Yeah it's somewhat frequent to see very low numbers for denies each game. Sometimes enemy heroes even set you up for a perfect last hit, because they can't time the deny right.
I have about 10 friendly commendations im proud of them but begging for commendations is just sad
I have about 10 friendly commendations im proud of them but begging for commendations is just sad
Yeah I hate seeing players beg for accommodations. Reports are one thing, but I've seen players say like "good support accommodate me." If you need to tell others to accommodate you probably don't deserve the accommodation.
i have around 40 friendlies and i rarely ask for any commendations i did it once or twice when i lead a couple of new guys to victory
unfair and normal bots have the same difficulty, but unfair bots gets more gold and exp
Really ? I swear I played some normal-bot games where they didn't last hit/deny everything.
After playing a game of Clinkz, he is such a pain in the ass. He is so squishy all the time, even after BKB. I mean, it helps, but you're still not breaking 2000k natural HP. Laning with people who have half a brain to harass you make him completely not fun. You'll spend more time standing in exp range hoping you can stay of level than last hitting. His attack animation is awful. For some reason I want to play him again because I feel like I'm letting the downsides of the character beat me.
When I was playing him, NP ulted and I already lost half my health.
To this day I've never played Puck, Kunkka, SS or BM, I've only played Skeleton King and ES like twice, am I missing out?

[editline]6th May 2012[/editline] Am I the only one that actually denies? I usually have like 20-30 denies at the end of the game as any role (Unless we're losing our lane) while everyone else has around 5

So much outleveling.
I actively try to deny but I won't make it a top priority unless I'm playing solo lane or as a support.
every game i play a support... I get fucking moronic carries, and the enemy team shittalks as invoker pudge and bloodseeker go figure fucking hate these cocksuckers
Think so. When EU was down recently I tried US and it wasn't that different from what you've said about European servers. Even the English part.
erm, thats because eu was down
erm, thats because eu was down
Heh, good point.
that feeling when your Riki was AFK long enough to get a abandon before coming back, your tiny was kill-whore who made sure to kill-shots all your targets, your Pudge couldn't land a hook if the enemy was fucking standing still, and your Veno never fucking warded ever... And you carried them to victory as a Batrider anyways.
Had a game where no one called misses, we got ganked a ton early game. We payed for it in the end.

I decided to play on Europe servers again, big mistake.
That comic makes me so angry. I mean, it makes the other people look like the bad guys while 'blue' was too stubborn to read guides before playing.
Well sure but that doesn't really mean he didn't know the game would have a very steep learning curve. I don't think any of the valve videos really show that. All he was looking for friendly teammates to help him learn the game, he didn't get any.
not his teammates job to teach him, i dont play dota to teach random people how to play
That comic makes me so angry. I mean, it makes the other people look like the bad guys while 'blue' was too stubborn to read guides before playing.
As someone who did read the guides when he started playing, they only do so much. You still have to learn by just playing. Take last hits, for instance. You can learn about the actual technique of last hitting, but you can't read a guide telling you when to last hit. You have to learn proper timing, when autoattacking is inappropriate or appropriate, etc etc. That means you can have a newbie carry who has read all the guides around on carrying, but he won't help his team at all because he's underfarmed cause he fucks up his timing on last hits. There's a lot of new players who actually take the time to read guides but still aren't going to help the team very well. They just don't know better. That doesn't mean you need to pat their asses and coddle them, but, save for a few exaggerations (i get gold from creeps???) the comic is more or less pretty accurate.
Okay, so, I'm making the cross from LoL to Dota2. This is gonna sound dumb probably, but is there a way to focus the camera on your hero? Or do you have to guide it manually?

I didn't like it as much as LoL's so I just manually move the camera.
That's a big problem with this game. Experienced players aren't willing to teach, and in a lot of cases, inexperienced players aren't willing to listen to advice.
not his teammates job to teach him, i dont play dota to teach random people how to play
I get that people don't play dota to teach people how to play, but I don't get why people can't just give a few pointers here and there. Not every new player is stupid, just confused. A little guidance can make a huge difference. I know when I first started playing I didn't know shit all, but I asked for advice when I didn't understand something and would try to correct my mistakes. Some players just need a nudge in the right direction. After all, it is a team game, so why not help your team out when they need some guidance. In the end it's a lot less frustrating trying to help someone and have them actually try, than berating them about how bad they are and have them not give a fuck and continue to make the same mistakes.
So, I got a key for this some days ago. Always wanted to try it even though I had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER of what was going on. A friend is teaching me some basics with bots for the moment and I'm getting some practice with last hits and denying and attacking other heroes. Even though its kind of confusing for me sometimes to play and you need a wicked speed and strategy to play, I'm starting to like this game. Just a question though... Are there new maps or is it always the same thing? (or will there ever be new maps)
Finished my first match with a friend about 5 minutes ago, even though I didn't know much it was fun as hell.
