Not going to buy it if it's too expensive. What I mean is, with games like CoD4 for example, you get a fully immersive long-running storyline that takes ages, has tons and tons of awesome content. Add too this a great Multiplayer with a shit-ton of maps, weapons, player progression and unlocks as well as mods. It's definately something that'll give you a few hundred hours of game play if you enjoy it. Oblivion is another example of a game which is worth the £30 or so Pricetag. With SF4, you have a bunch of fighters, an un-engaging story mode you can finish in a few hours, and multiplayer, where you'll fight a single other player who'll probably have macros for all the specials and kick your ass. I'd consider this £10-15 at the most.
I wouldn't expect them to price it at 50 bux. The game's been out for a while now.

And even if you can do a shoryuken whenever you want to at the press of a button, you'll need to know when to do it and how to set it up properly. Random special moves/supers/ultras are going to get you killed if your opponent knows what he's doing. Plus, each character has a different move set and strategy to learn, and there are plenty of characters. For example, a character like Dhalsim has low health and needs to use fireballs and long range attacks to keep opponents away from him, but Zangief has a large amount of health and does the most damage with short range grabs. In higher levels of play, the game is all about tricking your opponent into making mistakes which leave them vulnerable. Admittedly, the story is pretty bland, and the story mode won't take more than a half-hour depending on the difficulty and skill level of the player (multiple playthroughs are required to unlock all of the characters, though), but there are also a couple of "challenge" modes to keep you interested if you refuse to play online. IMO the online mode has a lot of replayability if you take the time to learn a character and not just how to special move spam.

I'm almost entirely ambivalent to fighting games, and hey, it'll give me an excuse to plug in the ol' gamepad.
Game is up for pre purchasing. Will release next week. http://store.steampowered.com/app/21660/ Maybe you guys will be excited this time.
where is my Resident Evil 5 PC for Steam ?
Coming soon. Maybe. Probably.
I suck at this game so much >.<
Is it normal STIV doesn't show up in your Steam game list when you've bought it on Steam?
Don't even try to play it with keyboard, your ass will be kicked pretty fast.
She's called sakura. Capcom likes to shove her in all their fighters like she's a cam whore.
so...all characters are camwhores,I guess then
so...all characters are camwhores,I guess then
She's just pointless story wise, she's in rival schools aswell as this, quite annoying really.
Anybody elses' SF4 launches, says "Here's the serial key" and closes? This is pissing me off.
Yep, the bright sparks at Steam didn't put in the de-encryption files.
Yep, the bright sparks at Steam didn't put in the de-encryption files.
Sooooo what can I do?
Sooooo what can I do?
Nothing, by the sounds of it. Kendra keeps getting my hopes up that it's fixed, I drop out of playing Neotokyo only to find out that it isn't =/ Guess we gotta wait for the numbskulls at Valve to fix it. Edit: 45 minutes later than release, and they've fixed it.
Craig's right, just restart Steamfail.
I'd like a demo. I'm not going to buy it, since I've had it on 360 since release, but I'd like to try it.
I'd like a demo. I'm not going to buy it, since I've had it on 360 since release, but I'd like to try it.
Nothings different besides some barly noticable graphic filters.
Hadouken, Shoryuken!
I'm getting my ass wooped on easy! (playing on keyboard)
I got a USB gamepad so I'll be good :c00l:
I'm getting my ass wooped on easy! (playing on keyboard)
Yep, it's ridicolous, even on easiest.
Me and rilez are trying to figure out how to play in Versus using Hamachi. but we fael ;'( :saddowns: Also Vega wins.
I'll kick your ass a thousand times over in SFIV for the xbox, but I can't seem to work my way through the PC controls. I need a wireless adapter for the 360 controller. Seriously.
this is great fun at the arcade.
I'm getting my ass wooped on easy! (playing on keyboard)
I'm getting my ass whooped on VERY EASY. With a gamepad. I fail miserably at doing the majority of the combos, espicially the ones that say charge.
Charge combos are relatively easy when you get the timing right. It's all a question of timing. So, who here fucking hates Seth?
