I played dota (the wc3 map) the other day and also noticed that they removed all the aura effects, atleast from items. (like the green glow with sparkles of the headress)
I kinda like it this way, the aura effects apeared in creeps, showing your position to the enemy, or atleast that someone was close.

I'm not talking about dropping on death, it used to be so powerful that someone could only be seperated from it by dying and it wasn't destroyable either, was nice lore.

It's only droppable if one of your allies gets it, because they don't benefit from the increased damage if the guy that dropped it is on their team.
So it forces them to give it back to you, or feed it to the enemy (in which case they DO benefit from bonus damage).
But I agree that it would be better if it wasn't destroyable.
Since there's no pageking I'll give some play tips I've picked up. I highly suggest everyone try Batrider for a few matches. He's more robust than most int heroes, but squishy nonetheless. Before you finally get a force staff (and even then) you're quite a kamikaze.

I love Batrider too. Since until now I haven't had enough free time to play so I wanted to be competitively good with at least one hero- he's the one I randomed and loved.

Play tips:[/B]
I routinely save my allies from ganks and stop enemies from escaping them with the knockback and ministun of a well-placed Flamebreak. It seems to be more effective as a utility spell than it is for damaging (unless you have stacked napalm... ohhh boy). You have to watch out though, if you miss you might just ruin everything by knocking enemies closer, or further away without killing them if they're escaping.

Normally you somewhat rely on enemies overextending [SUP](take note, those versing Bat)[/SUP] so you can get in lasso range of them, but force staffing enemies straight up toward you gets them every time. You can't rush for staff though, as without good boots you'll never get in lasso range regardless. I'm going to experiment with getting Boots of Travel instead of Treads, but that extra lack of strength with such an already-squishy hero might be too much to deal with.
When defending their base, Enemies particularly [URL="http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/8/88/Bat_rival_19.mp3"]Pudge[/URL], [URL="http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/b/b1/Bat_rival_04.mp3"]Windrunner[/URL], [URL="http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/0/02/Bat_rival_13.mp3"]Mirana[/URL] and other ranged's seem to like sitting off the the side up their stairs and against their base wall. If you land a flamebreak up behind them, with a little luck you can blow them over the wall out of their base and gank or scare the pants off them. It's a great counter to Pudge hooking an ally and will probably save them every time.
Batrider's squishy so later you generally want to do your thing and stay well clear of melee heroes if you are on cooldown. Support with Urn heals (you'll probably never run out of charges, being such a great ganker) and sentry wards.
Batrider has a 0.7 sec casting followthrough animation so definitle try and cancel it in ganks. You really need every second you have when you've lassoed somebody, they're sitting in your fire and the timer is ticking. Stack as much napalm on them as you can and flamebreak them back towards you as they run away.
[B]Playing against Batrider:[/B]
Early game, magic wand is pretty much a hard-counter to all his napalm. Later on though, if you have no blink or other escape (that isn't just invisibility) and he's half decent he WILL methodically feed you to his carry every single time you are in range.
[U][B]NEVER charge at Batrider without stunning him at a distance! At best he will [URL="http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/1/1a/Bat_ability_lasso_01.mp3"]rope you, [/URL][URL="http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/9/98/Bat_ability_firefly_06.mp3"]toast you a bit[/URL] and escape over cliffs with ease. [URL="http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/a/a6/Bat_kill_08.mp3"]At worst he will feed you to a tower and/or allies![/URL][/B][/U]
Batriders take note also: if somebody is charging at you, [U][B]Flamebreak them towards you first and THEN lasso in the ministun! This is essential.[/B][/U] If you try and lasso first, they [B]will [/B]stun you outside lasso range and slap their virtual balls all over your tiny healthbar before any ally has a chance to do anything.
All in all, Batrider won't be the one to kill you but he will be the one that makes you die. Hurt him at a distance so you have a chance of killing him up close. You need to be a little bit crazy to play him properly, and you're probably quite often going to have <100hp at the end of fights.
Speaking of Batrider, I think this round went well with two disconnecties.

Just played a game as Alchemist with 4-6-25, felt so good. I rarely got any kills, but I maxed out unstable concoction early game and fed our clinkz ungodly amounts of kills.

I just played probably the worst game in my life. Lets just say me laned against the best veno I've seen while I play a new (Relatively) squishy hero is a sad sight.

All the kiddies come out on the weekends. Game was going fine early on, I was encouraging my team to start pushing because I don't really want to face 4 carries. Mid game, VS starts bitching about the team when she doesn't do shit (Roam, ward) so I was left warding. I actually got mad this game and blamed half the team. If you Q with me, you know I [I]rarely[/I] get mad. Phantom lancer is bitching at the team "Stop stealing my farm." Late game, vengeful just stops talking on his mic. Razor is a greedy fuck and thinks he can 1v1 drow without static link. The only level headed person on this team was probably axe, but he picked axe vs 5 ranged so you can throw all that out the window.

There are 4 carries maybe (even tho Brewmaster isn't really a carry imo) but not 4 hard carries.

I like playing clinkz but all the games I've had with him were a complete pubstomp so I didn't really know what other item to get other than orchid. When I finally do have a close game BKB doesn't really sound that bad.
