Sven Coop ruined? - Games - Facepunch Forum

Oh boy, the memories.. Anyone remember toonworld, or tetrisworld (they could have been named differently, it's been a long time...) Those were the best "campaigns" I've ever played in a Co-Op game.

In my opinion the XP mod's fine to change a small thing here and there, but people who play the game just to rank up are annoying and obstructive to gameplay. I started playing at 4.0, and honestly I don't have too many complaints with the core game (except that some enemies pretty much instantly kill you). I've never experienced 3.0 though, so I guess I couldn't tell you about that.

now that you mentioned the leveling and how easy it is I remembered trying to finish some big maps in svencoop 3.0 with my friend on LAN,it required a lot of cooperation and it a lot of fun,it would take us hours but it was amazingly fun.That is gone now because when I start a map I just go rambo on these NPCs and kill them easily.Dunno but it feels like it's really easy. In other words,the mod has lost it's touch

The new weapons are fresh and fun, the XP mod is interesting, but I kind of wish you had a way to input a command like "sv_oldweapons 1". I remember Svencoop in the very old days, you guys remember, before steam was there? The old browser, joining a server with always different maps, lots of players, crowbaring everything and everyone? It's probably notsalgia, but I wish I had that back. Svencoop isn't a game you can install and play alone and have fun with just about anyone who was in the same server as you, in my opinion, now you need to play with friends on a private server to enjoy it. Looking at it that way, this sadly goes for a lot of things nowadays..

I remember i was with my friends on that omg2 map. We noclipped around and we found the secret digimon porn room. Good times.

One of my sven coop friends just quit steam. It just made me remember the times I had on sven. It was one of the few games that I actually was able to connect to other people other than the facepunch fretta server. Makes me wish sven was populated again.

But that's probably because I always play Sven Coop in the early morning (5:00-7:00).

I guess that after the years people who loved the mod back in the day either got bored or just didn't like the new version.

I miss when it still had the HL feel to it.
