Great game!
I played a Vanquisher, and has dual pistols in one slot and dual swords in the other, in case enemies got too close to me.
My pistols got so powerful I never used the swords once.
I have yet to try the first one but they both look good.
Gonna download it on the 360 when it comes out
I'm hoping for two control styles, one like Deathspank and one like classic diablo.

Source?
I killed this game for myself by doing the under 5 hour playthough it just killed all the fun in it, was great before that though

Its probably his favorite from the Steam sales.
'Torchlight 2' Release Delayed Until Summer 2011
Soon, very soon now, Xbox Live Arcade gamers are going to know the joys of Runic Games' "Torchlight," a brazen "Diablo" clone. But is it really a clone if you've got "Diablo" co-designers Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer leading development? You ponder that while I go cry in a corner. For alas, the coming release of "Torchlight 2" has been pushed back into summer of this year.
The sequel, which was originally slated for a May release, will now make its bow sometime in June or July for Windows and Mac OS X platforms. In terms of features, the coming sequel looks like it will make the original game feel almost like a test run. Co-op play, new player characters, outdoor areas... plus the same tight gameplay that made the first adventure so enjoyable.
Runic CEO Max Schaefer pinned the delay to the difficulties of porting the game's largely mouse-driven controls over for the console experience. "I'd say that the Xbox project, having to do the extra work with the interface, has pushed us back a little bit, so we're probably talking July right now for 'Torchlight 2,'" he told Digital Spy.
Schaefer went on to chalk up the obstacles encountered on the Xbox port as a learning experience, one that the team is using to carry "some optimizations and technical improvements" over to their work on the coming sequel. ""We've got load times down, we've got some animation stuff that's a little bit better, and it's feeling really good right now," he said. "'Torchlight 2' is playing really snappy and really sharp, so I'm very excited about that."
It's a bit too long, I think.
[editline]10th February 2011[/editline]
But it's still really great.
i'm glad that dungeon crawls are making a comeback.
Whoop whoop.
Wanting to make a MOD section in the OP but I dont play anymore.
Gotta reinstall?
I'm going to download the demo and experiment :)
Been a while since I last played this through... Need to do it before II.
I really should've chosen a higher difficulty when creating my first character (I chose normal), in the 12 hours I've played it I only died 2 or 3 times... to a trap.
And is it only me or is explosive shot really incredibly overpowered, it's almost like an instawin button.
Its instawin if you play your skills right.
I'm hoping Torchlight II can compete with Diablo III. Diablo III is slowly turning into WoW.
That's like saying you want to move to Somalia because you think the US is descending into Anarchy.
I just got this game and I'm really loving it. It even runs extremely smooth on my piece of shit computer so I'm happy! I could use some mods though, are there like any good texture packs? High res texture pack?
Summoner Alchemist was my favourite build, although I started playing back through with a Destroyer...oh hell, now I need to reinstall it to complete before number 2 comes out

Wanting to play Torchlight because you think Diablo 3's graphics look like WoW's? Yes.

he didn't say graphics
he may be wrong about Diablo 3 but your comparison still made little sense

Bro, he ment that Diablo 3 is just what Warcraft became.
W3 was awesome, but D3 is goddamn rainbow land.

But so is Torchlight
But so is Torchlight
Torchlight did not start off otherwise.

Torchlight is the first in the series, D3 is not.
Who gives a shit if Diablo 3 looks a little similar to WoW? The gameplay is what matters, and the gameplay is looking top-notch if you keep up with what the dev team is doing.
The first Diablo is the only one that felt dark and atmospheric to me, anyway.
Was fun for like 10 hours, then I realized I was not even a tenth done and people clocked in 50+ hours in it.
50 hours of repetitive, linear gameplay? No thanks, every level is a reskin.
Bought this on xbox, about 5-6 hours in and I'm level 21 on my Alchemist. So far my favorite skill is the Golem, and Ember Lightning.
Also, needing 2 strength points to wear a helmet that gives me 26 strength points, and not being able to find a ring or a piece of armor to get me those 2 strength points until after I level up.
