So uuhh, just have been wondering this ever since I saw the apple on the wikia.
Is notch ever going to add apple trees? Like with spots of red in the leaves which drop apples at the same rate saplings are dropped? Or will apples always stay a dungeon only object?
Because imo apple farms would be pretty nice to have.
Me and the spiders are both like: "Oh god, what?!"

I thought notch added apples but they are rare and can be found by destroying leaves.
Hey guys. I just finished making a high efficiency mob trap. It uses about 30,000 cobblestone (the first 10k was legit, the rest was invedited - don't hate an engineer for not collecting resources :P).
It has 23 spawn rooms layed out in a tower system and uses cactus + drowners to do the job. I'm really pleased with it.
Based on these 3 towers it currently gets 774 items per hour based on a 10 minute testing period. If I were to add more towers I expect this would increase until it reached the mob limit.
This video shows it off including the layout of all of the parts.

Thanks :D

They can only be found in dungeons.
I installed mocreatures, petmod, and bunny mod. (Compatible with mocreatures.)
And now mobs don't attack.

I went ahead and replaced the music with Sigur Ros. So far I have yet to regret.

The old music reminded me too much of runescape *shudder*

I'm assuming a Core 2 Duo @ 2.66GHz with a 9800GT will run Minecraft without fog well. Anyone care to back that up?

Just noticed this.
You don't control how I play, unless you are notch.

All I can think to add is that the output might be increased if you used a lava-based mob grinder rather than a drowner, as it kills them much quicker, thus allowing more open time for new mobs to spawn.
Just so people will probably not stop rating me dumb:

But lava burns items.
But lava burns items.
Not if you build the grinder right. There's a way to elevate the lava over the water using ladders so that when the mobs die, the items fall into the water which then flows under the lava. Like so:

AFAIK the lava ladder trick has been patched.
Hmm seems to still work.

It's still easier to obtain water.
