I know the heroes in Purge's Welcome to Dota guide are good for new players but what other heroes are good for new players?

I picked up omniknight, night stalker, venomancer, and shadow shaman easily when I first started. All the strength heroes are pretty much easy other than skill shots (Pudge, kunkka) or earthshaker, alchemist, and brewmaster.

Initiators and other tanky heroes that aren't very farm dependent (or very straightforward farm dependent heroes like Ursa or Skeleton King) are usually good bets. I basically learned the game as Tidehunter after failing hard at several carries.

My 1st hero was Earthshaker, because I played Behemoth alot in HoN before coming to dota2... Also, for the Clockwerk players, Max Q before E in the earlygame. It's all like "How can I hold all these kills??"

I wish I could at least have one decent game as Shadow Demon, but of course not. I guess the problem is that he relies on a pretty good team to make full use of him.

I'm surprised that a lot of people can't micro chen.

tbh you shouldn't even say micro in dota it's not even comparable to actual games that require it like starcraft, I might as well learn chen since there's no one else fun to play anymore

you totally misunderstood what I said, you can't compare to using enchantress to playing a full game of starcraft wise

In starcraft you are required to perform a lot of actions at the same time, control a lot of units at the same time, managing resources and such. In dota, when playing someone like Chen or Phantom Lancer(someone with lots of units) you are required to perform a lot of actions at the same time, control a lot of units at the same time and you could say that you need to keep an eye on your resources as well(whether you should buy an item or farm more so you can buyback as well, etc). Starcraft, of course is on a much larger scale but the mechanic is the same. You shouldnt think that the term "micro" is a starcraft only thing.

One of our guys DCd and our other support couldn't carry the game so he had to push like shit in mid as phantom lancer with me and my friend helping WHILE he used the hero of the DCd guy to push top. We had all our towers taken down except for the ones at our base and none of the other team's towers were even touched. Thanks to him we took down all their towers and finished the game, he was pretty pissed though

Also this time I was the carry (Razor), but you can't quite carry when there's no Support except Invoker who got ganked and quit prematurely. I kept up with levels and gold easily, being the highest level on our team, while also p. much same level with enemies, etc. But it was lost because.. I don't even know why, I did everything I could in the world.
