They didn't help us. At least, not directly. Britain had to go and screw up its relationships with all the other countries, so it had both the French and the Scotts (I think.) just waiting for the right moment to strike. If Britain poured all its forces to stop the revolution, it'd get thoroughly raped back at home. Everything that happened to Britain was its own fault, though they did redeem themselves a bit by not backing the South in the Civil War because the South supported slavery.
By the way, I have an English friend who wants to move to America. If the UK was so totally superior, why would she want to leave?
