Bah I'm feeling a bit lazy to post screens maybeh tomorrow
Here's my shortened version of what we did to Buzancy the other day:

Yes, it was THAT awesome.
(Actually that does describe what happened pretty well, we assembled an army of epic proportions and kicked the Poms' asses out completely, then headed on down to Grandpre to do the same. Regardless of what these Pommy or French gits say, the Axis are kicking tremendous quantities of posterior right now.)
An actual screen showing the assault assembling:

Man, i am having major credit card issues. I just can't get it to work.
Downloading the trial. See you soon guys in the air :D
By the way I have no credit card, can i subscribe to it in other way?
Never mind my credit card issues. You don't need one..

My last sortie last night! I died in the end, got tired and made a mistake, this game WILL punish mistakes!
It also punishes you for stepping out of cover
Or moving quickly enough to draw attention
Or letting your guard down
Frustrating at first, but makes it so much more rewarding when you do the same to the enemy. Also helps teach you how to survive better if you keep getting shot for the same reasons.
Downloading the trial. See you soon guys in the air :D
BTW. I have no credit card, can i subscribe to it in other way?
Yes, you can use paypal and purchase month to month...
IIRC 3 months, 6 months, 1 year which is the best deal and IIRC thats at about $8 per month, I think... you do not need the credit card.
You can purchase gift certificates and redeem them yourself.. which is what Im doing right now.\
Does not cost anymore to do it that way.
i made 5 infantry kills :)
First when i joined i started as rifle. Managed to get 0 kills. Then i did 2 para drops which got me two and zero kills. And then i used a light panzer to kill 3 guys.
I spent about the whole time I had a trial account trying to get connected to the servers. because it's so impossible to just play the damn game, and I can't connect to hte servers or boot up except in 'offline' mode
I'll probably rank up from 3-4 than from 2-3 with this LMG. I get around 2 kills per death with this gun usually. I sometimes get like 5 kills when i'm defending and there's alot of germans.
Could anyone please give me the support email for the site.
Any tips getting kills with the Einfeld, it kinda sucks staying at recuit.
S! Divided..
Axis is where its at, dont listen to Divided!!
There is so much that goes on ingame, this pic was awhile back - er 3.5 years ago or so.

But that is a an Armor column forming, IIRC we had over 40-50 tanks form up for a 45 minute drive to the front. For you newbies, this is THE view you get looking out of a Panzer 38t - which is the same tank on the left corner of the drivers slit. The right corner is the Panzer 3H, it actually has a parascope view so you dont have to look out of the drivers slit. We had some PZ4Ds and some Pz3Fs, WAY infront our 232 Armored Scout cars already left to make sure that there was not an ambush on the way to town.

Here is a column of Panzer 4Gs... this was about an hours drive and we are actually flanking the town which is in the direction im looking. This was a relief column as the french town IIRC had set up a nasty AT defense so we figured if we ran around toward the rear of the town, we could intercept any resupply reinforcements and pull some of the AT from the primary attack off to the rear. We had another armor column that was bypassing our forward base similar in size but mostly StugGs to deal long distance death to all those ATGs. This stage of the battle lasted only 2 hours or so, in which I survived with 27 kills... 2 Sherman kills, 1 M-10, 1 S-35, and 3 Panhards... I had 4 57mm ATG kills, Mle34 kill, the odd mle38 bofors, the rest being infantry.
I had run out of Coax MG and had 14 APHE left... I had to use the hull mg to suppress movement of infantry at the crossroads in the center of town. This was a truly epic battle here, it had been going on for 8 hours already.. I had fought there for about 7 of the 10 hours... I died as many times as I killed... thats including my last mission with 27 kills. I plugged my AAR into the image info on this screenie cause it was such a damn good fight.
BTW Im a Mac Player

