Yes we did, how about a late?
Shep has gone completely overboard now:

Well they already have N7 hoodies and leather dresses, why not sheets?
Well they already have N7 hoodies and leather dresses, why not sheets?
N7 brand condoms are the next logical step
i want that blanket.
Just going to drop in, I didn't mind the ending. I liked that idea of "Advanced Races get wiped out to make way for new ones, the old ones are fossilized into reaper form". I mean the fact they made joker or who ever is going to come out of that door survive is dumb cause technically by wiping out the entire galaxy it'd be millions of years before something intelligent forms

That's a secondary effect, yes, but not the main goal. The main goal is to protect Organics from then Synthetics that they build. They come around and smash everything up so that Synthetics don't destroy Organics, and perserve the Organics in the form of a Reaper. It really makes no sense, but, yeah.

I'm seeing this really weird positive-feedback loop in terms of Shepard's character within the Mass Effect universe. He starts off as a noteworthy, but not entirely 100% known or famous individual like Hackett or Anderson. Then through the series of events of ME1 he achieves this almost larger than life, near god-like persona, which in turn prompts the Illusive Man to resurrect him when he dies which simply furthers this crazy image of Shepard that everyone has. Then he goes through even more crazy shit like ending the Collectors, entering the Geth consensus. Everybody hears about this stuff and kind of expects him to solve their problems because, hey, its Commander motherfucking Shepard, and after being sort of pushed into solving shit everyone thinks he's even more badass.

Shephard is basically a prisoner to his cause, totally devoted to the struggle against the reapers. It's why the romances and squadmate interactions are so compelling: they're little dalliances away from the gritty space hero stuff where you don't just get to know characters, but they get to know you. It gives some flesh and blood to an otherwise very standard hero in a hero's journey. So when you get to points where you basically choose A or B moral outcome, as in many games, it's less mechanical and more deeply reflective of an alter-ego you've been creating. But in the end you/him just keeps choo-chooing on inexorably for the sake of redemption for everyone. And then you don't really get it. Suddenly it's Green, Blue, Red, and kiss my hand to your meticulously crafted persona.
Does anyone know for how long these MP special deals last?
Usually just the weekend, this one lasts 24 hours (12 on each side)longer, prolly to support the new chars. [editline]8th April 2012[/editline]
I agree when it comes to ME2 (though I liked the Intro, Collector Ship, and Suicide Mission a lot), but I think he made a VAST improvement with Mass Effect 3. Shitty ending and lacking intro aside, the meat of the story was some of the strongest stuff we've seen from the series.
None of which he wrote. That's the point. The "consequences" (TM) are his, but jdom and sylv wrote the Consensus and Silent Monastery and two other folks wrote Tuchanka/Sur'Kesh, which are arguably the best of ME, as in ALL of ME, period. Walters needs to go back to dialog.
Quick couple of ending questions I'm still looking for clarification on: - Do the pre-rendered scenes showing the Hammer and Sword battles change depending in your EMS? I know they take losses regardless, but there seems to be a few things (like a Destroyer tearing apart a Turian dreadnought) that I've not seen in my playthroughs. - If EDI was one of your two 'preferred' squadmembers, can she emerge from the Normandy in the 'Destroy' ending?
The space battles change a little. If your EMS sucked, the destroyer would laser a Turian dreadnought from above. If your EMS was good, the destroyer would laser the dreadnought from in front, but then get sort of blown up, kind of. I don't think you can see EDI leave the Normandy after the destroy ending.
- If EDI was one of your two 'preferred' squadmembers, can she emerge from the Normandy in the 'Destroy' ending?
Allegedly EDI can live in the Destroy ending, but I have yet to see proof on that.
I still want a game set during the First Contact war.
I know this is kinda late, but the First Contact war really isn't that interesting. Pretty much the turians find human explorers activating an inactive relay and attack them because activating an inactive relay is illegal in council space. From the ME wiki:
Not knowing what enemy they faced - at first, some even wondered if these aliens might be Protheans - humanity sent probes into turian space, armed with nuclear fusion warheads to prevent the probes from providing dangerous insights into human technology. With humanity's resources stretched thin due to exploration efforts, the turians managed to defeat several scout and patrol fleets. Eventually the turians broke through to attack Shanxi, the closest human colony to the mass relay, and settled in for a protracted orbital siege. With the turians in a superior position, able to kill any human soldiers from above, the Shanxi defenders began to starve, unable to get food or supplies without risking civilian lives. Eventually General Williams, Ashley Williams' grandfather, was forced to surrender the Shanxi garrison. The turians - who were also suffering logistical problems, as they had to ship in all their food - believed they had defeated the bulk of the enemy forces. But they would be proven wrong when a month later Admiral Kastanie Drescher led the Second Fleet against Shanxi, catching the turians by surprise and evicting them from the planet. The turians and humans prepared for full-scale interplanetary war, drawing the notice of the rest of the galaxy. Fortunately, the Citadel Council then intervened to negotiate a peace and bring the war to an end.
So pretty much a few space battles (not enough for a space combat game), and the siege of Shanxi which was pretty much an arial bombardment and the human defenders being starved into surrendering. Not really enough for a game or even a movie (imo).
So i just checked out the Mouse options, do you guys have mouse dampening on? Is that mouse acceleration? I've had it on this whole time...
-snip- nevermind.
How do i use the me3 save editor? I tried making an ew save and check all the necssary stuff, and it's not showing up in game.
I wouldn't put it past me some of the things stated was pure poo poo
I think it was the ME3 official Twitter that said the whole "kill all synthetics" was a lie, when faced with the sheer contradiction of EDI and Shepard possibly still surviving. It really is funny when you have to write the plot around the developers being lazy.
Maybe he has a youtube account under that name... [editline]8th April 2012[/editline] No, just trying to find out more about him so that you can report him or something. I personally think the First Contact War would be good for the Mass Effect Movie.
