Well what I did was run up to her base and do a Devastator (or 2 if I could get away with it). The ground spike devastator works the best. Then retreat down the street and around the corner and consume zombies until I have enough health for another devastator. If you are being chased by hunters go to the rooftops and fight them alone. Be sure to consume them.
The Ground Spike Devastator (might not be the real name, I forget) is the most affective weapons you have. Even better than the Artillery Strike. When the flesh is torn off her spine she will pull underground. Do a Spike Devastator then for maximum damage. Remember, you must be at her base for it to hit her. And don't attack Blackwatch, they aren't after you.
I do the groundspike graveyard when all 3 tentacle things are there, and when she's on the floor/vulnerable I go critical pain
I found Critical Pain to be rather weak against her. Although I never tried hitting her while she was down, however while she was up it's damage was pretty poor compared to Groundspike.
Yeah, groundspike is better for it - Also hurts all 3, compared to critical pain's 1
No game has made me angrier than this game. I've had a headache for like 2 hours. Fucking damnit.

Freeroam always calms me down after a frustrating mission.

Especially going around with the muscle mass punching everyone and making them explode.
Whenever I get really annoyed I'll go wreck the shit of whoever upset me. If Hunters have me angry I'll destroy a hive or 2. If the Army got me pissed I'll go use a devastator in their base.
One time I went into an Army Base and consumed every person in there without alerting anyone. It was actually kinda funny.
What do you guys recommend for killing groups of hunters?
I've found that the Blade arm and the Fist one (can't remember what it's called) are good for single ones, but I get interrupted alot by another hunter.
Weak the group of hunters with drop attacks then wound them with Blade and consume them one by one.
Fucking love this game.
The Last Remnant and Prototype is the fucking best games of the year (fuck sims 3)

I don't even consider Sims 3 a game.
Anyway, this and inFamous are definitely my games of the year so far. Awaiting Bioshock 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

Use Critical Mass if you have the HP.
A fully charged street sweeper would do a decent amount of damage, but requires predicting when they'll be in range (if they're already in range when you start to charge, you won't finish

I've seen that before, I found it hilarious when he started smashing his fists together
I've spent the last five days turning the city inside out, but it seems I'm missing one hint orb and three collectibles. I knew this was coming, but it still ticks me off.
I don't like Critical Pain, why do you guys use it so much? I tend to miss all the time even when I target.

It's to be used on big slow targets.

If you have max armor skill, i found it easiest to jack a tank and strafe side to side in the street and just let the lead out.
I still don't get what people like about this game so much.
I played and beat it and the freeroam is the worst I have ever played.
The missions are the same thing over and over and the story is all over the place.
So i wanna mod the shit outta this game

Yeah and I want to mod Mercs 2
Right now there is only 5 things I feel I'd really want to change about this game.
1. Humvees instead of Big Cargo Trucks. Why would they have so many cargo trucks everywhere? I mean sure there would be a few but not as many as we see. And despite being incredibly plentiful, and much better suited to the urban environment, Humvees are not seen once.
2. More Police. I think I saw like maybe 10 cops total during the entire game. I think the Police should patrol non-military and non-infected zones. Maybe give some of them closer to infected zones have Assault Rifles to help deal with the outbreak. They will also have the ability to contact Strike Teams.
3. Less Blackwatch. These guys are supposed to be Black Ops, hiding behind the Marines, doing most of the work, but doing it quietly. Yet Black Apache helicopters and soldiers running around everywhere isn't exactly that secret. Instead there should be Marines everywhere, with Blackwatch only showing up at the most infected areas and when you are being Hunted.
4. Battle Lines. Rather than having Infected zones just suddenly end with civilian life going on normally just a block away, they should have had walls with gun turrets around the perimeter of the Infected zone, similar to the Army base set-ups.
5. Better city at End. Instead of randomly scattered military and infected zones, how about having the part of the south of the island still infected, with a strip of military in the southern-middle, and normal civilian activities to the entire North side. Also, Cops in the North could be dressed in SWAT gear with Assault Rifles and have the ability to call Strike Teams. Bridges will not be blocked, but have detectors, UAV, and supersoldiers to guarantee nothing infected can get through undetected.
This is shit. My sound ingame is completely mute. I've looked it up on gamefaqs and other sites and still can't get it to work.
Good game.

I'm pretty sure the police can already contact strike teams.

That would be some good stuff.
Guys, for whatever reason, I can't pull off devastators any more. D: I have critical mass, the claws equipped, that special armour thingy and press and hold square, then press triangle, but nothing happens. He either does the heavy square hit and then the triangle hit, or just does the spikes from the triangle attack.
No devastators work any more, they all just do the damn combo. I did them yesterday with ease, why the heck won't it work any more?
EDIT: I found out, I was doing the right thing all along. I either didn't hold long enough or got knocked away before Alex could finish the animation and start the attack.
On a side note, a fully charged whiplash on one of the three things covering her spine take away about 50% of its life. Extremely effective...
Prototype 2 should have upgradeable powers, ones that permanently make a difference to all of a certain power's moves. For instance, Blade could go to both arms and become Double Blade, Claws could grow twice the size for greatly increased range, Whipfist could affect both arms and allow you to swing Spiderman - esque, Armour could just be bigger and more badass, and Musclemass could make Alex grow really grotesquely tank.