Hey stanky :)
That's an oooooooooooooooold screenie of 23rd, back when they were known as 23rd PANZER division. Now they're known as 23rd Armored Division and fight with the allied forces.
As for me, for those who don't know me, allow me to introduce myself...
I'm keitel66, resident primadonna, member of the Allied High Command, XO of 110e Regiment d'Infanterie (110th Infantry Regiment, French Army), CO of 41st Air Wing - 23rd's Air unit - and a TRAINER for Battleground Europe.
I'm holding a BIG ol' training seminar this coming Monday night - planning on 1900 US EST (that's 7:00PM eastern standard time, GMT -5 for those of you who don't reside in the U.S.)
I love to fly, but I do everything: AAA, AT gun, pound ground as infantry, tank, deploy mobile spawn points (MSPs), fly, bomb, drop paratroopers (and drop AS a paratrooper), and occasionally sail ships!
Been playing off and on since 2004 - mostly off, due to real-life obligations - but I've been around the block a bit and as a result I consider myself pretty knowledgeable with respect to a wide variety of equipment and disciplines (like a few of the other gentlemen that have posted here).
I've provided a link to a training manual that I wrote up a while back if you're interested in flying; the manual will be going through some major revisions soon as I've learned quite a bit and a fair amount has changed in terms of gameplay since it was written.
http://www.geocities.com/agent007_32828/ahctc_afbtm_public.doc
And below is my first ever video of air-to-air combat; it didn't turn out as great as I would have hoped, partly because the footage was shot at night (which greatly affected visibility) and partly because I borked the shot when I opened the map up (d'oh!), but for 15 minutes of editing it turned out pretty good I think :) Look for the parts where the enemy plane (with the red circle around it) almost collides with me in several near-misses; of course the best part is at the very end.
http://files.filefront.com/training001+solo+flyingmov/;9820474;/fileinfo.html
The two-week trial is FREE, after which point you pay $20 to continue your membership for the next four weeks and then I think $14.95 after that. If you like the game there are several subscription options available: $44.95 for 3 months, $71.95 for 6 months (IIRC), $120-ish for a year, $120 for a one-year, bronze builder's subscription, $500 for a 5-year, silver builder's subscription, and I think $1,000 for a lifetime, gold builder's subscription. There are actually quite a few people who've thrown down money for the gold builder's account.
As soon as I update my training manual, I'll post the link again... and post the link to my next air-to-air combat video when I've assembled enough footage, compiled it, and uploaded it. I'm also working on a series of training videos for would-be pilots which should serve well to introduce you to flying in a simulation.
If you can stomach a 2- or 3-hour training class, look for me on the live server at 1900 US EST this coming Monday evening. I'll teach you everything in 2-3 hours that took me a year to learn; after 2 hours I'll have you flying in formation with me :)

