I went into the properties and edited some stuff.
Questions:
1. How do I find out the IP adress of my own server?
2. Why do I not have an "admins" file?
3. How do I whitelist people?

No, I wouldn't say that it's cheating for the sake of a Christmas tree.
If it is not possible / totally impractical to make under standard game conditions, then InvEdit a few leaves.
This would either require a hell of a lot of luck and timing, or you to hack in a few leaves. I'd go for the InvEdit path - you're not cheating yourself or anything - it's just one decoration, not an entire diamond fort.
You can just press F1 + F2 to take a screenshot by the way.
