Mass Effect Megathread - This one doesn't have time for your solid waste excretions!

That's what I meant. Look up on the wiki when it comes out or edit an ME2 save and have a quick go through to see what impact it has.
Or.. I can just.. play the game with what I chose?
-snip nevermind-
Yeah, you can choose whatever you want. But this way you aren't forced into doing multiple playthroughs just so you can choose everything and not miss out.
Nothing wrong with multiple playthroughs to get the full experience.
If you have the time to waste, that is.
I still like doing multiple playthroughs I only visit the wiki for certain sections so trivial that I won't do in multiple playthroughs.
I am in the middle of Retribution.
Previously, I wanted TIM arrested.
Now ?
12/03/2010 - Youth United Aims to Connect Young People of All Species
“Youth United is a galaxy-wide extranet group that aims to connect young people of all species. Founder Darchas Clark says he wants to provide a helpful, positive environment for children to learn about each others' cultures. A batarian raised in a human family, Clark says he knows things can be difficult for young people of mixed backgrounds. "My parents were good people, but they didn't know how to help with my struggle to relate to either batarian or human cultures when I was a kid," he recalls. "It's important that Youth United lets kids know they're not alone in that struggle. There's still too many vicious and ignorant attitudes towards mixed families out there." The group's services include chat sessions with peers and counselors, free classes on alien languages and cultures, and a guide to the galaxy's major legal systems.”

Goramit, BioWare, we need details on the attack :smith:

I'm sure stuff is gonna heat up when we approach a new announcement / E3 / a release date.
Goramit, BioWare, we need details on the attack :smith:
Remember when there were stories about the ghost ship every day and suddenly a story about Aish Aishland breaking up came up ?

Now I'm feeling kind of dirty for wishing painful death on all Batarians :smith:

I've done 8 playthroughs. I have time

Which one? I have the same amount of ME playthroughs, ten more on ME2.
Christina Norman's twitter is priceless.

my thoughts about the station is simple. One playthrough with it destroyed and one with it somewhat radioactive.
I´m planning to waste a lot of time with ME3. not that it could be described as wasting

I can't believe they didn't make it disturbing. Look at what it's made of, damnit.

Dreams, Rainbows and Bunnies.
So I was just taking my dog for a walk, and I started thinking about the Reapers. With confidence that Bioware won't pull the "we won't explain shit, you can't comprehend lol" card it seems that the "Reapers aren't killing us, they're protecting us!" theory feels like the most valid one at the moment.
From what we know, Reapers are built from tanging lots of individual members of a species, and then applying fairy dust and SCIENCE! to create the core, yes?
Well that kinda seems like a massive DNA bank to me. So, they're apparently archiving a whole species, and they need a couple billion members of that species to have proper genetic diversity. Which of course means that they're protecting us from something.
Now, everyone here knows that our galaxy is gonna collide with Andromeda in about 3-5 billion years. Which may or may not be quite devastating to everything in here. So the Reapers are basically taking backups of all sentient species in the galaxy, and incorporating them into themselves.
Other destruction scenarios could include whatever is killing those stars, or a generic "bigger fish" story.
This theory would also allow for a nice twist, when you realize than whenever you kill a Reaper you also extinct a species.

It could be the moral dilemma. Destroy a Reaper and annihilate an entire species for all future.
But that won´t hold in the long run i think

If they are our guardians, they're rather arrogant about it. Besides, they talk about being the harbinger of our destruction and invade and destory rather than take everyone alive.

I swear there was something else and the plot was EXACTLY like this, but instead of archiving a species, it was so they could safely move the entire galaxy.
I do share that theory as well, but I don't think that they are protecting us from the collision with Andromeda. It would be a good twist, but a poor reason. And by poor, I don't mean illogical, it just would be rather boring.
I swear there was something else and the plot was EXACTLY like this, but instead of archiving a species, it was so they could safely move the entire galaxy.
Revelation Space had the Wolves, who suppressed all species when they reached a certain point, so they could easily move the planets and shit when the galactic collision hit.
Yeah, my theory isn't very original, but then again neither is Mass Effect.
"You will end because we demand it."
Doesn't sound friendly to me.
Which reminds me of my other point. They have obviously become arrogant, believing in their own superiority etc. Could be that, in the millions of years they've operated, they have lost their true purpose. They simply do what they do, but they don't know why. They don't even understand it themselves.
Well considering that Mass Effect takes more than one note from Star Control 2 I'll bet reapers probably just have an Ur Quan complex.
Plus, I don't think a friend will say "I AM THE VANGUARD OF YOUR DESTRUCTION, THIS EXCHANGE IS OVER."
[sp]if they are not joking that is, or not acting like a Reaper.[/sp]
We also have absolutely zero evidence of Reapers having personality, as we understand them right now they just seem like Legion times a billion. Just a singular purpose conjoining billions of disjointed, and likely unstable minds.
