You haven't loaded the mod properly. There's not supposed to be a minimap in the HUD. follow the readme carefully.

Starting new game goes to normal crysis, so I press ~ and type con_restricted 0 then type map red_mesa

Then the mod simply CAN'T be loaded properly. Try to reinstall it. Then make sure there is a folder called "red_mesa" in Crysis/game/levels and a folder called redmesa in Crysis/mods. Then launch Red Mesa by pressing the icon "play red mesa" do NOT launch crysis and type in the map on the console there. It wont work. Once you see the menu type in "map red_mesa" if new game doesn't work.

The installer works perfectly fine. You just haven't loaded the mod properly.
I'm not trolling, I used the installed it is supposedly "installed wrong". Just fucking tell me how to get out of that room and lets get on with our day.

Try using the Crytools launcher to start the game. It should set you up properly without all the hassle.

You can't get past that room when the mod is not properly loaded. As simple as that.

Is it the thing that pops up when you put in the disk? If it is then that doesn't work. How do I "load" the mod?

Crytools V2.. it's an application that allows you to load maps without ll the coding hassle. It'll make sure you load the map properly.

I believe it works with Crysis Wars as well. I'm not sure though, as I haven't used it since Wars came out. So you might be right.

No, it doesn't work with Crysis Wars. I betatested the map so I don't think it will work with the Crytools launcher. :)
