Not really though it certainly looked great for a ps2 game. This won't look a whole lot better unless they upped the texture resolution.
I can already run my copy of the game in 720p, actually much higher with the PS2 emulator PCSX2. It looks a little better.

There's a PS2 emulator...?
There's a PS2 emulator...?
I've never heard of it either. It probably doesn't have that great of support and is very buggy, anyway, like most last-gen emulators.
One question, though. Can it read from a CD/DVD? Because that's one thing I liked about PS emulators; they were really the only ones you could use legally.

Reading from a CD is stupid. Rip your PS games to an ISO and run from that.
PCSX2 has been around for like 3 years, do you guys live under rocks?
that actually looks pretty bad, mostly the HUD and the fact that it looks like it's being stretched. you can't compare that to something with no media released. they're probably going to revamp the textures and such. in fact that'd make more sense, the PS3 could run a PS2 game (if coded for the PS3) at full 1080p with AA, so why else would these be at 720p?

when it released, maybe, but not as good as XBox games at the time, and the framerate was quite piss poor.
lol no. This is native res: (what the ps2 runs at)

My point was it will look just slightly better in 720p unless they up the resolution of the textures or yes, they will look stretched.
i don't think i ever said the PS2 ran at anything other than 480i/p (by the way, 2 or 3 racing games can run at 1080i, one being gran turismo 4, yes, on the PS2)

nope, i didn't
