because it's not really free.
Free enough, the demo has everything except for mod usage and skirmish has a 6 minute timer but 6 minutes is still fun as hell in cortex command.
Sweet, I started a trend. It actually does work, just the way you guys are doing it. My friend also put his Opposing Force on the drive, and we just set it up to run in offline mode, and once we started the game, handed it over to friends to play as the game gets set to run on RAM after it is executed.
LMAO yeah i'm happy i read your post because i am currently installing cs 1.6 on my usb stick

Well is Usb DRIVE any better? :P
You've got your capitals mixed up.
USB drive.
Technically, it's a USB flash drive, since it uses flash memory. There are also USB hard drives.

I don't really care about caps, I know it's all caps and I know about flash in it, but I call it a USB drive.

Many aren't free, but it's a good list
I call it a removable universal serial bus portable storage device (RUSBPSD)
Sorry to burst all the Steam users bubbles, but it won't work at school.
The proxy your school will most likely have setup stops steam from connecting to the internet.
And we all know how steam is when you try offline.

I used to use ultrasurf to bypass it.

Whaaaaat
There's a way to do that? Mother bitching awesome, If this does work, I'll give you my babies.
[editline]05:22PM[/editline]

LAN battles would be the only reason i want these programs
For Quake Live all you need is a web browser, get it.
Nexuiz is good.

Pretty much anything in the "Free Games That Don't Suck" thread.
Also, the older builds of Cortex Command (18 and down, I think) are free. They've all been stuck in some thread on the official forums (this one, to be precise), so it's worth checking out.
Marathon also! This, Quake 3 Arena, and N I have on my 2 GB drive...
Facewound
I would recommend the original quake. (I think the shareware version allows multiplayer) Maybe I'm just oldschool...

It completely bypasses firewalls on all programs.
Tremulous

It's based on the Q3 engine and is a great LAN/Online MP experience. Really Fun.

I tried to install it, but it just went white and crashed. Now everything is too bright.
[editline]10:55PM[/editline]
Actually, how do I fix the overbrightness?
make sure what your posting is opensource and not warez, you can post something that is cheap and legal but i think we are all looking for free games that are legal
