you guys should really pay for your game now...
I'll be happy to, but all the time there giving it to us for free it'd be silly to. It looks like they didn't change the download when it stopped asking for your credit card, so the game carries on assuming it's going to automaticly come out of your account.....but it doesn't. It is, i'm sure a problem they are aware of. There must be after all hundreds of people that took it up when they no-longer needed a credit card. As soon as they spot it i'll pay through my papal account. When does the map/equipment re-set?
when one side wins. Lol. Also, epic win at eindhoven. First a sherman killed me after i hit it 5 times on tracks with pak 38 but then i rolled out a stug, lost one track, spotted a sherman and blasted it to pieces! took 8 75mm ap rounds and 2 heat. Ap rounds de-tracked him and heat finished it. After that i went lmg,atr but most noticable, smg. got 8 kills with smg while alone and killed 2 enemy ms. We had to retreat as we lost FB. We were winning in the city. edit: 10th day.

In intermission there are no rank restrictions. It usually lasts maybe 2 days or so.

The game as a hole seems preety balanced, a side may do well for a few days but then the other side normally takes a few back and after a little over 2 weeks the map is almost the same with mabee Germans having 2 - 3 more towns. But if it were to go on like that it'll take ages. Is it just who has done better after a time is up?

What constitutes a win would be the allies capturing most of the German Factories and if the Germans capture everything to the English coast. Unfortunately Battle of Britain's are a little broken. So we usually don't spend too long in one of those.
How many days past are you?
About 4 I'd gladly pay up if I had the money. I'll just keep playing until they fix it, and then I'll see where I'll go from there.
Do you need a controller to play as artillery? And is it as complicated as flying?
It was at wellin last night.
Norwonder... Edit:
Do you need a controller to play as artillery? And is it as complicated as flying?
Flying is pretty simple once you get the hang of it.
Everything is. You can use mouse for atg or anything really, buy joystick makes it easier and you don't need a mouse pad of half a mile.
I'd gladly pay up if I had the money. I'll just keep playing until they fix it, and then I'll see where I'll go from there.
That's great to hear! The issue here is that for trial accounts, if your end date is on the 29th, 30th, or 31st, we bump that to the 1st of the next month. And the trial is already padded by one day to cover for International Date Line issues and the like. Thus, if you created your trial on the 14th - 16th of a month, your trial will last until the 1st of the next month. I'm glad many of you are enjoying yourselves. So I won't be getting a free trial month? Damn. :v: I might buy the subscription if I won't get kicked out in a day because of the recruitment thingy and if I learn to play this thing properly. I'd hate to work out all those points again, and I'm gonna hit the bed soon so it won't be possible today.

That only applies if your in a squad. oh and hi BLOO
Whoa, an official CRS guy. Hey, can you make the game easier to run? It runs poorly on my system but if I could run it I would get it in a heartbeat. My specs are: 2GB RAM x1300 ATI Radeon 3.0Ghz Processor.

Otherwise I think you should be able to run it pretty well with the graphic settings turned down a bit. Also when you run this game disable vertical sync, enabling does nothing but hurt your FPS

I see a lot of quotes on loading screens about the Soviets.

I have everything set to low/off, except for of course the things that help my system.

