I picked up two of C418's albums in Flac and listen to those while playing sometimes. They are great, it goes from chiptune-ish stuff to deadmau5 like music, and all in between.

To be honest, I just throw on my enormous mega awesome master race music playlist and let it go on its own while I play. Sometimes I'll stop and find some cool stuff, for example, Closing Time by Semisonic came on and I was like oh fuck time for some 90s shit and put on that playlist instead. Fuck modern music, my generation doesn't know shit about musical talent.

Minecraft is Santa. Today, I was having one of the worst days of the year. My teachers were being bitches, the girl I liked wasn't talking to me at all and everyone was treating me like garbage. When I got home, I finished my homework up and decided to boot up minecraft. I was frustrated so I put the mode to peaceful and just started digging downward. While I was mining I found 10 pieces of diamond (first ever diamond I've found just so you know.), 40 pieces of iron and 20 gold. Cheered me up a bit.

You can fix it by forcing the game to calculate lighting for those sections, the most reliable way I've found is to place a block of sand 1-2 blocks high so it falls down (This also fixes the floating blocks of water, and other floating chunks of sand)
