Its not incredibly hard, once you get the basics down its VERY entertaining. And online play is fun too :D
I can't find any person online with more than 2 bars. And it is impossible to fight with shitty ping.

And I'm using a controller.
Street Fighter (and pretty much every other fighting game) was meant to be played with an arcade stick. I would strongly recommend buying one if you're interested in fighting games. They usually cost around $150 though. I can't imagine playing these games with a gamepad.

Spam focus attacks. It's the only way I've been able to beat him. Even then he can pull out a grab or focus breaker and ruin everything.

I wouldn't recommend it. Just buy a game pad, even the cheap ones oughta do the trick. I was having SO much difficulty at first, than I went in and set the buttons on my pad to correspond to the 360 controller, and its all good now. I still can't get down a few of Claw's moves, which sucks since he is really the only character I like that I've got.

I'm enjoying this game, even though I suck at it, LOL.
I lose 90% of my online matches.
My Gamepad's control sticks have square holes for some reason, so pulling off supers and ultras is actually a bit tricky. I've got a 360 controller that I could play on, with nice round holes around the control sticks, but I don't have the wire to connect it to my PC...
Can anyone recommend a good controller for this that isn't an arcade stick and cheap? I have one right now but the Dpad sucks balls.
Right now I'm using Dan only. Since he's the only character that doesn't get easy kills. With Sagat all you have to do is exist and you get instant kills. With Ken (which 50% of all SF4 players use) all you have to do is spam those fucking uppercuts and you win. With Akuma all you do is spam fireballs that can't be negated and just let them take chip damage.
With DAN THE MAN you earn your wins. That's why I play him.
One minor complaint I have...
The hair on the characters is a Phong Material. Anyone who's ever worked in 3D knows that you use an Ansitropic material for hair, not Phong.
Sorry, only those who work in 3D will understand this, but...

Also, does anyone else find it dumb that Honda's headbutt, including EX version, can be stopped by just about anything? The EX should atleast go through fireballs.

The Playstation controller has the best d-pad imo. The Sega Saturn gamepad seems to be [i]the[/i] choice for pad-players, but I haven't tried one so I can't say. They might also be a bit harder to get a hold of than the PS-controller.

He's by far the worst character in the game. But probably the coolest so it evens out!

Am I the only one to notice how terrible matchmaking is? Also, why the hell do so many people just go for Akuma and fireball spam? Where's the fun in that?

If you play Vega, doing the Charged down up left back trigger attack is a great way to catch fireball spammers off guard. Wait till a fireball is about to hit you, and do his long tumble backwards. The second he starts backflipping, start charging the down button and hit off the mentioned attack, you'll spear through any projectiles and mess him up.
Is it normal for Seth to use his throw while getting hit in the middle of my attack and when he is getting up from the ground and grabs me out of nowhere?

Ansitropic Material creates a stripe highlight, which is the way light shines off hair in real life. Look at someone's hair in the sunlight, the highlight from the sun is a stripe.
And I know there's the argument that this is a stylized game and therefore that realisim isn't necessary, but, even in stylized anime they take this stripe highlight into consideration. Look closely at the hair in this video. The highlights on the characters' hair is a stripe.

I'm noticing that too. I've had zero battlepoints for a long time now.
One thing that pisses me off about this game is how Ryu, Ken, and all the same gay copy cats have special attacks that are RIDIUCLOUSLY easy to pull off, and do twice as much damage as the ultras of characters whose ultras are ridiculously hard to do on the fly. Its like, you take two equally skilled players, the ones who pick the ez mode Ken or Ryu type guy will beat the one who is playing as say Dhalsim or Vega. Almost every time simply because for every 5 hits the skilled character does, one special attack that you can do by rolling the controller stick and hitting punch will do the same. The balance is god awful.
Besides having a limited amount of people to chose from, taking out the ones that are off the bat inherently shitty and you have a very limited selection outside of the Hadouken spamming lamer characters.
Yeah a lot of popular characters are the kind that you can easily spam specials. Like Ryu, Ken, Cammy. Sagat and Akuma.
