking FINALLY. It took me over a month of playing during my off time (jobs really ruin free time), but I finally finished my rerun of Mass Effect 2. On Insanity. Saved every squad mate too, and damn I couldn't be happier. I can finally move on to play the unopened Mass Effect 3 that's been gathering dust since release day.
TIM mentions on the dirlect reaper level in ME2 that he found the weapon that knocked the reaper out.
What happened to that?

The Star Kid says that every cycle is harvested into a Reaper to 'preserve' them.
That also makes no sense though, because they didn't make the Protheans into a Reaper. They made them into the Collectors.
On a lighter and unrelated note:

Bioware confirmed that the Star Kid was lying about all synthetics dying in the destroy ending. If he was telling the truth, Shepard, all of the Quarians, all of the Geth, and EDI would have died. Tali and EDI and Shepard can survive, so yeah.

You can make them into more than one thing. There might be a Prothean Reaper out there.
That wouldn't make a lot of sense though, considering the Human Reaper looked like a fucking human. That was the stupidest shit I've ever seen.
The thing I always kind of disliked about the story was how [sp]worthless they made the human race(along with other organics) seem(not that it was a bad story, it just made it feel strange). The ending only made it worse. Basically "We let you evolve until you were ready for harvesting." I picked the destroy option because it was the only one I felt was even remotely close to things going back to normal.
The more I think about it the more I dislike the ending. Watching the launch trailer again shows me what I wanted from ME3. I wanted to watch Shepard, humanity, and the allies he rounded up join together and beat the odds. First I was okay with Bioware just adding on to the endings, but now I really wish we could've seen the entire Alliance fleet wipe out the Reapers on their own. Or even using the crucible, but just as a weapon, no starkid or whatever.[/sp]

I did it that way just to be a dick. I wanted to see if the game would let me commit genocide on two races, and it did.

That was the "core" of the Reaper.
All of the cores look like the race harvested. All of the Reapers share the same exterior cuttlefish look.

I thought all the reaper ground forces were reapers. Weren't husks, banshees, marauders and so on all organics "preserved" into Reapers?

That's still pretty stupid. That boss fight was sort of ridiculous.

Sorry, I meant an actual sentient ship. I just assumed that the Reapers harvested life to bolster their armies, and preserved at least one copy of the civilization as a Dreadnought.

I keep forgetting to feed my goddamn fish. Can you get them back after they die? I need to fucking romance Kelly already so she can play housekeeper with my shit.
