Witcher 2 also requires either a very expensive rig or a lot more tech-affluence than most consumers have to play on PC.
I'd be curious to see the sales numbers on PC Witcher compared to console Witcher a few years down the line.
I'm not saying shit isn't getting stunted, I'm saying that it's getting stunted for decent reasons. It's fiscally infeasible to develop a full-out PC version for a simultaneous, multi-platform release (Witcher 2's re-release being, what, a year and a half later?) and at some point you're going to have to pick between appeasing the elite or selling to the peasants. Maybe I'm biased, being that I fall into the peasant category, but I'd rather play a decent-looking game on my 360 than shell out more money and time than I really have for a rig that's only going to last for a year or two if I'm lucky. I'm thirty years old with a wife and a kid, I'm not going to have time for that shit again for decades.
The Witcher 2 confuses the hell out of me. I can run BF3 on all high with no problems, then the Witcher 2 which looks about the same and SAYS my rig can run it fine, fucking shits itself as soon as more than 3 people are on sceen at once. I mean there's catering to the elitists and there's just not giving a fuck.
its also fucking crazy how Grand Theft Auto 4 runs smooth as a chemotherapy patient's ballsac on the 360's 512mb's, and yet shits itself and dies on my quad-core, 4gb-ram PC. maybe i'm just computer inept but there's something p. off about that.
Well if you bought it on steam you have to run 3 third party programs while you play so that may have something to do with it.

Witcher was actually made for a range of rigs and optimized from hell to breakfast, which is why they're going to be able to port it at all. I should know as I did assets. It's not a question peasants or kings either, it came down to design choices and compromises. ME1 was rather well optimized for the PC in MOST areas, and EA didn't give Demiurge an arm and a leg to do it. Speaking of which, the system with the highest number of unique number of first buy sales - lifetime for ME is the PC, not the 360.

I set it to the lowest fucking settings and the son of a bitch still only shits out 10fps. The "you should have built a better rig" thing seems to have become an excuse for awfulness when I wasn't looking.

My store bought, six year old computer still can run mostly anything I can throw at it. Except for witcher 2.

sorry dude but it could have fooled me. I have a decent computer, and the motherfucker simply will not give me any slack. It's no fucking NASA computer, but if this bastard can run Crysis on Medium, it should be able to run a well-optimized game on the lowest settings without pissing in my ear and calling me sister.

I thought he looked more like Kratos, personally, but that's probably just me.
Also the one with Mordin makes me think of elves, probably the eyes and mouth that remind me of the Witcher elves.
Nope but here's mordin

I thought it was a pretty big part of his character that he's the equivalent of a sixty year-old man
I thought it was a pretty big part of his character that he's the equivalent of a sixty year-old man
He is, but he doesn't look old for his age. Despite being an old veteran he still bounds around the lab like a hatchling. He could probably look a bit older there, but it's not bad.
After finally beating all the me2 dlc i was able to move onto me3.
Problem is, in me3 i seem to get this very annoying lag in game when i'm playing in 1920x1080 any other resolution runs perfectly fine.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I know i have the specs to handle the game on high settings
intel i5 3.30 ghz
8gb ram
2 gtx560 sli
Yeah, I can run it with any settings under 1080p, but regardless of detail, bloom, anything, if I have my resolution at 1920x1080 like I usually do, it shits its pants. I get well over double FPS on just slightly smaller resolutions.

If you don't have things set in an optimized way, I don't what to tell you. I've seen the game run fine on four year old comps, provided things were turned down to where they should actually be, not to where the user thought the graphics should look like based on pics.

More accurate Human Mordin:

i am offended at the implication, sir.
sure, I'll set everything to absolute minimum before I even think about running any game on anything lower than native resolution, but Witcher 2 still chugs like a motherfucker even when I'm playing it on a postage stamp.
I love getting glitched in the skybox, and I get instantly revived when I go down

After the 4th or 5th comic or something he became a redundant character apparently.
Is this even about Marauder Shields anymore?
It started off as a comic about Marauder Shields. He later decided to just go balls out and start a comic under the name "Marauder Shields", in which MS hardly plays a role anymore.
