I think the only half-decent game to anime adaptions I've seen were the Dead Space ones.
Downfall was decent even if some of the character designs were weird and none of the actual ingame weapons appeared, Aftermath was pretty crappy with how it barely had any of the game's necromorphs in and those shitty cel-shaded scenes.
