What the hell, we are in Germany now. Germans beware, DEFEAT IS IMMINENT!!
Yep. Germans have pretty much lost this one. HC was pretty stupid and we lost like 6 divisions.
I was in a paradrop a while back. Ju-52 and about 50 men. My gun was gone, thus my iron sight was bugging out, so I just ran into a bunker and threw all my grenades.
You might have accidentally pressed N or L. N toggles free look and L puts your weapon down, not on the ground just off screen.
Game's nucking amazing, played since 06. Very fun if you don't like games where you run around looking for stupid health packs or recharges (half life series=exception) Very fun getting kills instead of getting mad because you didn't kill 15 guys like the usual in some other dumb game. What people usually rant about is graphics, quite honestly, they are not bad unless you are a spoiled graphic turd that needs graphics. Some areas are flat and buildings look a lil weird here and there, but it's something I never really took notice to. And thank god it's not a game where you flip out because your 40 HP panzer took a 36 damage lol. People also complain about dying in a tank because they don't understand what happens when a shell hits their tank: from what distance, what caliber, what velocity, what angle, are all factors of whether or not the shell penetrates. Very very fun game, honestly no words to describe it, gotta play it to understand it's awesomely amazingness. Edit: they are releasing a new engine soon that will remodel landscape and building. And 90% of buildings you see are enerable and 100% are destructable. I'll admit, the large city building are bad, but they are wanting to replace those with the realease of their new engine.
Thanks figgy S!
I would suggest this game. I've been playing it since 2001.If you do sign up though, be prepared to be extremely frustrated with the game. Axis get fucked ALL the time, so i would suggest playing allied. CRS refuses to acknowledge problems within the game and insist their game is perfect.
thanks... also be aware many players have some opinions about the game they should keep in playskool
thanks... also be aware many players have some opinions about the game they should keep in playskool
I'll keep it where ever the fuck I want. I've payed for the game since 2001, i'll let everyone know what i fucking think of it.

I don't mind being on the axis while their losing, Axis players have no arrogance, they are always like "Well I can try to kill him but can you come with me please :3."
I saw plenty enough, even though he didn't choose a specific game.
I meant specific game but it's all true.
Whoa, funny to read your experiences from my point of view as a "so-called veteran". Warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Like people said, this game has its glitches and sweet spots. Lots of the attraction comes from the interaction and just plain action with Your Squad. Squads are the backbone of the game. Someone mentioned the alps previously, sure enough, they're modeled! Here are the screen shots of my sortie there, one time, "at band camp": http://www.troopers.fi/~juuba/ww2ol/Mt.Blanc/ Bunch of other shots in the parent folder: http://www.troopers.fi/~juuba/ww2ol/ Some are WAAAAY old, others are more fresh. S! (means salute!) from a Finnish ww2(l)oller!
I kinda lost interest now :( , mainly because i have not spend 3 days behing my computer. And trail should be over. Maybe some other time again.
I wish I could get more veterans in here to tell of their game experiences.
Tomorrow the war will be over! There will be peace in Europe! I've been thinking the whole day though, what would have happened if the allies had made a offensive like the one Allies made in WW2O? And won WW2 in 1940?
I'd play it if 1. It was a one-time fee. 2. If I didn't think IL-2 was a better game for my forty bucks and 3. If I wasn't already saving up for a PS3.

All the planes in IL-2 just feel like they fly the same to me. Every vehicle in this game is feels different to control. When I fly in IL-2 it feels like the plane is flying on rails. Also this game has the ground element which IL-2 doesn't have. Edit:
Tomorrow the war will be over! There will be peace in Europe! Then Intermission will start, I think all of you will enjoy intermission :) Also the only reason allied managed to go to that offensive is because our current HC is incompetent. With 1.27 came the ToE patch which changed the way supply worked. In the old game the allies were pretty much two separate armies. They couldn't move say an English Infantry brigade into a French town. With ToE the allies became one army so the axis HC were no longer able to exploit that allied weakness. Most of the axis HC at the moment is just really bad. It's not organized and most of the time players don't even know what the hell they're doing. Or they're at one of the P1 AO's and instead of leading the people they told to attack the area in the first place, they're out doing missions with their squads. So naturally axis are blaming their equipment which is funny because for a while the axis dominated because of the above tactic. While allies were getting steamrolled guess what they blamed...their equipment :rolleye:. Axis need to adapt or lose. here's current map:

I'll have to look into that. 2. Everyone has their opinion, but I've played IL2 since launch in 2001 and I've only paid 40 bucks for it total. I honestly feel like I'm in a plane. You also have to consider that this game's physics engine is over 7 years old. The latest upgrade of the Sturmi engine was in 2006. 3. Exactly, but if I got this game I'd probably only fly on it anyway.
You should try it! Also this games physics engine is from 1999. The entire engine is from 1999 which is why a lot of people have performance issues. Over the years they've done nothing but improve it and that's caused performance issues. That's going to be fixed soon with Unity II. Think of the game engine this way. It's a piece of crap they've been polishing over the years but no matter how pretty you make it look, it's still a piece of crap. Even though the visuals of this game in 2001 look like vomit to you in 2008, in 2001 it was like Crysis

And also because allies seem to have way more Sherman's than axis tigers. I personally blamed allies for having too many tanks and them being too heavily armoured, but after going allied for 2 seconds, and not being able to spawn a single tank, i figured allies just seem to have more since they roll them all out! Fact remains though, allies should use their tanks less recklessly. Many times we were just out gunned and out armoured as infantry on assault, but we try not to attack with tanks without infantry support! Like allies did a couple days ago. Wasting like 4m10s, 3 shermans and something else. I doubt they even shot back since we were defending and it was night. I myself shot a truck and 2 m10s with my 50mm atg. As for the HC not going to the front lines. I did run into 2 HC guys at the front line, but both were flying a junkers and a load of paras. Edit:
You should try it! For a flight sim the map details look awesome, but for ground battles (infantry) it lacks. there's not many tank sims, but most don't look much better. So yeah, you're right.

You really have to play both sides in equal amount of time for a long time. A lot of people don't do this and just make stupid biased opinions that are wrong in every way possible. You saw what the allies were doing as a waste of tanks and that they were recklessly throwing their tanks at you. Now try allied for a while and see how the axis treat their tanks.
Yeah i know axis collums also get ambushed and "owned". It happens i guess. And yeah, i kinda did some dumb things with tanks, but i always try not to "waste" tanks. If i know it's hot, i take a tank noone uses or we have too many. God damn i hate pannards! I hate the sound of a pannard in the morning..I heard it too many times. And most of the time it's unsappable and we have no tanks near. does allied infantry have a sound they fear / hate? As for trying allied. I won't, because they will kick me out of the squad. Last time i also got kicked (for the 30 seconds i was allied). But perhaps i will next time when i play again.
What squad are you in sami?
1775th rdf Kinda funny, because i found out that last time i did free trail (year ago or something) i had joined the same squad.
What's your in-game name?
Heh, me and a 17 pounder had an ATG duel. Not sure how I lost, since my HE rounds were landing right beside him, and occasionally on him.