One of the game dev commenting on the current game engine
It's a hulking ugly pile of spaghetti held together with band-aids and trying to look like a Federation Starship but in actuality it's a 1962 Volkswagen. We have to replace it with something better and cleaner and more capable and we are doing that.
:v: Here's the full story
Ok, where to begin. With v1.28 we moved forwards on some things you may not be aware of causing you a problem or two, but we had held them back for a very long time. With Jeagers enhancements it seemed a good time to bite the bullet. One of those things was updating Shader rendering (but we still held back v2.0 Shader because that would have crippled you even though all games of any decent visual appeal run Shader v2.0 now) ... and most of the models are also higher poly/texture these days than they were in the past, in addition to standardizing out low res textures where we had a lot of mismatch we had collected over the years of update patches to the same old core game code. Remember this game engine was built in 1999 when the best video performance it had to be compliant to give was a Voodoo 3 video card ! We added more battleground stuff people want, hulks and dead bodies, much better smoke and explosion effects. It's really asking too much of this Voodoo 3 era render routine, we have over the years added more and more and more and more of everything. Basically our render engine is just an old dinosaur. You can see this two ways. Way one is it sucks and fix it! We can't really do that we have to replace it. We are currently right in the middle of doing exactly that. Our current beta dev. cycle (v1.29) is all over the floor like a patient with his guts spread around like a grenade went off in his belly button as we rip into this long overdue task. It's a big task too. Way two is to be amazed that with 1999 Voodoo 3 graphics technology as it's core being and having added Shader v1.0 (which was not included as part of the available deal when we started out) ... quadrupled the models polygons . .. exchanged every 2D building object we could for 3D ones (how about more than 10 times as many tringles ?) ... invented a Speedtree solution the owners of Speedtree could not offer to get 3D vegetation (originally all vegetation was 2D) ... resized and doubled texture resolution, created 8 times the object memory demands we started with ... created explosion and hit effects and smoke solutions that look much more modern than the engine was built to render at all ... way two is to be amazed it runs at all and can even PRETEND to look like a game world even remotely acceptable and able to render 128 player models at the same time (we started out at a quarter of that) and yet not turn into a smoking seizure blacking out your entire household during a rerun of Band of Brothers. It's a hulking ugly pile of spaghetti held together with band-aids and trying to look like a Federation Starship but in actuality it's a 1962 Volkswagen. We have to replace it with something better and cleaner and more capable and we are doing that. While we are doing that, be aware what this poor game/render engine is doing and tweak, or dial back, or whatever you can while we make a better one that isn't trying to do 2008 stuff with 1999 technology never designed to do it in the first place. That's all I can tell you, we did the best we could with this old warhorse and now it has to go out to pasture, and while I know it would be GREAT to get one last Kentucky Derby out of the old mare she ain't got another start left in her. We are stuck with what we have for now, and there is no solution but the new render solution we are working on right now. Unity 1.5 (v1.28) is doing better than the old Unity 1.0 was (I know you don't believe it but you never saw v1.28 run under Unity 1.0, it was worse than v1.27 was no question) and Unity 2.0 is our only (and your only ) way to get out from under the limitations you are currently suffering and call stutters, but in fact are much more than just "stutters" at render runtime.
Best description ever.
I wanna see Africa as playable area.
Oh, well looks like my trial has come to an end. I remember someone saying further back you can pay through papal, how do i do that? as when i go through to sign up on the website all i get are options of credit cards and no papal option.
The PayPal and other "offline" options (i.e., not credit cards through us) are available for subscriptions of 3 months or longer. You have to choose that amount of time first, then those options appear. Raidyr, you should be getting decent, but not amazing performance with that system. Make sure you've disabled as much other software as possible. Check you FPS with the numlock key when spawned in. And try it offline to get a baseline (you won't get offline framerates online anywhere near a fight, but if offline is way low - something is wrong). Also, make sure you have your actual sound card selected in the Settings.exe program in your \Battleground Europe\ folder - otherwise, the "Primary Sound Driver" makes your CPU do all the sound work, which can be extensive. As always, check your video and sound drivers are up-to-date. Finally, you might need to play at 1024 res. Remember that really big fights with lots of stuff going on can slam just about any system. Eastern Front / North Africa: We're not making any projections on other theaters right now while we have our scenegraph under a complete rebuild. And doing those would require more technology that we don't have working now, primarily a way to populate a massive space with villages, towns, cities, etc. - doing that stuff by hand is not viable (hand 'tweaking' yes, hand building from scratch as the current terrain was developed - no way). Those whose trial just ended - I can't say anything now but you might wait a couple of days for some news on a new offer. :)
Just tried infantry for the first time, and I can't stand how long it takes to recharge your stamina. I'm going back to flying.
Just tried infantry for the first time, and I can't stand how long it takes to recharge your stamina. I'm going back to flying.
That's why you need to conserve it. Don't run all at once. Also when you do run out, find some cover, lie down and have it recharge. When you're keeping an eye out for enemy infantry while you recover it seems to go a lot faster.
Tell you the truth, it was nothing good compared to planet side.
Tell you the truth, it was nothing good compared to planet side.
Meh I never liked planet side besides didn't that game get completely fucked up or something
Meh I never liked planet side besides didn't that game get completely fucked up or something
I think they fixed it. At anyrate, I wanna give this game a try. It looks really awesome. Once it's downloaded I'm gonna fart around in offline some.