Try adjusting your rifle sights. The pageup/page down buttons will increase/decrease rifle range, respectively. You'll have to guesstimate how far away your target is, adjust your sights accordingly, then take aim and blow away. Remember that bullets use REALISTIC physics; simply pointing at a target and pulling the trigger won't do enough! You'll have to lead your target and time your shots. A little tricky with the rifle from longer ranges unless your target happens to be running straight at you.
I spent about the whole time I had a trial account trying to get connected to the servers. because it's so impossible to just play the damn game, and I can't connect to hte servers or boot up except in 'offline' mode
:(
What sort of problem(s) were you having? There is a place to report such issues and seek help, the 'technical support' and 'bug reports' sub-forums at forums.battlegroundeurope.com ... the game's official forums, otherwise known as the 'playskool forums'.
Was enjoying the game with british paratroopers but the connection just failed and the shortcut takes me to the web page.
Still no aircraft available at level 1???? How are you supposed to get your score up?
How do you change the flags in a town? I went into a mission with 1 other person who shortly left and it poped up that i was the leader of that mission, the target was a field in the middle of nowhere so i walked into the near by german town (which turned out to be completely unoccupied) i walked around for a bit and stood by some german flags but i have no idea how the towns can change sides, does it need to be a large force? and when a french held town was under attack by tanks and infantry right outside the barracks you spawened at, when does it decide that the french have had enough spawned and give the town to the germans?
I can see that some of it's really enjoyable but just need to try the things i'm missing out on, as the infantry (except paratroops) have been disapionting.
1) I don't know about your connection issue. I recommended above that you check the tech support & bug report forums at forums.battlegroundeurope.com; there's info there about connection issues, including a conflict that Cornered Rat Software's ISP - Cogent - is having with Telia (a scandinavian ISP) and another one. CRS is in the process of either having cogent solve the problem or changing ISPs IIRC.
2) There are aircraft available at rank 1, just not many. And not the good ones either. It does make it a little unforgiving to new players, but then again if you stick with the good pilots you'll still learn a lot from them even if you don't get many kills yourself.
Planes currently available to rank 1 players (on allied side):
hawk75
d.520
Hurricane Mk Ia
Hurricane Mk IIb
Spitfire Mk Ia
Blenheim Mk IF
Blenheim Mk IV
Difficult planes to use at the present game, but they're all still quite capable. And the hurricane Mk IIb is FANTASTIC for attacking ground targets... what with the twelve machineguns!! And ALL of those planes (except perhaps the blen IV) are quite capable of destroying enemy CAS (close air support) planes: the Ju87 Stuka, Bf110C4, and the Bf110C4B (the one that carries bombs), as well as the He111 and the Ju52.
3) There are several ways to change flags in a town. It can get to be complicated, so I'll try to simplify it:
The 'AO/DO' system. It was implemented to help direct players to the fight; without it people were spread out ALL OVER the map, at EVERY town, and there wasn't nearly as much cohesion.
Here's how it works:
It's basically a CTF (capture the flag) system.
An AO (attack order) is placed on a town. The side (axis or allied) that controls that town automatically places a DO (defense order) on that town. As soon as the AO/DO is successfully placed, tables appear in all of the depots (and city flags). Ten minutes later, radios appear on those tables.
If there is a radio on a table, you can literally bump into that table and begin the capture process. A 60-second timer counts down, during which time if you move from your spot (you can still rotate your avatar, just can't walk/crawl away) or fire any of your weapons OR you are killed the timer restarts. After 60 seconds, that facility becomes the property of your side and the town becomes contested.
If a given town/city remains contested for at least ten minutes, then all hell can break loose. When it first becomes contested, tables appear in the critical bunkers: the AB (armybase) bunkers, AF (airfield) bunkers, and docks buildings. If all ABs in a town are captured, then the ability to spawn ground units by the side that originally owned that town is completely disabled and the ground brigades are kicked out of that town; same for docks + naval units, and AF bunkers + air force units.
Basically: if you played as german, captured a depot in an allied town and kept it contested for ten minutes... then captured the ONLY armybase in that town then the allied brigade is removed. To complete the capture, you must own ALL depots, armybases, docks flags, airfield bunkers, and all facilities in an enemy town. Then and only then does a town change hands. At that time, the High Command (HC) can move units into that town.
Not quite as complicated as it sounds because most small towns only have 4-6 flags: two depots to linking towns, a city flag, and an AB bunker. The largest towns have at least 20, with THE largest - Antwerp - having something like 32 facilities: four ABs, four docks flags, an airfield bunker and a crapload of depots and random flags strewn about the city with I think 6 or 7 towns linked to it.
4) try playing as an anti-tank gun (ATG) or AAA (anti-aircraft artillery) gun. Spawn a 2 pounder ATG or 25mm AAA; both are great, and you don't need someone to tow you to get to the action quickly. It still takes about 5 minutes to walk from a firebase to an enemy town, but you'll likely meet the enemy before then if there's a lot of action.
