Ignite doesn't need more than one level since the slow doesn't scale much and the damage is crud. Fireblast and Bloodlust are just much better choices to level up.
That's right, Ignite doesn't get much by being leveled itself, the important parts (slow and AOE) are gotten either via level 1 Ignite or via leveling multicast.
did anybody experienced a performance drop since the latest update? (the ogre magi one) sometimes it become unplayable with constant 5-10 fps and i have to restart the computer, and sometimes it works like before the test version works perfectly, which is weird
I just played a game where some dude left after 30 seconds, he came from HoN and tought the design of the heroes was childish.... He didn't even buy an item or level up a skill but did go into a lane....
Does anybody have a guide to what passives Do/Do Not work on illusions? IE Mjolnir, Diffusal (Which I know DOES work), Helm/MoM, Sniper's Headshot, etc.
only diffusal, that is the reason why illusion heroes like spectre or phantom lancer have diffusal blade as a core item
What I don't get though is core Radiance on PL. Sure, you can spread them around to cover nice area, but buffing stats with items like manta or heart = stronger illusions. Radiance burn comes from PL only, even if there are 8 illusions around, they won't burn more. Hell, even raw damage won't benefit illusions! Spectre gets it, because killing spectre is problematic already due to Dispersion. Slap Radiance on top of that and it's kill or be killed kind of hero, which focusing already ensures steady flow of damage from enemy team i.e. even if spectre dies, damage from disperion (if Spectre was properly farmed) will ensure easy job for 4 teammates left. PL isn't that tanky, even with Heart/Vanguard. He is much more based on the fact that he can get a lot of illusions (8 = 8 x 25% damage, i.e. 200% damage) very quickly if he gets high stats and attack speed. 60 AoE burn that can be spread doesn't seem to be worth it, if your illusions by themselves are easily killed and you can't get them instantly in place like Spectre with ultimate. PL and Radiance is bugging me a while now.

It also allows you, the main PL, to do more damage even if you don't have any illusions out, and if you aren't close enough to attack someone or burn them with Radiance, you can throw a spirit lance out to slow them + do Radiance damage until you're close enough and it disappears anyways. It also improves him farming, since you can take an entire wave out in the time it takes you to auto-attack a single creep down.
It's not marked core, it's situational.
Marked as core, but extremely popular and promoted on him. And on topic of farm/more damage without illusions. The only way PL doesn't get any illusions is if he is kept from auto-attacking and has both Dopplewalk and Spirit Lance on cooldown. You want illusions, they proc Phantom Edge, Diffusal, block paths, etc. + While Radiance sure helps to farm, you spend 5400 gold to improve your farm. If you get stats for powerful illusions they can also farm camps by themselves and cut waves in moments. You don't have the tankability to use Radiance to full extent in teamfight, as PL is squishy, even with Heart to be honest.
It's not marked core, it's situational.
That's in Valve's recommended. Most people still consider it situational on him, along with Diffusal and Vanguard. Personally my build on him is boot>vanguard>radiance(skip to diffusal if I can't farm radiance before 20-25 minutes)>diffusal>travels so I can push easier/get back to where my team is quicker if I die>Manta>usually heart, bkb in there somewhere if I feel like I need it.

I agree entirely that it shouldn't be promoted for him. It can work, however it is outclassed by other items on him. Was just saying it wasn't marked as core.
I tried the original DotA and i got my ass handed to me by some creeps.

I was watching Zenith vs. TongFu and Zenith picked Skeleton King Did not see that coming Was on this stream but I guess it ended http://www.twitch.tv/beyondthesummit
nobody plays ursa anymore now that we have lycan so you won't be seeing it much
Ursa is played more than lycan in pubs since you have to "micro" with lycan. At least the games I play

I'm not worried about confusing characters, I just find the skins stupid

Part of PL's "tankability" comes from the fact that he can have so many illusions, which people will either mistake for him and cast spells on, or assume he's squishy/they're really strong and do a lot of damage.
Axe- From good to bad. Sven- Horrible. Although i don't mind the starwars face set because it's consistent with sven design. Drow- Looks stupid. It's as if she became punk. I think the Most important thing to consider is that the ugly pieces probably won't be worn. But i think Valve should realy Seek approval on items. The original Heroes All look great but the cosmetics vary considerably. It's as if icefrog and most of the artists of valve design heroes but the ongoing tf2 team Worked on the cosmetics.
Ursa is played more than lycan in pubs since you have to "micro" with lycan. At least the games I play
I haven't seen ursa played in forever, the only exception is the rare single draft match.
I haven't seen ursa played in forever, the only exception is the rare single draft match.
I used to see people play Ursa decently and actually solo rosh. Now every Ursa I see thinks they need to move back and forth between lane and jungle or have another melee hero in their lane so they can bitch about them not being ranged.
I like invokers and juggernauts the most. Invokers really doesnt look that intrusive and juggernauts boar, ivory isles, and ram masks are just amazing. Plus his swords. Not so keen on the Void one, looks too busy, Ursa is just dumb, same with Drow, seeker is nice. Sven is okay for some, terrible for others, same with axe.
Drow looks like she's wearing a bald cap and some costume hair on top of it, if it didn't look so fake then I wouldn't mind the hairstyle itself. Void's bothered me until I took a look at Void again ingame and noticed he does indeed have green on him, his bracers and mace glow the same pale green.
Radiance also helps him push. Part of PL's "tankability" comes from the fact that he can have so many illusions, which people will either mistake for him and cast spells on, or assume he's squishy/they're really strong and do a lot of damage.
True, it's great for counter-push and push, but he is great late-game carry who benefits little from item like Radiance ,as his main gimmick, illusions, don't benefit from raw damage nor can burn aura stack. Why not have someone else on team, who is naturally tankier, get radiance ? Call me stupid, but if I had tanky guy, like BM or NS on my team, I would love to propose a following deal. As PL, I would farm, and whenever I get a while of freefarm, I could buy the guy some cosnumables, Smoke/Dust/TP scrolls, but only if he gets a Radiance at some point. Sure, Radiance is so called "20-25-never" item, but at that moment of the game PL isn't nearly as tanky as, let's say Spectre, so if he participates in pushes, he puts himself in great danger. If PL can't really push that early and Radiance later on would still help the team, why not "provide it" to tankier teammate, who will thus be more useful later on ? Not high-level competetive thiking I guess, but I am willing to try it next time I get PL.
This is a very stupid question but do item effects apply on his illusions? Say, Radiance AOE damage, cleave, poison and Vlad's? I never wondered
Yep. So if phantom lancer throws a spear the radiance will burn them and if he has an orb of venom it will slow them even more. (actually I think orb of venom works if I remember..I could be completely wrong.)

Vlads does not heal illusions. They get the green heal animation, but no health.
And a fake lifesteal animation iirc
That's what I meant by the green heal animation.
I wonder if the update will be for the test build or main game.
