Oh by the way the new campaign has started. Intermission is over and we're back at tier 0
Inferior flight physics? This game uses actual physics for flight. IL-2 runs off of a table. Yeah I agree pay to play sucks but how else would they make the money
And you've said that how many times? About four or five? Repeating won't help a bit. I think you're outnumbered here. Edit:
no no no it was a COMPLETE disaster. When it was first released it was literally unplayable because it wasn't finished, pressure from the big bad bosses to release it. It's in the top 5 of the biggest game launch disasters. The game now is far from disaster. It's the best it has ever been. Besides the Battlefield games aim towards a completely different audience.
That's why they re-released it. They lost more than half of their players and tried to get any hope of a fanbase back. Now really, would you rather have this: (F4U Rocks) or this?: You can make your own skins in IL2 You can crash your plane in many other ways in IL2 You can fly more than 300 planes in IL2 You have better cockpits in IL2 You can play forever for only $40 in IL2 BG:E has a bigger map BG:E has less planes BG:E has more players BG:E costs MUCH more (180-200 dollars a year) Ashes, this is a battle of opinion, but I choose to travel the IL2 path.
IL2, it's a flight sim right? Battle won.
Right-o, I dunno what they call a 'sim' about this game. I didn't know that you could turn a 90 in 2 seconds. Planes behave right in IL2. Oleg actually spent work getting the flight of the planes right. Edit: IL2 is praised highly by almost every single reviewer. This game didn't. They say Battlefield 2 was better.
So wait your telling me the only reason anyone ever plays Battleground Europe is only to fly planes? If you'd actually play BG:E you'd realise you can drive tanks, boats, trucks and be infantry. Can you tell me where the cheat is so i can drive tanks in IL2 please? Oh wait there isn't one.

Battleground is on artificial breathing right now. Unless they do something about it, it won't grow better. And yeah, when you look at it, it sucks. Few players, pay to play and bad engine. But fact is that it's the only game that offers real-time massive multi player war.
How about you shut the fuck up. I HAVE played battleground Europe AND IL2. Don't try it. The flight sim has is better for flying than a game devoted to having multiple different styles of gameplay. That's like hating Grand Theft Auto because Forza 2/Gran Turismo can do the driving sections better. Also, I didn't know people still complained about monthly subscriptions for MMO's anymore. Lol.
Ah. I realized yesterday that a 360 controller can be used to fly planes. It works quite well. Unfortunately, by this time, the new campaign had started and I was stuck flying British Hurricanes. Can't wait to get Spitfires back. Also. I don't see why people are comparing this and a flight sim. Obviously the flight sim would have better flight characteristics. But this game is meant to be a representation of massive online war. Not a flight sim. And as far as I know, BG:E is the only type of game that even attempts that. Also being a paratrooper is awesome. Me and like ten other guys dropped into Cromstrijen last night. We were massacred, but it was fun while it lasted.

When someone likes a flight sim more than another..it is because he is getting his ass handed to him to the one he doesn't like:-)

Because no matter how hard you try to make it "right" it will never mimic real life. Funny thing about this whole argument is you have no idea what you're talking about. Which just makes everything better. Just leave the thread before you make yourself look like a complete idiot.
I think planetside is the better choice for most games in this genre, but if you are a fan of WW2 or hate BFRs WW2 online is not half bad.
I think planetside is the better choice for most games in this genre, but if you are a fan of WW2 or hate BFRs WW2 online is not half bad.
Yeah, I got the trial and loved what I saw, but I have to get a better PC. When I do, I am so getting this.
Yeah, I got the trial and loved what I saw, but I have to get a better PC. When I do, I am so getting this.
Check this thread to see if your computer is ready for Unity II and Shader 2.0 http://forums.battlegroundeurope.com/showthread.php?t=215806
Yeah, I got the trial and loved what I saw, but I have to get a better PC. Right click on your ww2.exe and selcet compatibilty then NT to help with stutters. Run a lower resolution..but no lower than 1024xc768x32. Rasie your monitor's referesh rate higher than 60hz windows default just to ease the eye strain. Most LCDs wont run higher tho. You can select fewer than 128 in view, and turn off some grass and trees distance under videos. Make sure under the CRS WW2 in the desktop Settings you have your soundcard driver selected and not the generic windows driver. See if that improves your FPS. What are you comp specs?

Admit pay for play sucks and DEAL WITH IT, fanboy. In almost every thread you post in that relates to multiplayer online games, GUESS WHAT I SEE? BATTLEGROUND EUROPE! So shut the fuck up and stop being a blind, defiant asshole. I've played all of the entry vehicles. Stop being an attention whore and shut up. Do you even realize one of the reasons I bash this game is because I am 21 and work for my own money and don't get my subscription code paid for by mommy or daddy?
hm why are you still here
-100 respect points
-100 respect points
what's that supposed to mean? He's the one trolling the thread if he doesn't wanna pay for the goddamn game nobody's forcing him to. Yeah pay to play sucks and yeah he can't pay for it that sucks but it's not going to change the fact that it's pay to play. Calling me an attention whore isn't helping or making false assumptions. This is trailing off topic, back about the game.
Downloaded this 3 hours ago. I went Axis... Spent the first 20 minutes failing to fly a plane. 40 minutes as a paratrooper failing to take a key town and bridge An hour defending Marche from the French... And not failing. 20 minutes being surrounded by British tanks in a remote army base while air support was busy showing off to their mothers. And then the final 40 minutes working out how to rebind joystick controls to the mouse and keyboard and SUCCEEDING then flying around for a bit, ending up somewhere in Germany I wasn't supposed to be, then turning back to dive bomb the mission target, at which point I lost connection and plummeted into a group of trees.

I played this months ago, Had a load of fun, and almost joined a squad. But ever since then I haven't had the money to spend on this. Keep buying other games :D.
Hell yes... And in all that time, I didn't kill a single guy. Came close to thrice, but never got the killing shot in. I got 3 points apparently, don't know what from.

I killed someone in the first 5 minutes of game play, 2 hours later and nothing.
Thought some of you might think this is cool. It's a Fallschirmjäger Training movie in colour
Wait! I think I saw you in game a bunch of times in a hurricane today, was it you?
No, Haven't played since the last time. I probably will play again in June.

BKB is always looking for newbies as are other squads. Hit the F2 button and shout you want to join one.

You can't really do anything to change their opinions so you just have to deal with them.