Yeah point and click.
Rather than attacking, go on defense. Or spawn in a town with enemy spawns in it.
I paradrop, so I'm usually far away when I am near the action.
Man this sucks I have a very very nice computer and I get lots of fps problems..Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones.
Same here. Some people have almost crap systems yet they get great FPS. I just haven't bothered to check the tech support forum myself, otherwise I'd have my problems resolved. I recommend you do this.
I tried air again, pressed (') ser rpm to maximum appeared and run the throttle up..................nothing.
Just went accross the airfield on tickover.
Tried ([]) too but think there just for tanks.
It's defenatly recognising my stick though as all other flight controls worked, even the twist rudder, where am i going wrong?
Be sure to find the 'toggle tail lock' button; this unlocks the small steering wheel mounted underneath the tail, which will make maneuvering on the airfield easier. I recommend you apply a SMALL amount of throttle so you can taxi to a good spot, point your nose at whichever side or corner of the airfield has the least obstructions (read: TREES!) then go to max throttle.
The propellor creates a lot of torque, so don't be surprised if your nose suddenly dips down a bit or the plane wants to pull to the left or right. Keep a steady hand on the joystick and be prepared to pull back SLIGHTLY and apply a little rudder.
If you're in an RAF (british) ride, and you're at max RPM and max throttle... the takeoff speed is around 80 miles per hour. Try to get to 100mph if you can before you start pulling back too hard. Otherwise you'll just stall on takeoff and crash.
I paradrop, so I'm usually far away when I am near the action.
after your chute has opened, try steering with the lean left and lean right keys ("Q" and "E" respectively).
conversely... after your chute has deployed, you can open your map once... while it's open, move the mouse around, then close the map and then you can steer with the mouse!
How on earth do you get the vehicles to move?
Tried with a vickers light tank and a Bristol blenhiem aircraft but once the engine starts it justs sits there, it says in the controls that my joystick throttle controls it, but it doesn't acknowledge anything when i run it up and down, while i was in the tank too i changed the controls to give me a secondary key as (=) but that either did nothing or lowered the revs.
Any idea's?
The game as ifantry seems good, second time it spawened me about 10k from the target though and the only tank to get a ride was upside down....
Would like to try it in the air next though.
With the tanks, you need to press the 'shift up' and 'shift down' buttons... because you have to shift into gear. You'll have to repeat this if you want to move at higher speeds. And don't expect to move too quickly off-road with tanks; they are fastest while on the road but also the most vulnerable because of the lack of cover (catch 22). Be sure to press the 'reverse' button to shift into the reverse gears, then the 'shift up' button to actually shift into reverse.
By default, steering to the left/right with the joystick uses the 'left clutch & left brake' / 'right clutch & right brake' controls simultaneously. You can edit this, but if you remove the braking function from left/right steering then your tank won't be able to rotate or turn very quickly.
As far as the blenheim.. see what I posted above.
I tried to get the trial, I filled everything out, but then nothing happens, any help?
Edit:
I've tried it 6 times.
Edit:
Sorry for the double post, but I love infiltration so what should I do to get the most out of the game?
As far as infltration? Try camping an enemy spawn with a rifle, picking them off from a distance. That or take a submachinegunner. Move from bush to bush, hedgerow to hedgerow. Stick to cover so you aren't seen, and watch out for the AI-controlled sentry towers and the sandbag MG pits; both will mow you down very fast if you get in front of them and get too close!
This game rewards those infantry players that are patient, sneaky, and SMART; the best iteration of this is the sapper. If you can sneak up to an enemy tank without being spotted, and know where to plant one of your explosive satchel charges to blow up the tank (or set it on fire for pretty colors) then you get 40 points for killing the tank... IF you can successfully return to base.
By the way... the paratrooper rifleman gets a satchel charge so even though you can't spawn the regular sapper infantry you still get to blow up tanks with satchels :) Takes practice to know where the sap spots are and to be able to sneak up on enemy tanks effectively without being spotted.
well i think i got it working but there are no planes available now at level 1.
Infantry seems pretty awful though, there are only ever a few areas that are actually doing somthing and you have to walk for 15 mins to get to battle, and because of that your on your own, i don't know what to do or where to go, the target icons are normally away from anything of significance and theres no changing the flags over to allied even if there are no germans to be seen.
There's not been any naval action with the exeption of gunboats used to help defend a town in the north.
The paradrops look interesting though, will probobly play them when i can untill the planes are available.
The airforce intrests me but i can't try it, when do the numbers re-set so that i can have a try on planes with a rank of 1?
ANDY COME FIND ME TONIGHT ~2300 EST (11:00PM) and I'll help you with the problems you're having. My username is keitel66, email keitel66@gmail.com.
