CUBE mod : Half-Life 2 meets Portal meets Lost (Other-Life Mods)

i had a hunch and it spun off into this
i'm truly amazing
Alright, I'll give you the same answer as I do not fall into the category of so called "no life shitposters": you're most certainly not the brightest fellow we've seen around these parts, and I don't think anybody here wants your mod or your stolen content.
Attend the tale of SARMA Cube - it is the grave for many noobs. In this strange Cube some gentlemen lost so they never were heard of again... One day they all were sacrificed in SARMA Cube, the deadly complex with strange aims.

GTFO, STFU, it seems not being a "no life shitposter" don't make you more clever, because it's not MY mod, again.
I'm just spreading the word to the community (the "silent majority" of FP) that there is this surprising mod released. I was not aware, until BP dev' posted it, that there was stolen content.
Besides the 1187 project (with its team reduced to only ONE member), the Human Error project (it seems Au-Heppa and his fellows don't give a damn any more about it), the remakes (in... fall 2012? 2013? who knows?), and Underhell and Titan XCIX, there is nothing more to see. Until THIS. This project is like a little miracle in the modding world. Unexpected and amazing.
Facepunch will sometimes feel so empty, without me, who's your daddy? :)
atleast i'm not using windows vista and safari
I know what you and your fellow fatass myopic twisted friends are trying to do : Trying to make me ban again. But I won't fall into your obvious trap.
From now on, I will just hit the report button for "flood" and "off topic" that you constantly do and at least this thread will be back to normal soon.

Seriously though. The "mod" may be great, I dunno, I won't be downloading it, but its apparent greatness is going to be completely overshadowed by the fact that it is stolen content. Thats just how it is. Go and scurry off if you must, I just hope that Facepunch can recover from the loss of such a great poster as yourself.
When Mystery Combat Men from one of the "regular member" of FP was deleted from moddb because of stolen content, you were more upset, I remember.
I played it and it's fun :(

Seeing what you posted in this thread, I think you jinxed it up. :v:
Oh god. I startled the witch again
Damn its now chasing fp'ers!
All of this wouldn't have happened if BP creator stood cool.
He is "standing cool." He even said if you asked him he'd let you use his content. Are you dense or what?
[editline]12th March 2012[/editline]
And don't even try to say you're not a dev for this mod. You're either a dev, or you're a friend of a dev.
But BP is a Portal mod, not HL2 mod.
They had to convert the contents, at least.
Convert? No they didn't. They just dragged and dropped.
I'm sorry the mod was taken down, but they shouldn't have stolen content. It WAS fun, but the fact that 90% of the game was stolen from other things just made it horrible (seriously, they took sounds from a Fallout 3 mod. That's not even the same fucking engine).
Man, this is all so silly.

Reported mod page and download page.
I found a spelling error on year 1989. It says meeing, instead of meeting
EDIT: wow, I didn't even read the thread. Has anyone contacted the creator of Cube to see if they'll credit the people for their models?
So, has anyone finished the full mod yet? I was smart enough to load a save from before the[sp]"fake" ending[/sp], but soon after that it began crashing every two mins or so with that vertex_buffer_error, and as the mod was already causing me aggravation, I just gave up. Can anyone tell me the[sp]real ending?[/sp]
Lol, just loaded the last map hoping it would work and it did, you forgot the part where [sp]If you get past the metrocops by flailing your crowbar, screaming "Gordon Freeman!", and running like a boss, you get to the drop down part, get another hallucination, get the "Your test is done" text in the box on your screen, and then get the end credits.[/sp]
To the mod's credit, it does name the mods that it lifted material from, in the end-game credits (from what I saw in [sp]the fake ending[/sp]). Still, doesn't excuse it from having lifted the material without asking.
So I'm stuck in one of the later levels, and I'm not sure if I'm blind to the solution or if I've encountered a game-breaking bug. v:v:v
I'm in cube09a, [sp]the first of the unfinished levels, with a fuse panel and a button that doesn't work. Image for location: http://i.imgur.com/U6Ij9.jpg
I'm positive that I'm supposed to replace the three fuses in the panel with the fuses scattered around the level. But that isn't working, so I'm stumped![/sp]
Holy shit so much plagiarism, it stole music from Nine Inch Nails. I recognized the song immediately.

stole
i'm sorry, but so many other mods use music from people like nine inch nails, so what's the big deal with the music..
Does anyone else get a "too many indices for index buffer. . tell a programmer (33636 > 32768)" error in chapter 2?

I get that crap all the time.
I get that crap all the time.
Is there another way around it, or just moving to the next map with the console?

First of all, it's plagiarism unless he credits the author (which he didn't); which fits under stealing.
Second of all, it's just astonishing to me on how much content, not just the music, this mod has stolen.

I really just want to point out two things:

What's happened is that the creator has taken content without thinking to ask the creators first. Material is still more or less credited, though it isn't apparent unless you view the end-game credits.
Which is a shame, because the mod itself is actually enjoyable to an extent.
Still should have asked first. A ModDB admin has already talked to a friend of mine about closing the mod down.
Also it says "ideas" were used from them. Not textures/models/sounds/etc.
There's no justification for stealing another mod's textures, even if credit is given, and even in this case only partial credit is given. Stealing is stealing, even if the mod is really good or really bad.

If its from the Ghosts album then it's not a big deal, it being public domain and all.
